2 Safety instructions
DANGER!
Risk of injury and choking hazard for children!
Children can suocate on packaging material and small parts. Children can injure themselves when handling the device. Never
allow children to play with the packaging material and the device. Always store packaging material out of the reach of babies and
small children. Always dispose of packaging material properly when it is not in use. Never allow children to use the device without
supervision. Keep small parts away from children and make sure that the device does not shed any small parts (such knobs) that
children could play with.
WARNING!
Possible hearing damage due to high volumes on headphones!
The use of headphones at high volumes may result in permanent hearing impairment. Over an extended period of time, even
levels that seem to be uncritical can cause hearing damage. Avoid operating headphones at high volumes, in particular over an
extended period of time.
NOTICE!
Damage to the device if operated in unsuitable ambient conditions!
The device can be damaged if it is operated in unsuitable ambient conditions. Only operate the device indoors within the
ambient conditions specied in the “Technical specications” chapter of this user manual. Avoid operating it in environments
with direct sunlight, heavy dirt and strong vibrations. Avoid operating it in environments with strong temperature uctuations. If
temperature uctuations cannot be avoided (for example after transport in low outside temperatures), do not switch on the
device immediately. Never subject the device to liquids or moisture. Never move the device to another location while it is in oper‐
ation. In environments with increased dirt levels (for example due to dust, smoke, nicotine or mist): Have the device cleaned by
qualied specialists at regular intervals to prevent damage due to overheating and other malfunctions.
NOTICE!
Possible damage due to leaking batteries!
Batteries can leak and cause permanent damage to the device. Take the batteries out of the device if it is not going to be used for
an extended period of time.
NOTICE!
Risk of re due to incorrect polarity!
Incorrectly inserted batteries may cause res and destroy the device and the batteries. Observe the markings on the batteries and
on the device. Ensure that proper polarity is observed when inserting batteries.
NOTICE!
Possible property damage to adjacent devices due to magnetic elds.
Speakers generate a static magnetic eld. This magnetic eld can aect other neighbouring units and in unfavourable cases
damage them. Ensure that speakers are always a sucient distance away from sensitive equipment that may be aected by an
external magnetic eld.

WARNING!
Possible hearing damage due to high volumes on headphones!
The use of headphones at high volumes may result in permanent
hearing impairment. Over an extended period of time, even levels that
seem to be uncritical can cause hearing damage.
Avoid operating headphones at high volumes, in particular over an
extended period of time.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage by placing the instrument on the front side!
When placing the instrument on its front, there is a risk of damaging the
ngerboard and the tail piece.
If possible, always place the instrument with the back facing down‐
wards.
For installation and maintenance work: If possible, use a soft underlay if
you must place the device on its front for certain work. Avoid any pres‐
sure on the back, especially when placing the instrument on a hard sur‐
face.
Before you connect ampliers or microphones, the volume controls of the
violin and the devices to be connected must be set to “Minimum”. This
avoids loud crack noises when switching on.
5.1 Inserting the battery
On delivery of the instrument, a suitable 9-V block battery is enclosed.
1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the instrument.
2. Insert the battery into the battery compartment the correct way around and
close the battery compartment cover until it audibly latches into place.

NOTICE!
Risk of re due to incorrect polarity!
Incorrectly inserted batteries may cause res and destroy the device and
the batteries.
Observe the markings on the batteries and on the device.
Ensure that proper polarity is observed when inserting batteries.
NOTICE!
Possible damage due to leaking batteries!
Batteries can leak and cause permanent damage to the device.
Take the batteries out of the device if it is not going to be used for an
extended period of time.
5.2 Connecting the instrument cable
The [LINEOUT] connector for the instrument cable (6.35 mm jack, mono) is located at
the side of the instrument.
5.3 Connecting headphones
The [PHONE] connector for the headphone (3.5 mm jack, stereo) is located at the side
of the instrument.
When using headphones with 6.35 mm jack, you need an appropriate
adapter.
5.4 Connecting audio devices
The [AUX] connector for audio devices such as an MP3 player (3.5 mm jack, stereo) is
located at the side of the instrument.
5.5 Adjusting volume and tone
The controls to adjust the volume [Volume] and the tone (treble, mid, bass) [Treble]/
[Midd]/[Bass] are located on the back of the instrument.

6 Maintenance
6.1 Changing strings
Strings are subject to a natural aging process, which is also aected by the frequency
of use of the instrument. Changing the strings is recommended if the sound quality
of the instrument decreases audibly. Always replace the complete set of strings
(strings of 4/4 length) and always go string by string. In this way you avoid a strong
temporary bending of the neck due to reduced string tension. The bridge also
remains in the correct position and does not have to be readjusted.
1. For example, loosen the run-down E string from the trapezoidal machine head
attached to the bottom of the body (tailpiece).
2. Thread the new E string into the tailpiece on the headstock, pull it over the
bridge into the bore of the machine head.
3. Hook the string end to the machine head and tighten the string tension slowly.
At the rst windings, pay particular attention that the string is taut to the
mechanics.
4. Make sure that the string is running correctly through the grooves of bridge
and nut at the upper end of the neck.
5. Slowly increase the string tension until the correct pitch is reached. Use a tuner
or a pitch pipe for reference.
6. Proceed in the same way with the A, D and G strings and then tune all strings
again successively to the correct pitch. Note that the string tension will drop a
little and the instrument needs to be retuned several times until the strings
stay in tune.
6.2 Battery change
Replace the inserted battery if necessary (weak output signal) or at regular intervals.
1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the instrument and
remove the battery.
2. Insert the new battery into the battery compartment the correct way around
and close the battery compartment cover until it audibly latches into place.
Proceed as follows to change the
strings:

8 Plug and connection assignment
This chapter will help you select the right cables and plugs to connect your valuable
equipment in such a way that a perfect sound experience is ensured.
Please note these advices, because especially in ‘Sound & Light’ caution is indicated:
Even if a plug ts into the socket, an incorrect connection may result in a destroyed
power amp, a short circuit or ‘just’ in poor transmission quality!
Unbalanced transmission is mainly used in semi-professional environment and in hi
use. Instrument cables with two conductors (one core plus shielding) are typical rep‐
resentatives of the unbalanced transmission. One conductor is ground and shielding
while the signal is transmitted through the core.
Unbalanced transmission is susceptible to electromagnetic interference, especially at
low levels, such as microphone signals and when using long cables.
In a professional environment, therefore, the balanced transmission is preferred,
because this enables an undisturbed transmission of signals over long distances. In
addition to the conductors ‘Ground’ and ‘Signal’, in a balanced transmission a second
core is added. This also transfers the signal, but phase-shifted by 180°.
Since the interference aects both cores equally, by subtracting the phase-shifted
signals, the interfering signal is completely neutralized. The result is a pure signal
without any noise interference.
