TiTaN TCS(Telescope Control System) is the most compact and powerful
telescope control system which adopted the latest technologies in a small size.
In addition, the sufficient CPU, memory, wireless module and various connectors
are readily available for continuing updates of functions and upgrades, so that
the device can correspond to the user’s need.

1. Main Functions of TiTaN Telescope Control System
1. Separate control CPU (120MHz / 32bit) and CPU for U / I, for future
scalability of required functions.
2. TCS have widely used astronomical catalogues such as M, NGC, IC, SH-2,
so users can slew to the desired object using TCS without PC.
3. Bluetooth equipped: it supports Bluetooth / Serial Protocol (SPP) and can
connect with various devices.
4. Variable micro-stepping (1/4 ~ 1/128)
By automatically selecting 1/128 Microstep in Tracking mode and 1/4 ~
1/32 Microstep in Slewing mode, high-quality tracking performance and
high-speed slewing are made possible. It also controls the voltage and
current according to the speed of the motor. Therefore, high-precision
tracking and high-speed slewing are possible with minimum power
consumption.
5. DC Voltage step-up and current control for Motor control : Maximizes
the power of the step motor to enable powerful operation.
6. It supports the widely used LX200 compatible protocol, so you can use
various kinds of astronomical software.
In addition, you can also connect the device to your PC using the
ASCOM driver for LX200.
7. Built-in parking function using home sensor: TCS can accurately sense
the home position by using the home sensor.
Even after the TCS is rebooted, the exact position of telescope is
recovered, so you can observe / shoot conveniently.
.

페이지 4/ 42
8. Compact and light weighted 86 x 115 x 35 mm: High-density internal
design allows the great scalability despite its small size.
9. High-resolution small-size graphic OLED display: High-resolution OLED is
equipped for monitoring of a lot of information on current consumption
of motor and various telescope control.
(1.69" Diagonal Size, 160 x 128 Pixels, 16Bit Color)
10. The maximum power consumption can be set when slewing, and the
minimum power will be used while tracking, which optimized the
function for outdoor observations
11. When tracking, the current consumption is about 0.3 ~ 0.6A depending
on the setting, so it is driven with very little power.
12. Power output using USB connector planned: 5V 0.6A will be available for
external devices using USB connector.
*There will be software upgrade to support this feature
13. Two RS-232 connections are available, and two ports can be connected
directly to the PC at the same time. This allows simultaneous connection
to multiple astronomical software.
14. 4 LED are equipped in the guide port input, so that the guide status can
be checked in real time when auto-guiding.
15. Melody function of the built-in beeper conveniently notifies controller's
operation
completion and trouble situation.
16. By using a photo coupler in the guide port, electrical noise from the

outside is intercepted.

How to Use Navigation Wheel
Navigation Wheel is operated by manipulating a rotatable wheel, arrow keys,
and the enter key at the center.
Navigation Wheel moves the telescope, searches for objects, and performs
menu operations.
Navigation Wheel can be operated by turning rotation wheel or pressing
up/down/right/left arrow keys and the enter key at the center.
Press Enter Key for 2 seconds to enter menu.

페이지 8/ 42
3. Parking & Speed Volume knob
Speed Selection: By rotating the volume knob, the slewing speed can be
adjusted immediately. When you make adjustments, the OLED screen shows
current slewing speed, which can be used for observation, photo shooting or
viewing angle adjustment.
Parking: When fully turned counterclockwise, it will tick and a parking
process will be executed. The Parking function automatically saves and
restore previous information, which ease the operation at the next
observation.

4. System Configuration Diagram
When connected to a PC with Bluetooth, two connections appear on
the control panel, but only one connection can be used for Bluetooth.
If you use older operation system such as Windows7, you need to
install a separate USB driver program.
The driver program is provided separately.
When connecting to a PC via USB, two virtual serial ports are created.
At the same time, two virtual serial ports can be used to
communicate between TCS and PC.
Caution) Since TCS has Micro USB Type B connector and USB Type A
connector connected to one USB port, never connect to both
connectors at the same time.

페이지 10 / 42
In addition, Micro USB Type B connectors have very small figure,
which results in frequent contact failures depending on the cables
used. Micro USB Type B is for emergency / spare use only.
Be sure to use a large USB Type A if you are using USB for
observation.

5. Operation Sequence of TiTaN TCS
First Time Using or If you have not used Parking function:
A. Mount the telescope on the equatorial mount: roughly balance of the
telescope when mounting.
B. Connect the RA motor cable to the telescope controlling system: Red
line connects to the RA side of the TiTaN TCS and yellow line connects
to the declination (DEC) of TCS. Please check the indications on cable
carefully as the color of cable may be different depending on the
model or production date.
C. Connect the power cable.
D. Turn the power switch on.
E. Select a star in proper angle: it does not matter whether it is on the

페이지 13 / 42
east or west.First, use the arrow keys of TCS to bring the star into the
field of vision of the telescope.
Then, place it at the center of the eyepiece.
F. Enter the controller's menu and use [Object-Star Name] - [Pointed Star
Name] - [Sync] to synchronize.
G. Point the desired object and observe or photographing.

페이지 14 / 42
If Parking function was used in previous observation
A. Mount the telescope in the same way as the previous observation.: It
is easier to remember if you face the telescope to the due east or to
the due west.
H. Connect the RA motor cable to the telescope controlling system: Red
marker connects to the RA side of the TiTaN TCS and yellow line
connects to the declination (DEC) of TCS. Please check the indications
on cable carefully as the color of cable may be different depending on
the model or production date.
B. Connect the power cable
C. Turn the power switch on.
D. Make sure you see the "SYNC" sign at the top of the TCS screen.
If there is no "SYNC" sign, you should follow instruction under “First
Time Using or If you have not used Parking function” section.
E. Select a proper star from Object menu and GoTo a telescope to it.
F. Adjust at low speed to center the subject exactly.
G. In the controller menu, select [Object] - [Star Name] - [Imported Star
Name] - [Sync] to synchronize.
H. Point at desired object and observe or photograph.

7. How to use “Menu”
a. Telescope : Displays basic information such as date, time, declination and right
ascension.
when operating
b. Object : It is possible to automatically point at the object by directly choosing it
from TCS menu.
Star Name : 240 stars
Solar System : Nine solar system objects including the Sun and Moon.
Messier : 110
NGC : 7840
IC : 5386
Caldwell : 109
SH-2 : 341 list of Sharpless
c. RA : Right ascension velocity variable value setting

페이지 19 / 42
Max Speed : Setting the maximum right ascension operation speed
Acc. Rate : RA speed acceleration setting. The lower the setting, the
slower the acceleration/deceleration is. Slowing the acceleration
lessens the load on the machine and the motor.
An excessively high Acc. Rate requires a large current instantaneously
at the moment of acceleration, and the drive system also requires a
relatively high torque, which is a cause of stall.
d. DEC : Declination velocity variable value setting
Same as Right ascension velocity variable value setting after
Max Speed : Setting the maximum declination operation speed
Acc. Rate : Declination speed acceleration/deceleration setting. The
lower the setting, the slower the acceleration/deceleration is. Slowing
