GETTING STARTED
1. You must turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable. If engine has run within
the past two hours, let it cool down.
NOTE: Disconnecting the negative battery cable erases pre-programmed electronic memories. Write down all
memory settings before disconnecting the negative battery cable. Some radios will require an anti-theft code
to be entered after the battery is re-connected. The anti-theft code is typically supplied with your owner’s
manual. In the event your vehicle’s anti-theft code cannot be recovered, contact an authorized dealership to
obtain your vehicle’s anti-theft code. We also highly recommend NOT discarding any stock parts after the
installation.
2. Remove the engine cover by removing the 4 bolts
indicated in the image above.
3. Unplug the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor harness
from the MAF sensor. Then, loosen the hose clamp
securing the intake tube to the air box.

4. Loosen the hose clamp on the stock intake tube at
the throttle body.
5. Use a pair of pliers to pinch and move the hose
clamp back on the breather hose, then pull the hose
off of the valve cover.
6. Pull off the intake tube from the throttle body side
first, then the air box, to remove the tube from the
engine bay.
7. Use a 10mm socket to remove the bolt indicated on
the air box assembly. Then, pull up on the entire
assembly to dislodge it from the rubber grommet
underneath, and remove it from the engine bay.
8. Optional but recommended for a cleaner look.
Remove the air box support bracket, which is secured
by two 10mm bolts.
9. Press the 2.75" to 3" silicone reducer onto the
throttle body, along with the correct T-bolt clamps, but
only tighten the clamp on the throttle body for now.

10. Press the HPS intake pipe into the reducer, but do
not tighten the clamp, as the pipe may need to be
adjusted later on.
11. Use a Phillips-head (cross) screwdriver to remove
the 4 screws indicated, and remove the MAF housing
from the stock air box.
12. Prepare the MAF housing for installation by using
the MAF adapter, and the three m6x16mm long bolts
provided in the hardware kit.
13. Install the bolts as shown in the image above. The
remaining bolt hole will be used to mount the bracket.
14. Press the remaining reducer onto the HPS intake
pipe along with the provided T-bolt clamps.
15. Press the MAF housing assembly into the reducer
but do not tighten the T-bolt clamps yet.

16. Remove the bolt indicated in the image, next to the
grommet for the stock air box.
17. Install the provided 1" vibration mount into the bolt
hole from step 16.
18. Use the m6 20mm long bolt along with a washer to
mount the bracket onto the MAF housing. Use a m6
nut and washer to secure the bracket onto the rubber
mount.
19. Reconnect the MAF sensor harness to the MAF
sensor.
20. Connect the EPDM hose provided for you to the
HPS intake pipe and the valve cover breather port..
21. Refer to your vehicle's service manual to remove
the front bumper.

22. Use a 10mm socket to remove the 2 bolts securing
the air resonator
23. Press the silicone hump coupler onto the MAF
adapter along with corresponding T-bolt clamps, and
tighten the T-bolt clamp on the MAF adapter.
24. Fit the cold air intake pipe into the engine bay, and
press the end of the pipe into the hump coupler. Do
not tighten the T-bolt clamp yet as the pipe may need
to be adjusted.
25. Remove the bolt indicated in the image for the next
step.
26. Install the 1/2" vibration mount into the bolt hole
from Step 25.
27. Install the cold air intake bracket onto the vibration
mount and intake pipe with the provided hardware.

28. Install the air filter onto the cold air intake pipe.
29 .Reverse the instructions in your vehicle's service
manual to reinstall your bumper.
Final Steps
Once the intake has been positioned, tighten all of the clamps and secure all of the parts.
Upon completion of the installation, reconnect the negative battery terminal before you start the engine. Double check to
make sure everything is tight and properly positioned before starting the vehicle.
Start the engine. Let the car idle for 3 minutes. Perform a final inspection before driving. Listen carefully for any odd
noises, rattles and/or air leaks prior to taking it for a test drive. If any problems arise go back and check the vacuum lines,
hoses and clamps that may be causing leaks or rattles and correct the problem.
Periodically, recheck the alignment of the intake system and make sure there is proper clearance around and along the
length of the intake. Failure to follow proper maintenance procedures may cause damage to the intake and will void the
warranty.
This HPS performance cold air intake system has been designed to be used in two different configurations. In the
case of inclement weather, the cold air tube can be removed and the air filter can be clamped onto the intake tube
located in the engine compartment to avoid the possibility of ingesting water into the engine.
