INSTALLATION
1. Removetheexistinglightxture,ifpresent.
2. Afterscrewingthesensorintothewallplate,
connectthejunctionboxwirestothelightcontrol
wiresbytwistingtogetherandsecuringwithwire
connectors.
Theseinstructionsshowthesensorwiredtoood
lamps.Thewhite sensorwireisneutral.Theblack
sensor wire is hot.Theredwireistheswitched
“hot”wire.Thelighting load(500W,4.2Amax)is
placedacrossthewhiteandred wires.
Mount the Light
1. Followtheinstructionsthatcamewithyourlight
xtureformountingandadjustingthelightx-
ture.
2. KeepregularPAR-38lampsatleast1"(25mm)
fromthesensor.Halogenlampsshouldbekept
atleast2"(51mm)fromthesensor.

TEST AND ADJUSTMENT
1. Turn on the circuit breaker and light switch.
NOTE: Sensor has a 1 1/2 minute calibration

Avoid aiming the control at:
•Objectsthatchangetemperaturerapidly,such
asheating vents and air conditioners.These
heatsourcescouldcausefalsetriggering.
•Areas where pets or traffic may trigger the
control.
•Nearby large, light-colored objectsreecting
lightmaytriggertheshut-offfeature.Donotpoint
otherlightsatthesensor.

3. Loosen the clamp screw
inthesensorballjointand
gentlyrotatethesensor.
4. Walk through the cover-
age area noting where
you are when the lights
turnon(also,theLEDwill
ash several times when
motionisdetected).Move
thesensorheadup,down,
orsidewaystochangethe
coveragearea.Keep the
sensoratleast1"(2.5 cm)
away from the lamps.
5. Adjust the RANGE as
needed. RANGE set too
high may increase false
triggering.
6. Secure the sensor head
by tightening the clamp screw.Donotover-
tightenthescrew.
7. SettheamountofTIMEyouwantthelightstostay
onaftermotionisdetected(1,5,or10minutes).

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
SYMPTOM
Lights will not
come on.
Lights come on
in daylight.
Lights come on
for no apparent
reason.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Lightswitchisturnedoff.
2. Lightislooseorburnedout.
3. Fuseisblownorcircuitbreakeristurned
off.
4. Daylight turn-off is in effect (recheck
after dark).
5. Incorrectcircuitwiring,ifthisisanew
installation.
6. Re-aimthesensortocoverdesiredarea.
1. Lightcontrolmaybeinstalledinarela-
tivelydarklocation.
2. LightcontrolisinTest.(Set control switch
to an ON-TIME position).
1. Light control may be sensing small
animals or automobile trafc (re-aim
sensor).
2. Rangeissettoohigh.(Reduce Range).
SYMPTOM
Lights stay on
continuously.
Lights flash on
and off.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Alampispositionedtooclosetothesensor
orpointedatnearbyobjectsthatcauseheat
totriggerthesensor.(Reposition the lamp
away from the sensor or nearby objects).
2. Light control is pointed toward a heat
source like an air vent, dryer vent, or
brightly-painted heat-reective surface.
(Reposition sensor).
3. LightcontrolisinManualMode.(Switch
to Auto.)
1. Heatorlightfromthelampsmaybeturning
thelightcontrolonandoff.(Reposition the
lamps away from the sensor).
2. Heatbeingreectedfromotherobjectsmaybe
affectingthesensor.(Reposition sensor).
3. Light control is in the Test mode and
warming up. (Flashing is normal under
these conditions).
4. Lightcontrolisdetectingalightsource.
(Reposition Light control or lamp).
