Hunter F1 31MHz
Parts Name & Function
1. Antenna – Removable flexible rubber antenna.
2. ON/OFF – Volume – Rotate clockwise for switching the radio ON
and increase the volume. Rotate counter clockwise for decreasing
the volume and switching the radio OFF.
3. Rotary selector – Rotate clockwise or counter clockwise for
selecting operating channel or function.
4. LED indicator – [Green]: the radio is receiving a signal, or
squelch is open. [Red]: the radio is transmitting.
[Red blinking]: low battery warning.
5. PTT (Push-To-Talk) – Press and hold for transmitting, speak into
the microphone (13) with normal voice. Release for receiving.
6. Squelch (Monitor) – Press shortly for opening the squelch
momentarily. Press and hold 3 seconds for opening the squelch
constantly, then press shortly for closing.
7. Keypad lock – Press and hold 2 seconds for enabling or
disabling the keypad lock. When enabled all keys except PTT (5)
and Squelch (6) are locked.
8. CLR – Returning key inside Function Mode.
9. FUNC – Function key for accessing Function Mode and selecting different radio functions. Press
and hold 1 second for accessing Function Mode, then rotate the Rotary selector (3) for selecting
different radio functions.
10. ENTER – Confirming key inside Function Mode, for saving the setting.
11. Display – Backlighted display, showing operating channel and functions. The backlight is
automatically activated for 15 seconds whenever a key is pressed, except PTT (5).
12. Accessory connector – Connectors for connecting external speaker/microphone or headset.
[MIC]: microphone 2,5mm. [SP]: speaker 3,5mm.
13. Microphone – Internal, built-in microphone.
14. Speaker – Internal, built-in speaker.

Display symbol description
1. – Battery level indicator, displays the battery level.
2. – Displays operating channel or function.
3. – Appears when keypad lock is enabled.
4. – Indicates received signal strength when receiving, output power when
transmitting.
5. – Appears when channel is selected at the scanning list.
6. – Appears when scrambler function is enabled on the radio.
7. – Appears when low output power (1W) is selected on the channel.
7. – Appears when high output power (5W) is selected on the channel.
9. – Not used on this radio model.
10. – Appears when VOX function is enabled on the radio.
11. – Appears when Whispering function is enabled on the radio.
12. – Appears when Beep tone function is enabled on the radio.

Start scanning:
1. Press FUNC 1 second, [SCAN is displayed].
2. Press ENTER for starting scanning function.
Stop scanning:
Press CLR.
Adding/Deleting a channel from the Scanning list:
1. Select operating channel with the rotary selector.
2. Press FUNC 1 second then turn the rotary selector clockwise one step, [SCAN L is displayed].
3. Press ENTER for displaying the channels current setting.
4. Turn the rotary selector and select ON for adding or OFF for removing the channel from the list.
5. Press ENTER for saving the selected list setting, [selected setting and ois displayed].
6. Press CLR once for returning to Function Mode, twice for returning to start position.
Change Output Power on selected channel:
1. Select operating channel with the rotary selector.
2. Press FUNC 1 second then turn the rotary selector clockwise two steps, [POW is displayed].
3. Press ENTER for displaying the channels current setting.
4. Turn the rotary selector and select HI for high or LO for low output power.
5. Press ENTER for saving the selected power setting, [selected setting and ois displayed].
6. Press CLR once for returning to Function Mode, twice for returning to start position.
Change radio Squelch level:
1. Press FUNC 1 second then turn the rotary selector clockwise three steps, [SQ L is displayed].
2. Press ENTER for displaying the current radio setting.
3. Turn the rotary selector and select new level from L 1 to L 9.
5. Press ENTER for saving the selected level, [selected level and ois displayed].
6. Press CLR once for returning to Function Mode, twice for returning to start position.
Note!
If selecting L 0, squelch will be constantly open and the Squelch key operation (6) will be disabled.
Enable/Disable radio Beep tone function:
1. Press FUNC 1 second then turn the rotary selector clockwise four steps, [BEEP is displayed].
2. Press ENTER for displaying the current radio setting.
3. Turn the rotary selector and select ON for enabling or OFF for disabling the beep tone.
4. Press ENTER for saving the selected beep tone setting, [selected setting and ois displayed].
5. Press CLR once for returning to Function Mode, twice for returning to start position.

Enable/Disable radio Whispering function:
1. Press FUNC 1 second then turn the rotary selector clockwise five steps, [WHISP is displayed].
2. Press ENTER for displaying the current radio setting.
3. Turn the rotary selector and select ON for enabling or OFF for disabling the whispering.
4. Press ENTER for saving the selected whispering setting, [selected setting and ois displayed].
5. Press CLR once for returning to Function Mode, twice for returning to start position.
Enable/Disable radio VOX function:
1. Press FUNC 1 second then turn the rotary selector clockwise six steps, [VOX is displayed].
2. Press ENTER for displaying the current radio setting.
3. Turn the rotary selector and select from L 1 to L 9 for enabling and selecting sensitivity or OFF for
disabling VOX.
4. Press ENTER for saving the selected VOX setting, [selected setting and ois displayed].
5. Press CLR once for returning to Function Mode, twice for returning to start position.
Note!
L 1 is most sensitive (for quiet environment); L 9 is least sensitive (for noisy environment).
Enable/Disable radio Scrambler function:
1. Press FUNC 1 second then turn the rotary selector clockwise seven steps, [SCRAM is displayed].
2. Press ENTER for displaying the current radio setting.
3. Turn the rotary selector and select ON for enabling or OFF for disabling the scrambler.
4. Press ENTER for saving the selected scrambler setting, [selected setting and ois displayed].
5. Press CLR once for returning to Function Mode, twice for returning to start position.
