Installation
Connection of the water supply
To carry this out, use the kit provided which contains all
the necessary elements for connection to the water
supply.
To improve the performance of the Aqua Care, we
recommend that you fit a tap with a filter on the pipe for
the connection to the water system: in this way it will e
possi le to manually interrupt the water supply during
long periods in which Aqua Care is not used.
! The water pressure inside the water system must e
etween 0.8 ar and 8 ar.
! The appliance must only e connected to a water
supply suita le for drinking.
Your appliance is supplied with a 13amp fused plug that
can e plugged into a 13amp socket for immediate use.
Before using the appliance please read the instructions
elow.
WARNING:
THI APPLIANCE MU T BE EARTHED.
Replacing fuse covers:
When replacing a faulty fuse, a 13amp ASTA approved
fuse to BS 1362 should always e used and the fuse
cover re-fitted.
If the fuse cover is lost, the plug must not e used until
a replacement is o tained.
Replacement fuse covers:
If a replacement fuse cover is fitted, it must e of the
correct colour as indicated y the coloured marking or the
colour that is em ossed in words on the ase of the plug.
Changing the plug:
Removing the plug
If your appliance has a non-rewirea le moulded plug
and you should wish to remove it to add a longer ca le
or to re-route the mains ca le through partitions, units
etc. please ensure that either:
- The plug is replaced y a fused 13amp re-
wirea le plug earing the BSI mark of
approval.
or
- The mains ca le is wired directly into a
13amp ca le outlet, controlled y a
switch (in compliance with BS 5733)
which is accessi le without moving the
appliance.
! Before placing your new appliance into operation
please read these operating instructions carefully. They
contain important information for safe use, for installation
and for care of the appliance.
! Please keep these operating instructions for future
reference. Pass them on to possi le new owners of the
appliance.
Positioning and connection
Positioning
1. Place the appliance in a well-ventilated humidity-free room.
2. Do not o struct the rear fan grills. The compressor and
condenser give off heat and require good ventilation to
operate correctly and save energy.
3. Leave a space of at least 10 cm etween the top part of
the appliance and any furniture a ove it, and at least 12
cm etween the sides and any furniture/side walls.
4. Ensure the appliance is away from any sources of heat
(direct sunlight, electric stove, etc.).
5. In order to maintain the correct distance etween the
appliance and the wall ehind it, fit the spacers supplied
in the installation kit, following the instructions provided.
Levelling
1. Install the appliance on a level and rigid floor.
2. If the floor is not perfectly horizontal, adjust the
refrigerator y tightening or loosening the front feet.
Electrical connections
After the appliance has een transported, carefully
place it vertically and wait at least 3 hours efore
connecting it to the electricity mains. Before inserting
the plug into the electrical socket ensure the following:
 The appliance is earthed and the plug is compliant with
the law.
 The socket can withstand the maximum power of the
appliance, which is indicated on the data plate located
on the ottom left side of the fridge (e.g. 150 W).
 The voltage must e in the range etween the values
indicated on the data plate located on the ottom left
side (e.g. 220-240V).
 The socket is compati le with the plug of the appliance.
If the socket is incompati le with the plug, ask an
authorised technician to replace it (see Assistance). Do
not use extension cords or multiple sockets.
! Once the appliance has een installed, the power supply
ca le and the electrical socket must e easily accessi le.
! The ca le must not e ent or compressed.
! The ca le must e checked regularly and replaced y
authorised technicians only (see Assistance).
!The manufacturer declines any liability should these
safety measures not be observed.

Disposing of the plug
Cut off and dispose of the supplied plug if it does not fit
your socket. The ca le should e cut as close as
possi le to the moulded plug.
Remove the fuse.
WARNING:
To avoid a shock hazard do not insert the discarded
plug into a socket anywhere else.
Fitting a new plug
IMPORTANT:
WIRES IN THE MAINS LEAD ARE COLOURED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CODE...
Green and Yellow - Earth
Blue - Neutral
Brown - Live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the
terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
- Connect Green and Yellow wire to terminal marked
'E' or or coloured Green and Yellow.
- Connect Brown wire to terminal marked 'L' or
coloured red or rown.
- Connect Blue wire to terminal marked 'N' or
coloured Black or Blue.
If a 13amp plug (BS 1363) is used it must e
fitted with a 13amp fuse. A 15amp plug must e
protected y a 15amp fuse, either in the plug or adaptor
or at the distri ution oard.
If you are in any doubt about the electrical
supply to your machine, consult a qualified
electrician before use.

Start-up and use
tarting the appliance
! Before starting the appliance, follow the
installation instructions (see Installation).
! Before connecting the appliance, clean the
compartments and accessories well with lukewarm
water and icar onate.
! The appliance comes with a motor protection control
system which makes the compressor start
approximately 8 minutes after eing switched on. The
compressor also starts each time the power supply is
cut off whether voluntarily or involuntarily ( lackout).
1. Set the FREEZER OPERATION kno on .
2. Insert the plug into the socket and ensure that the
green POWER indicator light illuminates.
3. Turn the FREEZER OPERATION kno to an average
value and press the SUPER FREEZE utton (rapid
freezing): the SUPER FREEZE indicator light will
illuminate. Once the refrigerator has reached the
optimal temperature, the indicator light goes out and
you can egin food storage.
4. Turn the REFRIGERATOR OPERATION kno to an
average value. After a few hours you will e a le to
put food in the refrigerator.
Chiller system
No Frost
The No Frost system
circulates cold air
continuously to collect
humidity and prevent ice
and frost formation. The
system maintains an
optimal humidity level in
the compartment,
preserving the original
quality of the food,
preventing the food from
sticking together and making defrosting a thing of the
past. Do not lock the aeration cells y placing food or
containers in direct contact with the refrigerating ack
panel. Close ottles and wrap food tightly.
Using the refrigerator to its full potential
 Use the REFRIGERATOR OPERATION kno to adjust
the temperature (see Description).
 Press the SUPER COOL utton (rapid cooling) to lower
the temperature quickly. For example, when you place
a large num er of new food items inside a fridge the
internal temperature will rise slightly. The function
quickly cools the groceries y temporarily reducing
the temperature until it reaches the ideal level.
 Place only cold or lukewarm foods in the compartment,
not hot foods (see recautions and tips).
 Remem er that cooked foods do not last longer than
raw foods.
 Do not store liquids in open containers. They will
increase humidity in the refrigerator and cause
condensation to form.
HELVE : with or without grill. Due to the special
guides the shelves are remova le and the height is
adjusta le, allowing easy storage of large containers
and food.
FRUIT and VEGETABLE in
The salad crispers fitted inside the fridge have een
specially designed for the purpose of keeping fruit and
vegeta les fresh and crisp. Open the humidity regulator
(position B) if you want to store food in a less humid
environment, or close it (position A) to store food in a
more humid environment.

Using the freezer to its full potential
 Use the FREEZER OPERATION kno to adjust the
temperature (see Description).
 Do not re-freeze food that is defrosting or that has already
een defrosted. These foods must e cooked and eaten
(within 24 hours).
 Fresh food that needs to e frozen must not come into
contact with food that has already een defrosted.
 Do not place glass ottles which contain liquids, and
which are corked or hermetically sealed in the freezer
ecause they could reak.
 The maximum quantity of food that may e frozen daily is
indicated on the plate containing the technical properties
located on the ottom left side of the refrigerator
compartment (for example: Kg/24h: 4).
 The top drawer can e used to store several types of
food (semifreddo frozen desserts, ice creams and
alcohol) at the most suita le temperature; the lower
drawer (see overall view) is designed to store frozen
food in normal conditions.
To freeze food (if the freezer is already in operation),
deactivate the TVZ and empty the top drawer, press
the rapid-freezing SUPER FREEZE utton (the
corresponding LED lights up), place the food inside
and close the drawer. The function is deactivated
automatically after 24 hours or when the optimal
temperatures have een reached (LED switches off).
The food may now e moved to the lower drawer (so
that the TVZ functions may e used) or left in the TVZ
compartment which, when left inactive, will function
as a normal storage compartment.
! to avoid locking the air circulation inside the freezer
compartment, it is advisa le not to o struct the
ventilation holes with food or containers.
! Do not open the door during freezing.
! If there is a power cut or malfunction, do not open the
freezer door. This will help maintain the temperature
inside the freezer, ensuring that foods are conserved for
at least 9 -14 hours.
TVZ compartment
The TVZ is a special compartment in the freezer which
allows the user to choose etween 5 different
operating modes that may e set according to
specific requirements and the type of food stored
inside. The temperature settings availa le are 0°C, -
6°C, -12°C and -18°C; these options are displayed on
the control panel (FREEZER COMPARTMENT kno ).
The TVZ has an independent control feature; it may
also e deactivated using the control panel, for use as
a normal freezer compartment.

Maintenance and care
witching the appliance off
During cleaning and maintenance it is necessary to
disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply:
1. set the FREEZER OPERATION kno on
2. pull the plug out of the socket
! If this procedure is not followed, the alarm may sound.
This alarm does not indicate a malfunction. To restore
normal operation ring the FREEZER OPERATION kno
setting to (off) and turn the appliance on again. To
disconnect the appliance, follow point 1 and 2.
Cleaning the appliance
 The external and internal parts, as well as the ru er
seals may e cleaned using a sponge that has een
soaked in lukewarm water and icar onate of soda
or neutral soap. Do not use solvents, a rasive
products, leach or ammonia.
 The remova le accessories may e soaked in warm
water and soap or dishwashing liquid. Rinse and dry
them carefully.
 The ack of the appliance may collect dust which
can e removed y delicately using the hose of a
vacuum cleaner set on medium power. The
appliance must e switched off and the plug must
e pulled out efore cleaning the appliance.
 During the cleaning of the slide rails for the drawers
in the freezer compartment, it may happen that the
automatic drawer closure mechanism is deactivated.
To reactivate it, simply close the drawer a little more
forcefully than is usually necessary.
Avoiding mould and unpleasant odours
 The appliance is manufactured with hygienic materials
which are odour free. In order to maintain an odour
free refrigerator and to prevent the formation of stains,
food must always e covered or sealed properly.
 If you want to switch the appliance off for an
extended period of time, clean the inside and leave
the doors open.
Holiday function
If you are going on holiday, you do not have to switch
the appliance off; it features a low-energy function
which keeps the temperature of the refrigerator
compartment at approximately 12°C (you may, for
example, wish to protect cosmetics and eauty
products from the heat). The freezer temperature
should e set to the minimum value, in order to
preserve the food inside it effectively.

OPERATION kno on .
A dou le acoustic signal informs you when it has een
ena led. A single acoustic signal informs you when it
has een disa led.
Optimization Energy aving function
The Optimization Energy aving function may e
activated in order to optimise energy consumption
while maintaining the cooling performance of the
product. This function maximises the energy saved. It is
activated y setting the kno s to I CARE, then
pressing and holding the Super Freeze utton for at
least 3 seconds; the Super Freeze indicator light will
egin to flash, signalling the activation of this function.
The Optimization Energy aving function may also e
deactivated y pressing the Super Freeze utton again.
The corresponding indicator light will stop flashing,
there y signalling that the original operating conditions
have een restored.
In humid environments, when the Optimization Energy
aving function is activated, slight condensation may
form on the door of the appliance; normal operating
conditions are restored when the function is
deactivated.
Replacing the light bulb
To replace the light ul in the refrigerator
compartment, pull out the plug from the electrical
socket. Follow the
instructions elow.
Access the light ul y
removing the cover as
indicated in the diagram.
Replace it with a similar
light ul within the
power range indicated on
the cover (10 W, 15 W or
25 W).

Precautions and tips
! The appliance was designed and manufactured in
compliance with international safety standards. The
following warnings are provided for safety reasons and
must e read carefully.
This appliance complies with the following
Community Directives:
- 73/23/EEC of 19/02/73 (Low Voltage) and
su sequent amendments;
-89/336/EEC of 03.05.89 (Electromagnetic
Compati ility) and su sequent amendments;
- 2002/96/CE..
General safety
 The appliance was designed for domestic use inside the
home and is not intended for commercial or industrial use.
 The appliance must e used to store and freeze food
products y adults only and according to the instructions
in this manual.
 The appliance must not e installed outdoors, even in
covered areas. It is extremely dangerous to leave the
appliance exposed to rain and storms.
 Do not touch the appliance with are feet or with wet or
moist hands and feet.
 Do not touch the internal cooling elements: this could
cause skin a rasions or frost/freezer urns.
 When unplugging the appliance always pull the plug from
the mains socket, do not pull on the ca le.
 Before cleaning and maintenance, always switch off the
appliance and disconnect it from the electrical supply. It
is not sufficient to set the temperature adjustment kno s
on OFF (appliance off) to eliminate all electrical contact.
 In the case of a malfunction, under no circumstances
should you attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
Repairs carried out y inexperienced persons may cause
injury or further malfunctioning of the appliance.
 Do not use utensils other than the scraper provided, or
electrical equipment which is not of the type specified y
the manufacturer, inside the frozen food storage
compartments.
 Do not put ice cu es taken directly from the freezer into
your mouth.
 Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play
with the appliance. Under no circumstance should they
e allowed to sit on the ins or to hang from the door.
 Keep packaging material out of the reach of children! It
can ecome a choking or suffocation hazard.
 When closing the refrigerator
doors, pay attention to the
position of the upright (see figure).
 Make sure that excessive
volumes of food are not placed in
the upper part of the freezer
compartment, in the space
reserved for the ice tray (where
present).
Disposal
 O serve local environmental standards when
disposing packaging material for recycling purposes.
 The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires
that old household electrical appliances must not e
disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste
stream. Old appliances must e collected separately
in order to optimise the recovery and recycling of the
materials they contain and reduce the impact on
human health and the environment. The crossed out
wheeled in sym ol on the product reminds you of
your o ligation, that when you dispose of the
appliance it must e separately collected.
Consumers should contact their local authority or
retailer for information concerning the correct disposal
of their old appliance.
Respecting and conserving the environment
 Install the appliance in a fresh and well-ventilated
room. Ensure that it is protected from direct sunlight
and do not place it near heat sources.
 Try to avoid keeping the door open for long periods or
opening the door too frequently in order to conserve
energy.
 Do not fill the appliance with too much food:
cold air must circulate freely for food to e preserved
properly. If circulation is impeded, the compressor will
work continuously.
 Do not place hot food directly into the refrigerator. The
internal temperature will increase and force the
compressor to work harder and will consume more
energy.
 Defrost the appliance if ice forms (see Maintenance).
A thick layer of ice makes cold transference to food
products more difficult and results in increased
energy consumption.
 Regularly check the door seals and wipe clean to
ensure they are free of de ris and to prevent cold air
from escaping (see Maintenance).

Possible causes / olutions:
 The plug has not been inserted into the electrical socket, or not far enough
to make contact, or there is no power in the house.
 The appliance comes with a motor protection control (see Start-up and use).
 Pull out and reverse the plug before putting it back in the socket.
a) The refrigerator door has remained open for more than two minutes (the
buzzer will stop sounding when you shut the door) or the correct switching
off procedure was not followed (see Maintenance).
b) The temperature in the freezer is too high. Check the quality of the food
products and dispose if necessary.
c) The temperature in the freezer has reached a dangerous level. The food
must be disposed immediately.
d) The Optimization Energy Saving function is activated
b/c) In both these cases the freezer will maintain a temperature of about 0°C
so that the food does not re freeze.
To turn off the acoustic signal open and close the refrigerator door. To
restore normal operation bring the FREEZER OPERATION knob setting
to (off) and turn the appliance on again.
 The appliance is not operating correctly. Contact the Technical Assistance
Centre.
 The doors do not close properly or the seals are damaged.
 The doors are opened too frequently.
 The OPERATION knobs are not on the correct setting (see Description).
 The refrigerator or the freezer have been over filled.
 The REFRIGERATOR OPERATION knob is not on the correct setting (see
Description).
 The food is in contact with the back inside wall of the refrigerator.
 The SUPER FREEZE button has been pressed (rapid freezing): the yellow
SUPER FREEZE light is on or flashing (see Description).
 The door is not closed properly or is continuously opened.
 The outside ambient temperature is very high.
 The thickness of the frost exceeds 2 3 mm (see Maintenance).
 The appliance has not been installed on a level surface (see Installation).
 The appliance has been installed between cabinets that vibrate and make
noise.
 The internal refrigerant makes a slight noise even when the compressor is
off. This is not a defect, it is normal.
 This shows the appliance is operating normally.
If the appliance does not work, efore calling for Assistance (see Assistance), check for a solution from the following list.
