1Overview
The H3G-TA battery monitoring system consists of TA module, TC module and
control module. The control module with an LCD display and can upload data via
RS485 or network port. During remote monitoring, a computer can be connected to
the battery monitoring device through the network or serial port. Special monitoring
service software needs to be installed on the computer to provide data viewing and
remote control. In addition, according to the specific situation on site, it may also
include installing cabinets, etc.

3Installation
3.1 Numbering the Batteries
Before connecting the TA Modules to the batteries, the batteries should be
numbered and labeled correctly by using a label to paste on the surface of the battery
where the labels are easy to be seen. The first battery, or, battery NO.1 must be the
first one on the string positive terminal, the NO.2 is the battery following the NO.1
battery, and so on. The last battery is the one attached closest to the string negative
terminal. The batteries must be numbered in accordance with this method.

3.2 TA Test Cable Installation
Each battery should be connected to one TA test cable on its poles. Put the red
cable on the positive pole of the battery (See (1)), and the black ones for the negative
pole (See (2)).

Figure 3-2-1
It should be noted that the TA test cable must be installed outside the
connection bar (cable) between the batteries, and it is not allowed to be
sandwiched between the battery pole and the connection bar, starting from the
near battery end, in this order: battery pole → connection strip → battery
monitoring terminal → flat gasket → spring gasket → nut, as shown below:

battery pole screw must be checked and marked, the specific method is as follows:
After confirming that the bolts are tightened with a torque wrench, use a marker
to mark the screws as shown below.
Figure 3-2-3
When adjusting and loosening the bolts of the battery pole connection strip
and restoring the battery string breakpoint, the module and the test cable must
be disconnected first. It is forbidden to perform the above operations when the
module and the test cable are connected, otherwise themodule will bedamaged.
The following sequence must be followed when installing and removing
modules:
When installing: install the test cable first, then connect the module
When disassembling, first disconnect the module from the test cable, and
then remove the test cable.
3.3 TA Module Installation
Choose a suitable location to install the TA module. Generally, it is directly
attached to the side or front of the battery through the back double-sided adhesive. To
ensure the firmness, it is recommended to use glass glue to reinforce it. Note that
when mounted on the front, it cannot be stuck on the safety valve (as shown in the
following figure (1)).

Generally, the TA module can be fixed in the following three positions:
Position
Installation and
description
Application
Battery side
The module is fixed
with 3M double-sided
tape, which is often
used when the battery
is placed in two rows on
the battery rack or
there is enough space
between the battery
and the battery to
install the module (it is
recommended to use
glass glue to
strengthen)
Battery top
Use the module with
3M double-sided tape
to fix it, which is often
used when there is not
enough place on the
side of the module to
install the module

Battery rack
Use an electric drill to
punch holes in the
battery rack, and fix it
by screwing the ears of
the module with its own
ears. It is often used
when there is not
enough space on the
side and top of the
battery to install the
module
Insert the TA test cable plug to the TA module's J1 port, and connect one end of
the TA communication cable to the COM2 port of the module, and the other end to the
COM1 port of the next module after setting the address. The COM1 and 2 of TA
module functions are completely the same, no need to distinguish; at this time, the TA
module has been powered on and the green light should be always on.
Although the TA module consumes only a very small current, if the battery
is not charged for a long time (more than one month) after installation, it is
recommended to unplug the TA test cable from J1 port.
3.4 Address Setting for TA/TC Module
Method 1: Using TA address modifier to set TA/TC module address
Take the 2 strings and 32 cells per string as an example,
TA address of string 1 is set to: 1 ~ 32, and the TC address is set to: 241
TA address of string 2 is set to: 1 ~ 32, and the TC address is set to: 241.
After the address modification is completed, connect the first string to the
COM1A port of the control module, and the second string to the COM2A port.
Address Setting For TA Module
Turn on the side switch → connect the TA module with a communication cable →
press the "▲ ▼ key" to set the address → press the "Enter" key to confirm the
modification → the status light turns green to indicate that the modification was
successful, and the red light indicates that the modification failed
Address Setting For TC Module
Turn on the side switch → connect the TC module with a communication cable →
press the “ESC” key, set the address via the “▲ ▼ key” → jump to the “H-A” interface

H3G-TA Engineering Manual (CM-02N) B2
Hangzhou Huasu Technology Co., Ltd HTTP://HUASU-TECH.COM// TEL:0571-87967915 18
by pressing the “Enter” key → select “H-C” via the “▲ ▼ key” → press "Enter" to jump
to the "96" interface → press "Enter" to jump to the address interface → press "Enter"
to confirm the modification.
Note:
1. "H-A" means to modify the TA address, turn on the side power switch, and
modify the TA address by default.
2. "H-C" means to modify the TC address, it needs to be changed to the TC
address mode according to the above operation.
3. "96" is the baud rate, modify the TA and TC address, baud rate is all 9600.
4. The factory address of the TA module is 1, and the factory address of the TC
module is 1.
Figure 3-4-1
The TA address modifier can be used to modify the addresses of TA and TC
modules more conveniently and quickly, especially when mass modifying. If you need
TA address modifier, you can contact us directly for purchase.
After the address modification is successful, replace the next module and press
Enter to continue the modification.
The address modification method of TC module is the same as TA module, just
change module type H-A to H-C module.
Method 2: Use the control module to modify the TA and TC module
addresses
Take the 2 strings and 32 cells per string as an example, the TA address of string
1 is set to: 1 ~ 32, and the TC address is set to: 241 (The default addresses of TA and
TC are both 1). TA address of string 2 is set to: 1 ~ 32, and the TC address is set to:
241. After the address modification is completed, connect the first string to the COM1A
port of the control module, and the second string to the COM2A port.

When modifying the TA and TC module addresses, only one TA or TC module can
be connected to the COM1A port of the control module each time, and only one
module address can be modified at a time.
First connect a TA module to the positive and negative poles of the battery, then
connect the COM1 port of the TA module to the COM1A port of the control module,
and modify it according to the following steps:
ESC → D Setup (password: 2022) → 4 addr Wr → 4.3 mod addr
Note:The module type is HG-TA and the target address is 2
Note:1 → 2 indicates that the address modification is successful, and
the address is changed from 1 to 2
After the address modification is successful, replace the next module and press
Enter to continue the modification.
The modification method of the TC module address is the same as the TA module,
just change the module type H3G-TA to TC module.
Method 3: Use "H3G-TA Debugging Tool" to modify the addresses of TA

First, connect the TA module to the positive and negative poles of the battery, and
connect them as shown in the following figure. Connect only one TA or TC module at
a time:
