The TP120 Tri-Sat Antenna System
The ‘Tri-Sat’ range of antenna systems are renowned for their compact size, light
weight and powerful performance having been designed to excel in today’s ever
demanding satellite communications industry.
The user friendly modular design allows for simple, fast and accurate satellite
acquisition either as a manually controlled mount or as a fully auto-acquisition
motorised mount controlled either locally via a touch screen or remotely via an
ethernet port.
The clever design of the tri-pod mount also means that other 3rd party antennas can
be fitted allowing existing equipment to be cost effectively upgraded.
The main reflector is manufactured from high quality carbon fibre and is supplied in
six easily assembled petals that employ a revolutionary spherical dowel locking
mechanism.
The revolutionary design of the complete fly-away system allows for the ‘Tri-Sat’ to
be transported in easily manageable carry cases weighing less than 32kg that can
be checked onto any commercial aircraft making the ‘Tri-Sat’ a totally flexible fly-
away system.
The system consists of:-
• 1.2M six segment antenna
• Motorised Ku-Band feed
• LNB
• Antenna control unit
•Ku-Band BUC

components are located into high density foam inserts allow for
maximum protection and minimal weight. The antenna system is

Step 3. Splay the Tri-pod legs
and force the centre lock into
the stow position with the palm
of your hand
Warning : the centre lock can cause a finger trap - ALWAYS use
the palm of your hand

Step 4. Remove the tripod extension
legs
Step 5. locate into tripod head.
Step 6. Tighten and lock leg cams.
Step 7. Stand tripod on legs
Warning : the tripod has a

Step 8. level using adjustable levelling feet and bubble level mounted on the
tripod base.
The tripod is now ready to accept the elevation head assembly.

2.2 Elevation Head Assembly
Step 9. Remove the elevation head
from the packing case.
Step 10. Assemble elevation head
onto the rear locations on the tripod
base
Step 11. lock with Vee-Lock handle by
pushing in an upward motion.
The tripod is ready to accept the antenna.

2.3 Antenna Assembly
Step 12. Remove antenna base petal, from
the case
Step 13. Locate and lock antenna base
petal onto tripod head.
Step 14. Secure and lock bottom petal into
position on tripod base petal using over
centre locking clips.
Warning : the centre lock can cause a
finger trap - ALWAYS use the palm of your
hand and keep fingers away from
mating surfaces

Step 18. Attach the antenna side petal
to the base section of the antenna.
Fasten the over centre catch in four
positions
Step 19. Repeat for the opposite side of
the reflector

2.3.1 Antenna storage
The antenna must be packed into the storage case in the following order:
•Rear of case – Base petal facing towards the pack
•Bottom base petal
•Side 1 top
•Side 1 bottom
•Side 2 top
•Side 2 bottom
•Antenna stays
This will ensure the antenna packaged in the case will fit without fouling
the hard transit case.
