1 Touchscreen display
Touch the screen to operate the computer.
2 Fingerprint power button
After enrolling a ngerprint, simply press the power button with the enrolled nger
to power on and unlock the computer without having to enter a password.
3 Recessed camera
Press the button to reveal the camera. You can then use it in Camera or other apps
to take photos or make video chats. Press the button again to hide the camera.
4 Camera indicator
Indicates the camera's status. Lights up steady white when the camera is active.
5 Speaker x 4
The speakers output sound.
6 Microphone
Use the microphone to conduct video meetings, voice calls, or make audio
recordings.
7 Touchpad
•Supports HUAWEI Free Touch which lets you control the computer more easily.
To learn more, read the Touchpad section.
•Tap the NFC detection area on some Huawei phones against the Huawei Share
sensor to use Huawei Share.
Huawei Share sensor is located approximately in the centre of the touchpad. It is
not externally visible.

8 Headset jack
Connects to a headset.

9 USB-C port
•Connects the power adapter to charge the computer.
•Connects external displays such as monitors and projectors via a docking station.
•Connects to mobile phones, USB drives, and other external devices to transfer
les.
10 Charging indicator
Indicates the battery's charge status when charging:
•Blinks white when charging.
•Steady white when the computer is fully charged and stops charging.
11 USB-A (USB 3.2 Gen 1) port
Connects to mobile phones, USB drives, and other external devices to transfer data.
12 Camera drainage hole
The camera is connected to a water drainage hole below the computer. If you
accidentally spill a small amount of liquid on the camera, it will drain out from the
drainage hole. Note that spilling liquid on the keyboard may damage the computer.
Powering on and o
When powering on the computer for the rst time, connect the power adapter, and the
computer will power on automatically. The computer will enter the startup screen shortly
after the screen lights up.
When the computer is powered o, press the Power button until the screen or keyboard
lights up to power on or wake the computer.
When using the computer, click > to sleep, shut down, or restart the computer.
Press and hold the power button for approximately 10 seconds to force shutdown the
computer. Force shutdowns may cause unsaved data to be lost. Use with caution.
Keyboard
Keyboard keys may vary depending on your device model.
Shortcut keys
The F keys, such as F1 and F2, are used as shortcut keys (hotkeys) by default to allow you to
easily perform common actions.
Decrease screen brightness.
Increase screen brightness.

Enable, disable, or adjust the brightness of the keyboard backlight.
If there is no icon on the key, the keyboard does not have a
backlight.
Mute or unmute.
Decrease the volume.
Increase the volume.
Enable or disable the microphone.
Switch projection mode.
Enable or disable Wi-Fi.
Open PC Manager.
Switching between shortcut and function key modes
In function key mode, the F keys have dierent functions depending on the software that is
running.
To use the F keys as function keys, you can:
•Press the Fn key and the indicator will light up. The F keys will then work as function keys.
To return to shortcut key (hotkey) mode, press the Fn key then the indicator will turn o.
•To make the F keys work as function keys by default, open PC Manager and go to Settings
> System Settings to enable Function key priority. To switch back to hotkey mode, enable
Hotkey priority.
Touchpad
The touchpad provides similar functionality to a mouse and is a convenient way to control
the computer.
Not all gestures are available in all apps.

Tap with one nger: Left-click.
Tap twice with one nger: Double-click.
Slide with one nger: Move the cursor.
Press the left touchpad button: Left-click.
Press the right touchpad button: Right-click.
Tap with two ngers: Right-click.
Slide up or down with two ngers: Scroll up or down.
Pinch in or stretch out with two ngers: Zoom in or out.

Tap with three ngers: Open search.
Slide up with three ngers: See all open windows.
Slide down with three ngers: Show the desktop.
Slide left or right with three ngers: Switch between open
windows.
Tap with four ngers: Open action centre.
Modify touchpad settings
You can modify touchpad settings to suit your own preferences.
1Click > to open Settings.
2On the Settings screen, click , then click to:
•Enable or disable the touchpad.
•Automatically enable or disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected.
•Change the touchpad scroll direction.
•Congure touchpad gestures.
Set up HUAWEI Free Touch
The touchpads support HUAWEI Free Touch that is enabled by default. You can adjust the
touchpad sensitivity and vibration strength to suit your own preferences.
Click to open the Start menu, then open HUAWEI Free Touch to modify the touchpad
settings.

Charging the computer
The computer will display a prompt when the battery is running low. If you see this prompt,
charge your computer as soon as possible or it will aect your normal use.
Charging the computer with a power adapter
The computer features a non-removable rechargeable battery. Connect the power adapter
and charging cable to charge the computer. The battery charges more quickly when the
computer is powered o or in Sleep mode.
Safety information
•Charge the computer at room temperature in a well-ventilated, shaded area. Charging the
computer in hot environments may damage the internal components.
•Charging duration may vary based on the ambient temperature and battery use.
•It is normal for the computer to become warm after prolonged use or charging. If it
becomes hot to the touch, disable non-essential features and disconnect the charger.
•The battery is subject to wear over time. If the computer's standby time appears to have
fallen, do not attempt to replace the battery by yourself. Instead, take the computer and
proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
Battery status
The battery status is indicated by the battery icon in the taskbar.
: Indicates that the charger is connected. Click to view the estimated charging time.
: Indicates that the charger is not connected. Click to view the battery percentage
and battery time.
The charging time and remaining battery life displayed are estimated by the operating
system. The actual time may vary.

Getting started
Step 1: Connecting to a network
Click in the lower right corner of the desktop. Select a Wi-Fi network and follow the
instructions to establish a connection.
Step 2: Activating Windows
Windows will activate automatically when you connect to the Internet for the rst time. Click
> > > to check if Windows has been activated.
If Windows cannot be activated, restart the computer, connect to the network, and try again.
If the issue persists, connect to a dierent network or wait a while before trying again.
If Windows is not activated, some features on your computer may be restricted.
Step 3: Enrolling a ngerprint
If you skipped the ngerprint enrolment process during the initial setup, click > >
> . Select Windows Hello Fingerprint, then follow the instructions to enrol your
ngerprint.
•Ensure that your ngertips are clean and dry, or your ngerprint may not be enrolled
correctly.
•Each user can enrol up to 10 ngerprints.

Step 4: Updating the drivers
You can manage drivers in PC Manager. If driver updates are available, follow the instructions
to complete the updates.
Check and update your drivers regularly to improve the stability and performance of the
computer.

Huawei Share
More than just a tap: Project a virtual version of your phone on the laptop. Control apps and
les on your phone easily using your laptop. Drag to transfer les instantly between the two
and share clipboards.
•Multi-Screen Collaboration: Easily access phone apps and les on the computer, as well as
answer voice and video calls to your phone. Drag and drop to transfer les between your
phone and computer.
•Sharing les: Tap your phone on the computer to share les. Shake your phone to record
the computer screen.
•Sync data: Copy content from your phone to the computer and vice versa with a shared
clipboard. Updated les on your phone can also be automatically synced to the computer.

Finger Gesture Screenshot (supported by some
touchscreen models)
Use Finger Gesture Screenshot to capture a window, the whole screen, or a selection of the
screen.
•Some touchscreen computers with PC Manager 9.1 or later support Finger Gesture
Screenshot.
•When using Finger Gesture Screenshot for the rst time, you must open PC Manager
and agree to the User Agreement.

1Slide down with three ngers on the touchscreen. The screen will dim, and blue guidelines
will appear on the screen.
2Use any of the gestures below to take a screenshot. If the gesture is not recognised, a
screenshot will not be taken, but you will remain in the screenshot interface.
• Selection: Draw a diagonal line to capture a rectangular area.
• Window: Draw a diagonal line across a window to capture the window.
• Screen: Touch the screen with one nger to capture the whole screen.
• Custom: Draw an enclosed area to capture that part of the screen.
Eye Comfort mode
Enable Eye Comfort mode when using the computer for prolonged periods to prevent eye
strain and fatigue.
Right-click any empty space on the desktop, click , and enable Eye Comfort.
The screen will have a slightly yellow hue when Eye Comfort mode is enabled.

F10 factory reset (not available in some regions)
The computer's built-in F10 factory reset feature can quickly restore your computer to its
initial or factory state.
•All data on the C drive will be deleted during a factory reset. Make sure to back up
your data before proceeding.
•This feature is not available in some countries and regions.
1Connect the computer to the power adapter. Then, press the Power button, and press F10
for multiple times constantly or hold F10 to access the restore screen.
2Follow the instructions to perform a factory reset.

Using the Start menu
Use the Start menu to access apps, settings, and les on your computer.
Click to open the Start menu.

Action centre
The action centre displays notications for updates, incoming emails, and more. It also
provides quick actions that allow you to quickly enable or disable features or congure
relevant settings.
Click in the lower right corner of the desktop to open action centre. You can then:
•Quickly open Settings, projection options, and more.

•Quickly access frequently used settings (such as Battery saver, Flight mode, screen
brightness, and more).

MateDock (optional)
Use the MateDock to connect your computer to external devices such as projectors, TVs, and
USB drives.
The MateDock is an optional accessory and is sold separately.

USB-A
HDMI VGA USB-C
USB-C
USB-C cable Connects to the USB-C port on the computer.
USB-A port Connects to USB devices, such as a USB mouse, keyboard, USB drive, or
network adapter.
HDMI port Connects to HDMI displays, such as a TV.
VGA port Connects to VGA displays, such as a monitor.
USB-C port Connects to USB-C devices.

Connecting a TV, monitor, or projector
Connect the computer to an external display such as a TV, monitor, or projector when
watching lms or giving presentations.
•In addition to the computer, MateDock, and external display, you will also need an
HDMI or VGA cable.
•Check the type of port on the external display before connecting.
•The method for connecting the computer to an external display via HDMI and VGA are
approximately the same. The instructions below are for connecting via HUAWEI
MateDock 2.
•The HDMI and VGA ports cannot be used simultaneously.
1As shown in the gure, connect the computer to a TV, monitor, or projector using a
MateDock.
2Connect the external display to a power supply and turn it on.

3Press the key in hotkey mode, or click > in the lower right corner of the
desktop to open the projection options. Then, select a projection mode.
•: Only displays the desktop on the computer. Nothing is shown on the external display.
•: Duplicates the desktop to the external display.
•: Extends the desktop to the external display. Items can be moved between both
screens.
•: Only displays the desktop on the external display. Nothing is shown on the computer
screen.
Connecting a USB mouse, printer, or other device
Use the USB-A port on the MateDock to connect USB devices such as mice, printers,
scanners, and external hard drives.
Connecting a USB device
1Connect the device's USB cable to the USB-A port on the MateDock.
2If the device requires a power supply, connect it before powering it on.
3The computer will automatically install all required drivers when you connect a USB
device for the rst time.
Viewing connected devices
1Click to open the Start menu.
2Click > to view all connected devices.
Bluetooth mouse (optional)
Huawei Bluetooth mouses can be connected to the computer using Bluetooth. When using
the Bluetooth mouse for the rst time, you need to pair it with the computer.
Getting to know the Bluetooth mouse
The Bluetooth mouse is an optional accessory and is sold separately.

If the indicator blinks red, the battery is low on power
and should be replaced.

Install the battery
As illustrated below, remove the battery cover from the mark located at the bottom end of
the mouse. Insert one AA battery, making sure to match the + and - signs in the battery
compartment. Close the cover.
Pairing the Bluetooth mouse with the computer
Mouse
1Toggle the Bluetooth pairing switch at the bottom of the mouse to for approximately 3
seconds. Once the indicator starts blinking, the Bluetooth mouse is ready to pair.
2On the computer, click > > then click to add Bluetooth devices. Select
Huawei Mouse in the available device list and wait a moment for pairing to nish.
