Operation.
The
owner
and/or
operator
shal
l
have
an
understanding
of
these
operating
instructions
and
warnings
before
operating
the
jack.
Warning
information
shal
l
be
emphasized
and
understood.
If
the
user
is
not
fluent
in
Engl
ish,
the
instructions
and
warnings
shal
l
be
read
to
and
discussed
with
the
operator
in
the
operator's
native
language
by
the
purchaser/owner,
making
sure
that
the
operator
comprehends
its
contents.
Maintenance.
The
jack
shal
l
be
maintained
in
accor-
dance
with
instructions
l
isted
under
"Maintenance."
Inspection
1.
Visual
inspection
shal
l
be
made
before
each
use
of
the
jack,
checking
for
leaking
hydraul
ic
fluid,
and
damaged,
loose
or
missing
parts.
2.
Each
jack,
if
subjected
to
an
abnormal
load
or
shock,
shall
be
inspected
immediately
by
an
authorized
Hein
-Werner
service
center.
3.
Owners
and/or
users
should
be
aware
that
repair
of
this
equipment
may
require
special
ized
knowledge
and
facil
ities.
It
is
recommended
that
an
annual
in-
spection
of
the
jack
be
made
by
an
authorized
Hein
-
Werner
service
center
and
that
any
defective
parts,
decals
or
warning
labels
be
replaced
with
genuine
Hein
-Werner
parts.
A

ist
of
authorized
service
centers
is
avai
lable
from
Hein
-Werner.
Damaged
Jacks.
Any
jack
which
appears
to
be
damaged
in
any
way,
is
found
to
be
badly
worn,
or
operates
ab-
normal
ly
SHALL
BE
REMOVED
FROM
SERVICE
unti
l
necessary
repairs
are
made
by
an
authorized
Hein
-
Werner
service
center.
FEATURES
The
AJ-20
and
TJ-20
Air/
Hydraulic
jacks
are
designed
for
heavy-duty
l
ifting
requirements
such
as
trucks,
busses,
tractor
-trai
lers,
farm
machinery,
and
construc-
tion
equipment.
Light
and
compact,
both
jacks
feature
an
automatic
2
-Speed
Air/Hydraul
ic
Lift:
high
speed
to
reach
the
load
and
power
speed
to
l
ift
the
load.
Automatic
Overload
Protection
and
a
built-in,
replaceable
air
fi
lter
protect
the
system
from
equipment
damage.
ASSEMBLY
Some
assembly
of
these
jacks
is required:

.
AJ-20/TJ-20
Hose
Installation
a.
Remove
pipe
plug
from
side
of
hydraulic
reservoir.
b.
Instal
l
male
end
of
short
hose
(item
#4,
parts
i
llus-
tration)
into
hydraul
ic
reservoir.
c.
Attach
female
end
of
short
hose
to
male
end
of
tee
(item
#3).
d.
Attach
long
hose
with
control
valve
and
air
filter
(items
88,
1,
2)
to
tee
(item
#3).
Attach
to
air
supply
using
suitable
coupler.
Coupler
is
not
furnished.

TJ-20
Only
a.
Attach
the
two
wheels
using
bolt,
lockwasher,
spacer
and
nut.
Tighten
the
nut
sufficiently
to
col
lapse
the
lockwasher.
Avoid
excessive
tight-
ening
which
wi
l
l
inhibit
wheel
rotation.
b.
Instal
l
handle
grips.
INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE
USE

.
Remove
fi
l
ler
screw
and
check
oil
level
-
it
should
be
just
up
to
the
hole.
Fil
l
if
necessary
with
clean
Hein
-Werner
hydraulic
jack
oi
l
.
Never
use
brake
fluid.

Whi
le
the
AJ-20/TJ-20
jacks
may
become
"air
-bound"
in
transit
-
no
bleeding
of
the
hydraul
ic
system
is
necessary.
The
jacks
are
self
-bleeding
whenever
a
load
of
25
lbs.
or
more
is
appl
ied
to
the
ram.
3.
Check
air
supply
pressure.
System
must
have
at
least
100
PSI
to
obtain
rated
capacity.
THESE
JACKS
ARE
NOT
DESIGNED
TO
OPERATE
ON
THEIR
SIDES.
OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Lifting-
-Attach
air
supply
to
control
valve
and
close
release
valve.
Position
jack
where
desired
and
adjust
extension
screw
if
necessary.
Activate
air/hydraulic
pump
by
pressing
on
control
valve
until
desired
height
is
reached.
Jack
will
hold
load
even
if
air
supply
is
removed.
USE
JACK
FOR
LIFTING
ONLY.
ALWAYS
SUPPORT
VEHICLE
BY
OTHER
APPROPRIATE
MEANS.
2.
Lowering
-
Ram
will
lower
when
release
valve
is
opened
under
load.

defective
during

-day
period
will
be
repaired
or
replaced,
at
Hein-Werner's
option,
if
returned
to
the
nearest
official
service
station,
transportation
charges
prepaid.
A
full
and
complete
explanation
of
the
complaint,
and
proof
of
purchase
date,
must
accompany
the
product.
Hein-Werner's
sole
obl
igation
and
buyer's
exclusive
remedy
under
this
warranty

limited
to
such
repair
