1) BFOC stands for Bajonett Fiber Optic Connector. This type of connector is function compatible with ST connectors.
ST is registered trademark of company AT&T.
2) PCF stands for Polymer Cladded Fiber and is equivalent to HCS. HCS is a brand of Ensign-Bickford Optics Company.
3) The Versatile Link connector is function compatible with HP-Simplex/Duplex connectors.

POF-LWL Assembling
A) Cutting the bre
Slide the bre into an opening of the cutting tool and
press the blade down.
Note: each opening of the cutting tool may only be used
for one cut of a cable.
B) Removing the Fibre Cladding
The length of bre cladding to be removed is depen-
dent on the type of bre.
Versatile Link3) resp. HP: approx. 3 mm
SMA: approx. 6 mm
BFOC1) resp. ST: approx. 11 mm
Note: Only use the specially designed tool (not a copper
cable stripper) as otherwise the cladding of the cable can
be damaged leading to higher losses in the connector and
thereby to reduced range of the cable.
C) Connecting the connector to the bre
BFOC1) resp. ST or SMA connector:
Slide the connector over the bre and screw the
connector housing on with the lock nut.
Versatile Link3) resp. HP connector:
Slide the connector onto the bre and press the hou-
sing sides together until they lock.
Note: When attaching the connectors, make sure that the
ber ends ush with the connector at the front.
The transmit or receive diode may be damaged if the ber
protrudes.
Fixing the ber too far inward can result in increased
attenuation, shortening the transmission range of the
system.
