YournewHoyt/Eastoncompoundbowcomeswitharrowrest,
nockingpoint.CenterShotMicroAdjuster,oradjustmentscrew(hori-
zontalarrowadjustmentlocatedatarrowrest),andtheHoyt/Easton
CableGuardControlSystem(Patented).Bowsusingwidewheelsdo
notrequirea cableguard.
Thefollowinginformationprovideshelpfulinstructionontheproper
careandmaintenanceaswellasshootingpreparationofyournew

anarrow)Withoutanarrowtoabsorbtheenergy,theforcecouldcause
severedamagetothebow.^

Donottightenorloosenonelimbadjustmentboltmorethantwofullturns
aheadoftheother(alternatebetweenthefopandbottomlimbbolts)when
increasingordecreasingbowweight.
4.Neverallowyourbowtobeoverdrawn.Compoundbowshovelimits
built-inandwhentheselimitsoreexceeded,overstressingconcauselimb

BOWMAINTENANCE
1.
Applya lightcootofbowstringwaxtoyourbowstringaboutoncea month.
2.
Replacefrayedorwornbowstringstopreventbreakageorpossible
damagetoyourbowCheckloopsregularlyforexcessivewearfromtear
drops.
3.
Checkcablesperiodicallytorsignsofwear
4.Waxbowandlimbseverytwoorthreemonthstomaintainfinishand
lustre.
5.Itisnota problemtoleaveyourbowina strungcondition,however,during
prolongedstorage,le.,betweenhuntingseasons.ItIsadvisabletoreduce
thedrawweightbyturningyourlimbadjustmentboltscounterclockwisefour
tosixturns.Noteona pieceofpapertheexactnumberofturnsyoumodeto

reducethedrawweightsoyoumayquicklyre-adjusttothepriorweightthe
nexttimeyoushoot.
6.Lubricatetheaxlesoftheeccentricwheelsfromtimetotime(WD40is
excellent).
Donotoilthecoblegroovesofthewheels.
7.Toassurebestresults,werecommendtheuseofHoyt/Eastonreplacement
ports,
strings,cables,etc.
DRAWLENGTHADJUSTMENTS
First,checktoseethatyourbowissetatyourdesireddrawlength.TheHoyt/
EastonbowsequippedwithIrl-drowwheels"oresetInthecenterslotfrom
thefactoryandconbeadjustedfora oneInchlongeroroneinchshorter
drawlength.Ifyouhovepurchaseda bowwithoutthetrl-drowsystem,you
con,
toa limiteddegree,shortenthedrawlengthbyusinga shorter
bowstring.
Ifyoucannotobtainyourproperdrawlength,returnthebowto
yourarcheryproshopfora differentsizewheel.
NOTE:
Althoughtheuseofa longerstringwouldhovetheoppositeeffectof
lengtheningthedraw,factorysettingallowslittleadjustmentInthisdirection.
Lengtheningthedrawinthismannercancausecableoverlap,andhence,
createunnecessarycampllcatlons.
Aslightweightchangewillaccompanyanychangeindrawlengthand
maybecompensatedbytighteningorlooseningthelimbweightadjust-
mentbolts.Occasionally,however,thefullamountofpeakweightmaybe
lostwhenreducingdrawlength.
With"energywheels,"thedrawlengthconbechanged
bythefollowingmethods.
1.
Using an Alien wrench, beginbylooseningeachlimbweightadjustment
bolttwoturns(counterclockwise),alternatingbe-
tweenthetopandbottomlimb(remembertokeep
trackattheexactnumberofturnsInordertoreturn
yourpoundagetotheoriginalweight).Continue
looseningeachboltuntilthereisenoughcoble
slacktomovethecablestothedesiredslots. After
placingcablesIndesiredshorterdrawlength(-)or
longerdrawlength
(-t-),
alternatelyre-tlghtenlimb
weightadjustmentbolts(twoturnsata time)whileensuringcablesremainin
properslots.Donotdrawbowwhenlimbsoreinrelaxedstate.
2.
Using a string changer or long bowstring, leavethebowsetattheoriginal
weight.Placethestringchangerorlongstring(6"to8"longerthanregular
string)oneachunusedteardropofthecables.Pullstringchangertoremove
regularbowstringandrelaxchangertogetslockinthecables.Whenusing
thelongstring,lowerthelongbowstringtothefloorandstandonIt.Next,pull
thebowupuntilthelimbsflexenoughtoremovetheregularbowstring;now
letthebowrelax.Thecablesshouldbeslockenoughtomovetothedesired
slots.
Toreset,simplyreversetheprocedure,makingsurethecablesremain
inplace.
SEHINGBOWWEIGHT
AdjustingtheweightofyourcompoundbowisveryeasyUsingtheAllen
wrenchsuppliedwithyourbowsimplyturnthelimbweightadjustmentbolts
clockwisetoIncreasepoundageorcounterclockwisetoreducepoundage.
Onefull 360°turnofthelimbweightadjustmentboltwilleffectivelyIncrease
ordecreaseheavyweightbowsapproximatelyfourpoundsperturnand
lightweightbowsapproximatelytwopoundsper
turn.
Aftersettingbow
weight,besuretochecktiller.

TillerIsthedifferenceInactualdistancebetweentheupperandlowerlimb
measuredfromthebaseofthebowlimbs(wherethebaseofthelimband
risermeet)ata 90°angletothebowstring.Wheneveryoumokea bow
weightadjustment,besuretochecktillertomokecertainthelowerlimb
measuresapproximatelyVB" lessthanthetoplimb.Tilleradjustmentsare
madebyadjustingeitherlimbweightadjustmentbolt.
If
toomuchtilleronthe
bottomlimb,decreasetheweightofthebottomlimborIncreasetheweight
onthetoplimb.

INSTALLATIONOFCABLEGUARDCONTROLSYSTEM
Withthebasicadjustmentscompleted,youorenowreadytoproceedtothe
finaladjustmentforbowset-up.AttachtheHoyt/EastonCobleGuardControl
SystemonyourbowusingthefollowingInstructions.Hoyt/Eastoncompound
bowscomewithtwoseparatecableguardlocations,dependingonthe
bowyoupurchased.SomehovetheCobleGuardControlSystemlocated
ontheoppositesideofthesightwindowandmountsonsightmountholes.
OthershovecobleguardInstallationmountsontheoppositesideofthe
stabilizerbushing.,sy-:
Forsightmountcobleguardinstallation,attachthebaseplatemountto
thehandlesectionatthebowsightandaccessorymountingholeswiththe
socketheadscrews(10-24)andwrenchprovided.Preferably,placethe
heavysectionhavingthereceivinghalefortheslidebaronthebottom.A
bowslghtmountand/orbowqulvermountmayalsobeattachedatthispoint
byusinglonger10-24socketscrews.Sliptheslidebarintothereceivinghole

of
the
baseplatewith
the
flat
endofthe
slide
bar
heldflush
atthe
forward
face
ofthe
baseplate
andthe
rearwardoffsetportion
ofthe
slide
bar
rotatedupward.Tighten
set
screwslightly.Next,Install
the
cableglideblock
on
the
cables
by
putting
one
coble
In
eachslot.Mokesurethat
the
large
holeIn
the
cobleglideIsfacing
the
correctdirection,thatiswhen
the
cable
glide
Is
Installed
onthe
coblebar,
the
cablesshould
be
between
the
coble
barand
the
string.Slipcableguardblockovertherearend
of
thecoble
bar
bypullingcablesback.Loosen
theset
screws
Inthe
baseplate
and
rotate
theslide
rod
untilthere
is
justenoughoffset
for
vanes
to
clear
the
cables.
Retlghten
theset
screwsfirmly.
ForcobleguardInstallationoppositestabilizerbushing.Install
the
adjust-
ablecable
barInthe
fixtureprovidedwith
the
rearoffsetportionrotated
awayfromstring
and
lightlytighten
the
two
set
screws.ProceedIn
the
some
manner
as
describedabove
and
tighten
thetwoset
screwsfirmlywhen
Installation
Is
complete.
You
now
hoveInstalled
a
Hoyt/EastonCobleGuardControlSystemwhich
unlike
any
other
conbe
adjusted
forthe
properamountneeded
for
vane
clearance.ThissystemImprovesaccuracy
by
substantiallyreducinglateral
limbtorque.
The
cobleglideblockreducescoblefriction
and
wear.Next,
place
the
arrowrest
or
horizontalmicroadjusterdevice(whichevertype
supplied)
onthebow
Proceedwith
the
followinginstructions
for
nocking
pointplacement.
INSTALLINGTHENOCKINGPOINT
Install
the
enclosedclamp-onnockingpoint
onthe
bowst/ing.Using
a bow
square,initiallyposition
the
nockingpoint
on
th^bowstring
so
thatthenock
end
ofthe
arrow
is
approximately

If
clamped
firmly
(butnottoo
tightly)over
a
monofilamentcenterserving,
the
nocking
point
conbe
threaded"
upand
down

servingwhiletuningyour
bow
until
the
finaladjustment

inplace.
