■Output Level Adjustment
Controls the level of the trigger output from the PCY130/130S/150S. Use a small screw-
driver, etc. to rotate the level adjustment knob.
Rotate the knob to the right (+) to increase the output level, or to the left (–) to decrease
output level. The pad's output level should be adjusted in regards to how hard you hit the
pad, to adjust the pad's dynamic range, or to better match the pad to the type of DTX
Series Drum Trigger Module (DTXPRESS/DTX/DTXTREME) you are using.
■Replacing Worn Pads
•After extended use, some of the parts used on the PCY130/130S/150S will wear out
or their quality will deteriorate (pad rubber, connecting jacks, etc.). The life of these
parts will vary depending upon the circumstances under which the PCY130/130S/
150S is used.
•Please ask the dealer from whom you purchased the device about replacing worm
parts.

Adjusting the Voice Volume
To change the volume of the voice assigned to the PCY130/130S/150S pad, use
the [VOICE] edit mode in the DTX Series Drum Trigger Module. Please refer to the
Owner's Manual that came with your module for more information.
NOTE: When the PCY130/130S/150S is used with a DTX Series Drum Trigger Module (DTXTREME/
DTX/DTXPRESS), enter the module's Trigger Edit Mode and set the [PAD Gain] (pad input
level) parameter so that the display reads 90-95% when the pad is struck ff. Refer to the
Owner's Manual that came with your module for more information.
If the output level is too high, the pad's dynamic range (the difference between loud and soft
tone) will be reduced and trouble such as double triggers (multiple triggers being produced by
a single stroke) may occur.
Do not put excessive pressure on the level adjustment knob, it may result in damage.

■Setting Up
First setup the rack system (Yamaha RS150, etc.) or a commercially available cymbal stand
(Yamaha CS series, etc.) and then attach the PCY130/130S/150S as shown in the illustration.
1.First, insert the stopper underneath the
cymbal support, and then use a drum key
(optional) to secure.
2.Set the PCY130/130S/150S so that the
rotation stopper plate fits between the ro-
tation stopper ribs located on the under-
side of the PCY130/130S/150S.
Make sure that the pad is securely attached to the rack or stand. If the bolt is not tightened
securely, the pad can slip or fall down causing injury. Also, if the rack or stand is placed on an
unstable surface, etc., the rack or stand can fall over resulting in injury.

■Connections
Using the supplied stereo phone cable, connect the output jack on the PCY130/130S/
150S to the input jack on the DTX Series drum Trigger Module (DTXTREME/DTX/
DTXPRESS). Insert the L-shaped connector into the output jack on the PCY130/130S/
150S.
Function of the PCY130/130S/150S varies according to which INPUT number on the
DTX Series Drum Trigger Module the pad is connected. The chart below describes its
function in relation to input numbers.
*Make sure you set the module's pad type setting to cymbal. (Refer to the Owner's Manual that came
with your module.)
●:A single voice can be assigned to, and produced
by the pad.
○:Independent voices can be assigned to and pro-
duced by the pad and edge section (Dual Zone;
The cup and pad sections share the same voice).
A choke function (grabbing the edge section stops
the voice being produced by the pad) is also avail-
able.
□:Independent voices can be assigned to and pro-
duced by the pad section, and the edge/cup sec-
tions (Dual Zone; The edge and cup sections
share the same voice).
A choke function (grabbing the edge section stops
the voice being produced by the pad) is also avail-
able.
◎:Independent voices can be assigned to and pro-
duced by the pad section, edge switch, and cup
section (3 Zone).
A choke function (grabbing the edge stops the
voice being produced by the pad) is also avail-
able.
△:Independent voices can be assigned to and pro-
duced by the pad and cup section (Dual Zone;
the edge switch is inactive).
*: A mute function (holding the edge section pro-
duces an alternate sound when the pad is hit) is
also available.
*Make sure a stereo phone cable is used when connecting the PCY130S/150S to the module. The
switch functions described above will not function with a monaural phone cable. (Only the voice
assigned to the pad can be produced.)
Since the PCY130 does not incorporate a edge switch, use of a monaural phone cable is allowed.

■Troubleshooting
If the following trouble occurs when the PCY130/130S/150S is used, please check the
following points before asking your dealer for assistance.
●No Sound, Volume is Low
What to check
Problem
Is the PCY130/130S/150S properly
connected to the DTX Series Drum
Trigger Module with the supplied ste-
reo phone cable? (A monaural phone
cable can be used with the PCY130.)
Refer to the previous [Connections] section and make sure
that all connections are proper.
Is the Level Adjustment Screw on
the PCY130/130S/150S set too
low?
If the Level Adjustment Screw is set too low, the single pro-
duced by the pad will be too low to produce sufficient volume
from the drum trigger module’s tone generator even though
the pad is struck.
Is the module properly con-
nected to a pair of headphones
or an external audio device such
as an amplifier, speaker, etc.?
Check the connections between the external device and the
position of the power switch and volume level.
Are module settings correct?
Check the volume setting of the voice assigned to the INPUT
number to which the PCY130/130S/150S is connected (refer
to the previous "Adjusting the Voice Volume" section), or make
sure the headphones volume level is not set too low, etc.
Also, please refer to the Owner's Manual that came with your DTX Series Drum Trigger Module
(DTXTREME/DTX/DTXPRESS) for more information regarding the problems described above and any
other problems that you may be experiencing.
If a solution can not be found to the problem after consulting the manuals, please contact the dealer from
whom you purchased the product.
■Specifications
●Hitting the pad once produces multiple sounds (Double trigger)
What to checkProblem
Is the level adjustment on the
PCY130/130S/150S set too high?
Too high of a the level adjustment setting causes the drum
module to produce multiple sounds because the large signal
produced by the high settings sustains for too long of a time.
Refer to the "Output Level Adjustment" section described
above to properly set the pad's output level.
●The edge or cup sections do not produce sound when struck. The Mute or
Choke functions do not work.
What to check
Problem
Is the PCY130S/150S connected
to the correct INPUT number on
the DTX Series Drum Trigger
Module using the supplied ste-
reo phone cable?
Refer to the "Connections" section described above and
make sure the PCY130S/150S is connected to the correct
INPUT number.
When a monaural phone cable is used, the voices assigned
to the edge and cup sections are not produced.
Since the PCY130 is not equipped with a edge switch, switch
functions cannot be used (refer to the "Connections" sec-
tion).
Are module settings correct? Refer to the section on trigger settings in the Owner's Manual
that came with your module and make sure settings are cor-
rect.
