SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read this manual carefully before
use and keep it for future reference. The
manufacturer declines any liability for damage
caused by improper use or failure to follow
the instructions in this manual. Improper use
or non-compliance with the instructions will
void the warranty.
1. This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep the appliance
and its power cord out of the reach of children.
2. This appliance is intended for use by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe manner and understand the potential
hazards.
3. Children must not play with the device.
4. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be done by children.
5. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid
a dangerous situation.
6. WARNING: Improper use may cause severe injury.
7. Always unplug the appliance if it is left unattended and before assembly,
disassembly or cleaning.
8. This appliance is designed for home use in sharpening knives. Do not
use it for any purpose other than that for which it is intended. Do not
use it for commericial and laboratory purposes. Do not use it outdoors.
9. Before plugging the appliance into the mains, check that the voltage
indicated on the rating plate matches the voltage in your socket.
10. Only connect the appliance to properly grounded mains sockets. Do
not use adapters or extension cords.
11. To avoid electrocution, do not immerse the appliance, its power cord or
plug in water or other liquids.
12. When turning off the appliance, rst set the power switch to 0 (off), then
unplug from the mains. Never turn the appliance off by only unplugging
from the mains.
13. When unplugging the appliance, pull on the plug, not on the power
cord. Pulling on the cord may damage it or the socket.
14. The socket should remain accessible to allow easy unplugging later on.
15. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or worktop.
16. Make sure the power cord does not touch a hot surface (e.g. cooking
top).
17. Route the power cord so as to prevent tripping. Tripping on the power
cord might additionally tip the appliance over or send it ying while
powered on, potentially causing severe injury.
18. Do not use the appliance near water (e.g. sink). Keep water away from
the appliance.
