This product generates RF power which
may result in interaction with other de-
vices or systems during communication.
In order to avoid such an interaction,
turn the radio o in the areas where the
interaction is not allowed. DO NOT OPE-
RATE the radio in areas sensitive to ele-

planes and other areas which have possi-

INSERTING THE ACCESSORIES

The battery can be inserted easily.
1. After adjusting the battery cover to the position of
“unlock”, slide down the battery cover downwards
to remove it.
2. Place the battery in the battery slot.
3. Insert back the battery cover in its place and slide
the latch to the position of“lock”.
INSERTING THE BATTERY
Operating the radio repatedly over time will absolutely lower the performance of
the lithium ion batteries chargeable up to 400 times with high performance capacity
expires. If you are using an old battery, it is recommended to replace it with a new one.
INSERTING THE BELT CLIP
If there is a need to use the belt clip, attach it behind the battery
shown in image 1.
Warning!
Do not use adhesives to support the screw while inserting the belt clip.
The acrylic acid in adhesives can damage the battery panel.
INSERTING THE EARPHONES AND THE MICROPHONE
Insert the inputs of the earphones and the microphone to the SP.
&MIC. Socket shown in image 2.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
If the battery has not been used before or the bat-
tery is down, the battery can be charged by con-
necting to the EXT DC socket of the charging de-
vice as shown in the image. If DC power of 12~16
volts is available, optional DC adaptor can be used
by inserting into the lighter input to charge the
battery. The charging level will be shown on the
screen while the battery is being charged and TX/
BUSYindicatorwillglowinredcolor(see image 4).
When the charging is completed, TX indicator will
glow in green color.
WARNING!
• Usethechargingdeviceonlytochargetheradiobattery.
• The charging device may cause sounds in theTV and radio signals.Therefore, do not
charge the battery near such devices.
• Chargethebatteryinplaceswiththetemperatureof41°F-95°F(+5°C-+35°C).Theplaces
excluding the range of this temperature may cause damage on the battery.
• Ifthebatteryisnotchargedwithinafewhours,thereisaproblemwithit.Incaseofsuch
situations, do not continue charging the battery and contact us.
• Removethebatteryifyouwillnotuseitforalongtime.Otherwise,thebatterycanleak
down and your radio can be damaged.
• Thebatterywillberunoutofwhennotusedforalongtimeanditshouldbechargedup
to half once in every six months.

[CALL] Main CALL button is used for adjusting the frequency of operation, voice level, menu
choices and other settings. In order to switch this CALL button on, pull the button to
unlock the mechanical call lock and then push the CALL button.
[PTT] Push this button to send and receive signals, thus the transmission will be realized.
[VOL] Hold down the VOL button to deactivate the voice blocking feature. This procedure
ensures that you hear very weak signals close to the background sound level. In order
to make the adjustments, push VOL button and push CALL button.
[ON/OFF] In order to switch the radio on or o, hold down the SWITCH ON-OFF button for two
seconds.
[F/ALERT] In order to activate alternative button function in settings such as scan and memory
writing mode, push the button. Hold down the button to activate the alarm function.
[MENU]
Push MENU button to enter the MENU. You will see dierent function settings under
the MENU section when you push CALL button. Hold down the button to activate or
deactivate the key lock. Warning! [F/ ALERT], [UV], [LIGHT/FM] functions will be invalid
when the key lock is activated.
[LIGHT/FM] Hold down the light button to activate the torchlight feature. Hold down the FM button
to use FM radio feature.
F+[MENU] Push [F/ALERT] button and then [MENU] button to activate Scanning Function.
[VOL]+[CALL] Push [VOL] button and then switch on [CALL] button to adjust voice level.

SWITCHING ON / OFF
1. Make sure that the battery is inserted and full.
Insert the antenna to the ANTENNA socket in the upper top panel.
2. Push [ON/OFF] button and DC voltage will be displayed
on LCD for 2 seconds and beeping voice will be heard.
Later on, normal indicator of the operational function
will appear on the screen.
3. Hold down [ON/OFF] button for one second again to
switch the radio o.
ADJUSTING VOICE LEVEL
Push [CALL] button to unlock mechanical call lock.
Push [CALL] button after pushing [VOL] button to adjust the voice level you want.
The voice level will increase when you rotate VOL button clockwise.

RXCODE
In certain situations, you can want to hear the calls only from certain persons or groups.
In such situations you can ignore unwanted incoming calls from other persons using
the same frequency by using selective call.
Adjust the incoming signal in accordance with the
instructions given below:
1. Push [MENU] button, switch on [CALL] button and
switch to MENU [01] RXCODE.
2. Later on push [U/V] button and enter the setting mode.
3. Make your choice on OFF / 67.0-754N by rotating [CALL] button clockwise or
counter clockwise, push [MENU] button again and select the code (positive or
negative).
For example 023N---023I (OFF -67.0-023N-023I).
Warning:
[CTCSS: 67 Hz---254.1Hz] (50 groups); - [DCS: 023N---754N] (104 group);
4. Push [U/V] button to save the settings and EXIT. Push [MENU] or [PTT] buttons to
EXIT to normal operation mode.

SQL (Squelch)
Squelch System allows you to turn down the background
noise while there is no incoming signal. Squelch systems
renders operation mode on ‘Stand-by’ more eicient and
reduces the current consumption of the battery significantly.
Adjust the level of squelch in accordance with the instructions
given below:
1. Push [MENU] button, rotate[CALL] button. Switch to MENU [03] SQL.
2. Thenpush[U/V]buttonandswitchtoSQL5levelfromthedefaultsettings.
3. Adjustamong0/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9byrotating[CALL]buttonclockwiseorcounter
clockwise.(Defaultpushdownlevel)
4. Select the level at which the background noise disappears while there is no signal.
Push[U/V]buttontosavethesettings.
5. Push [MENU] or [PTT] buttons to EXIT to normal operation mode.
LIGHT (LCD Lighting ON/Button/OFF)
Heider PRO5 has a red lighting on its monitor for a comfortable
use at nights. Red lighting reduces the distortions at night visions
to a level of minimum while ensuring that your screen is clearly
visible in the dark. There are 3 options to activate night light:
Key : Enlightens the LCD when any button is pushed.
ON : Enlightens LCD continuously.
OFF : Deactivates LCD light.

The procedure to adjust lighting mode is as follows:
1. Push [MENU] button, rotate [CALL] button, switch to MENU [04] LIGHT.
2. Push [U/V] button to enter adjustment mode.
3. Make the ON/OFF and Key adjustments by rotating [CALL] button clockwise or counter
clockwise.
4. Push [U/V] button to save the settings.
5. Push [MENU] or [PTT] buttons to EXIT to normal operation mode.
BEEP (Keypad Sound ON/OFF)
If the Keypad Sound is disturbing you (particularly when operating the radio in a silent
room), you can deactivate Keypad Sounds in accordance with the instructions given below:
1. Push [MENU] button, rotate [CALL] button, switch to MENU [05] BEEP.
2. Then, push [U/V] button to enter adjustment mode.
3. Adjust one ON/OFF settings by rotating [CALL] button clockwise or counter clockwise.
4. Push [U/V] button to save the settings.
5. Push [MENU] or [PTT] buttons to EXIT to normal operation
mode.
ON-Key sounds are activated, the icon is shown on the LCD.
OFF-Key sounds are deactivated.

VOX (Voice Operated Exchange)
VOX, resolves the requirement to change the transmission mode manually each time
you want to send a message. The radio automatically switches to transmission mode
when VOX switch system senses that you start to speak to the microphone. Please
follow the instructions given below:
1. Push [MENU] button, rotate [CALL] button, switch to MENU [06] VOX.
2. Then, push [U/V] button to enter adjustment mode.
3. Adjust OFF/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 setting by rotating [CALL] button clockwise or counter
clockwise.
4. Push [U/V] button to save the setting.
5. Push [MENU] or [PTT] buttons to EXIT to normal
operation mode.
Warning:
Degrees 7-9: Most Sensitive VOX Level Setting under silent circumstances
Degrees 4-6: VOX Level Setting in Medium Sensitivity under normal circumstances
Degrees 1-3: Least Sensitive VOX Level Setting under very noisy circumstances
While VOX function is activated,‘VOX’icon can be seen on the LCD.
