■ BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Theareawithina15mperimeterof
thepersonusingtheproductshould
beconsideredadangerousarea
thatnooneshouldenter.Where
necessary,ayellowwarningrope
orwarningsignsshouldbeplaced
aroundtheperimeterofthearea.
Whenthejobhastobecarriedoutby
twoormorepeopleatthesametime,
caremustbetakentoconstantlylook
aroundandtoascertainthelocation
ofotherpeopleperformingthework
inordertomaintainenoughdistance
betweeneachpersontoensure
safety.
2. Checktheconditionsofthework
areatopreventaccidentsasaresult
ofhittinghiddenobstructions,such
asstumps,stones,cansorbroken
glass.

3. Inspecttheentireunit,searching
forloosefastenersandfuelleaks.

5. Alwaysusetheharness.Adjustthe
harnessbeforestartingtheengine.
Theharnessmustbeadjustedsothat
thelefthandcancomfortablygripthe
handleatapproximatelywaistheight.
■ STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Maintainadistanceofatleast
15mbetweenpedestriansand
animalsandthepointofoperation.
Ifsomeoneisapproachingyou,stop
theengineimmediately.
2. Theproductisequippedwitha
centrifugalclutchmechanism,
wherebythecuttingequipment
beginstorotateassoonasthe
enginestartstorun,oncethethrottle
isputintothestartposition.When
startingtheengine,placetheproduct
ontheground,onaat,smootharea
andholditrmlyinplacetoensure
thatneitherthecuttingheadorthe
acceleratorcomeintocontactwith
anyobstructionsoncetheengine
starts.
WARNING
Never put the throttle in the high-
speed position when starting the
engine.
3. Afterstartingtheengine,ensurethat
thecuttingequipmentstopsrotating
whenthethrottleisfullyshutoffand
returnedtoitsoriginalposition.Ifit
continuestorevolveevenafterthe
throttlehasbeencompletelyshut
off,turnofftheengineandtakethe
unittoyourHUSQVARNAauthorized
serviceworkshopforrepair.

1. Gripthehandlesrmlywithboth
handsandwiththewholehand.
Spreadyourfeetslightly(justbeyond

evenlydistributedbetweenbothlegs
andalwaysmakesureyoumaintain
asteadyandbalancedstancewhile
youwork.
2. Keepthecuttingequipmentbelow
waistlevel.
3. Maintainenginespeedatthelevel
requiredtoperformthecuttingwork
andneverincreaseenginespeed
abovethenecessarylevel.
4. Iftheunitstartstoshakeorvibrate,
shutofftheengineandcheckthe
entireunit.Donotusetheunituntil
theproblemhasbeenproperly
resolved.
5. Keepallbodypartsawayfromthe
rotarycuttingaccessoryandhot
surfaces.
6. Donottouchthemufer,thespark
plugorothermetalpartsofthe
enginewhiletheengineisrunningor
immediatelyaftertheengineisshut
off.Thiscouldcauseseriousburnsor
electricalshock.
