6. Handling Precautions
6.1Mounting method
Apanelof LCDmodulemadebyourcompanyconsistsoftwothinglassplateswithpolarizersthat easilygetdamaged.
And sincethemoduleinsoconstructedastobefixedbyutilizing fitting holesintheprintedcircuitboard(PCB),extremecare
shouldbeusedwhenhandlingtheLCD modules.
6.2CautionsofLCD handling and cleaning
When cleaningthedisplaysurface, usesoft clothwithsolvent (recommendedbelow)andwipelightly.
-Isopropylalcohol
-Ethylalcohol
-Trichlorotriflorothane
Donot wipethedisplaysurfacewithdryorhardmaterialsthat will damagethepolarizersurface.
Donot usethefollowing solvent:
-Water
-Ketene
-Aromatics
6.3Caution againststaticcharge
TheLCDmoduleuseC-MOSLSI drivers.Sowerecommendyou:
ConnectanyunusedinputterminaltoVdd orVss.Donotinputanysignalsbeforepoweristurnedon,andgroundyourbody,
work/assemblyareas,assemblyequipmenttoprotectagainststaticelectricity.
6.4Packaging
-ModuleemploysLCDelements, and mustbetreatedassuch.Avoidintenseshockandfallsfromaheight.
-Topreventmodulesfromdegradation,do notoperateorstorethemexposeddirecttosunshineorhigh temperature/humidity.
6.5Caution foroperation
-It isanindispensableconditiontodriveLCDmodulewithinthelimitsofthespecifiedvoltagesincethehighervoltageoverthe
limitsmaycausetheshorterlifeof LCDmodule.
-AnelectrochemicalreactionduetoDC(directcurrent)causesLCD undesirabledeteriorationsothattheusesofDC(direct
current)driveshouldbeavoided.
-Responsetimewillbeextremelydelayedat lowertemperaturethantheoperating temperaturerangeandon theotherhandat
highertemperatureLCD modulemayshowdarkcolorinthem.Howeverthosephenomena do not meanmalfunction oroutof
orderofLCD module, whichwillcomebackinthespecifiedoperatingtemperature.
6.6Storage
Inthecaseofstoringforalongperiodoftime,thefollowingways arerecommended:
-Storageinpolyethylenebag withtheopeningsealedsoasnottoenterfreshairoutsideinit.Andwithnot desiccant.
-Placinginadarkplacewhereneitherexposuretodirectsunlightnorlightis.Keeping thestoragetemperaturerange.
-Storingwithnotouchonpolarizersurfacebyanything else.
6.7Safety
-It isrecommendabletocrashdamagedorunnecessaryLCDintopiecesandtowashoff liquidcrystalbyeitherofsolvents
suchasacetoneandethanol,whichshouldbeburneduplater.
-Whenanyliquidleakedoutofadamagedglasscellcomesincontactwithyourhands,pleasewashitoffwellatoncewith
soap and water.
