HardWire warrants this product, when used solely within the U.S., to be free from defects in materials and workmanship
under normal use and service.
HardWire liability under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing defective materials that show evidence of defect,
provided the product is returned to HardWire WITH RETURN AUTHORIZATION, where all parts and labor will be covered
up to a period of one year (this warranty is extended to a period of six years when the product has been properly registered
through our website). A Return Authorization number may be obtained from HardWire by telephone.The company shall not
be liable for any consequential damage as a result of the product’s use in any circuit or assembly.
Proof-of-purchase is considered to be the burden of the consumer.
HardWire reserves the right to make changes in design, or make additions to, or improvements upon this product without
incurring any obligation to install the same on products previously manufactured.
The consumer forfeits the benefits of this warranty if the product’s main assembly is opened and tampered with by anyone
other than a certified HardWire technician, or if the product is used with voltages outside of the range suggested by the
manufacturer.

What Does This Do?
1. Mode Button -Selectsthedisplaymode(NormalorStrobe)for
theTuningLEDArray.Themodesarelabeledbelowthelasttwo
LEDsoftheTuningLEDArray.
2. Input -Connectyourinstrumenthere.Thisjackenablesbattery
powertothepedalwhenconnected.Toprolongbatterylife,discon-
nectthecablefromtheInputjackwhennotinuse.Iftheoptional
HarmanPS200Rpowersupplyisused,cablescanremainconnected.
3. Foot Switch Release Pins -Thesetwopinsarespringloaded
hingesthatholdtheFootSwitchinplace.Seepage13forinforma-
tiononaccessingandchangingthebattery.
4. Foot Switch-TurnstheTuneronandoff.
5. Thru Output-Connectthisoutputtotheinputofyourampor
theinputofanotherpedalifyouwanttheoutputsignalfromyour
instrumenttobeaudiblewhenthetunerisenabled.

11. Tuning LED Array-TheseelevenLEDsareusedfordisplaying
whetherthenotebeingtunedissharporflat.Theyarealsoused
toindicatetuningreferencesandtuningLEDarraymodes.
Connecting the Tuner
TheHardWireTunerhasasingle1/4"Inputandtwo1/4"Outputs–MUTE
andTHRU.TheHardWireTunerofferstruehardwirebypasswhennotin
usetopreserveyourguitar’ssignalwithoutanylossorbufferingintoyour
ampandothereffects.
IfyouusetheHardWireTuneronapedalboardwithothereffectsdevices,
itdoesn’treallymatterwhereinyoureffectschaintheHardWireTuneris
placedaslongasanyeffectsplacedbeforeitarebypassedbeforeyouuse
theHardWireTuner.Therefore,werecommendplacingtheHardWireTuner

beforetherestofyourpedaleffectssoyoudon’thavetobypassother
effectsonyourpedalboardjusttotune.
ToconnecttheTunertoyouramp,dothefollowing:
1. Ifyouarenotusingbatterypower,connectanoptionalPS200Rtothe
HardWireTuner’spowerinput.
2. Connectacablefromyourinstrument’s1/4"jacktothe1/4”Input.
3. ConnecttheTuner’sTHRUoutputtotheinputofyouramplifiertohear
yourguitarwhiletuning.ConnecttheTuner’sMUTEoutputtotheinput
ofyourguitaramplifierifyoudonotwanttohearyourguitarwhiletun-
ing.

(standardtuning),A=Aflat(tunedhalfstepdown),A=G(tunedwholestep

Toselectthetunerreference,dothefollowing:
1. PresstheFootSwitchtoturnonthetuner.Adashappearsinthenote
display.
2. PresstheTUNINGbutton.Atappearsinthenotedisplayandthe
LEDabovethecurrenttuningreferencelights.PresstheTUNING
buttontoselectthenexttuningreference.Thereferenceisa1/2step
down(A=Aflat)iftheLEDabovebislit.Thereferenceisawholestep
down(A=G)iftheLEDabovebb islit.
3. OncetheselectedtuningreferenceLEDislit,wait3secondsandthe
pedalreturnstonormaloperation.Thelasttuningreferenceselectedis
automaticallysaved.

Select A Display Mode
TheHardWireTunerhastwodifferentdisplaymodes–StrobeandNormal.
WhenStrobemodeisselected,thetuningLED’smoveinthedirectionof
theinputnote’stuning.Ifthenoteisflat,theLED’smovetotheleftindicat-
ingthenoteneedstobetunedup.Ifthenoteissharp,theLED’smoveto
therightindicatingthenoteneedstobetuneddown.HowfasttheLED’s
moveindicateshowfaroutoftunethenoteis.Thespeedwillgraduallyslow
downasthenoteistuned.Whenthenoteisintune,thecyclingLED’sturn
offandonlythecenterblueLEDislit.
WhenNormalmodeisselected,singleorpairsofLEDslightindicatingtun-
ingstatus.LEDstotheleftofthecenterblueLEDlightifthenoteisflatand
needstobetunedup.LEDstotherightofthecenterblueLEDlightifthe
noteissharpandneedstobetuneddown.WhenonlythecenterblueLED

islit,thenoteisintune.
Toselectadisplaymode,dothefollowing:
1. PresstheFootSwitchtoturnonthetuner.Adashappearsinthenote
display.
2. PresstheMODEbutton.AOappearsinthenotedisplayandtheLED
abovethecurrentMode(STROBEorNORMAL)lights.Pressthe
MODEbuttonuntiltheLEDabovetheModeyouwanttouseislit.
3. OncetheselectedModeLEDislit,wait3secondsandthepedal
returnstonormaloperation.Thelastdisplaymodeselectedisautomati-
callysaved.

Tuning Your Instrument
(Strobe Mode)
Totuneyourguitarorbass,dothefollowing:
1. PresstheFootSwitchtoturnthetuneron.Adashappearsin
thenotedisplayuntilanoteisplayed.
2. Playanotewithyourinstrument.Thenotebeingplayeddis-
playsintheNoteDisplay.Ifitisasharpnote,adecimalpoint
lightsinthelowerrightoftheNoteDisplay(i.e.d.=D#).
3. TuneyourinstrumentbasedontheindicationoftheLEDarray.
IfLEDsmovetotheleft,thenoteisflatandneedstobetuned
up.IfLEDsmovetotheright,thenoteissharpandneedsto
betuneddown.Asthestringgetsclosertobeingintune,the
LEDmovementslows.WhenthenoteisintunetheLEDarray
turnsoffleavingonlythecenterblueLEDlit.
4. Continuetotunetherestofyourstringsinthesamemanner.
5. Whentuningiscomplete,presstheFootSwitchtobypassit.

(Normal Mode)
Totuneyourguitarorbass,dothefollowing:
1. PresstheFootSwitchtoturnthetuneron.Adashappearsin
theNoteDisplayuntilanoteisplayed.
2. Playanotewithyourinstrument.Thenotebeingplayeddis-
playsintheNoteDisplay.Ifitisasharpnote,adecimalpoint
lightsinthelowerrightofthenotedisplay(i.e.G.=G#).
3. Beginadjustingthetuningofyourinstrumentbasedonthebehav-
ioroftheLEDarray.IfLEDstotheleftoftheblueLEDarelit,
thenoteisflatandneedstobetunedup.IfLEDstotheright
oftheblueLEDarelit,thenoteissharpandneedstobetuned
down.WhenonlythecenterblueLEDislit,thenoteisintune.
4. Continuetotunetherestofyourstringsinthesamemanner.
5. Whentuningiscomplete,pressthepedalFootSwitchtobypass
theTuner.

Battery Operation
Intheeventthatbatterypoweriscompletelydepleted,HardWirepedals
automaticallyswitchintobypass.Thiseliminatestheneedtoremovethe
pedalfromyourpedalchainifthebatteryisdead.Toreplacethebattery,do
thefollowing:
1. Usingthetipofa1/4”guitarcable,pushinoneoftheReleasePinsinon
eithersideoftheFootSwitch,andremoveitfromthepedalchassis.
2. Removethebatteryfromthebatterycompartmentanddisconnectthe
batterycable.
3. Connectanewbatterytothebatterycableandputitbackinthebat-
terycompartment.Makesurethebatterycabledoesnotinterferewith
thespringorpedalswitcharm.
4. PlaceoneholeoftheFootSwitchoveritscorrespondingpin.
5. PushtheoppositepininandlowertheothersideoftheFootSwitch
intoplaceoverthedepressedpin.Releasethepin.WhentheFoot
