ASSEMBLY TIPS
The top part of the metal shipping frame is easily removed to facilitate assembly by
removing the four mounting bolts at the base.
To install the wheels, the machine must be lifted. Use the two lift hooks on top of the
machine if a loader or forklift of suitable capacity are available. The machine weighs
about 1,100 lbs. If not, the machine can be mounted to and lifted with the tractor’s 3
point hitch. The front of the baler must be lifted and raised off of the pin mounting
brackets first.
Once the baler is free of the frame, it can be fully attached to the 3 point hitch. Raise
the baler up off of the pallet and remove it, then install the wheels. The hardware for
the wheels is in the twine chamber and includes a bolt, washer, and lock nut for each
side. The wheel has two dust cover caps. Be sure these are secure. Medium strength
thread locker is suggested to keep them from coming off.
The baler is shipped without the net wrap feeding lever installed, to avoid damage
during shipping. Remove the small red guard on the upper part of the machine, on the
right side (left and right are as if the baler is attached to the tractor, and the operator
is sitting on the tractor facing forward). Install the lever as shown in the image below
using the roll pin. Then attach the eye of the lift rod to the outside face of the lever
using the screw, as shown.

Then install the return spring as shown below.
A free roll of net comes installed in the machine. Note how it is installed for future
reference, and refer to the owner’s manual for tips on installing a new roll.
Remember to oil all chains before using the machine, including the pickup chain which
is on the lower part of the machine on the left side, obscured by a metal cover.
As with any new implement, the PTO shaft may need to be cut to length. This is a
common task and there are several videos and written guides found on the internet;

STARTUP ESSENTIALS
Please be sure to review the owner’s manual for full details on how to properly and
safely operate the machine. Some of the questions you have will likely be answered in
the owner’s manual.
Be sure to get to know and fully test the machine prior to the first use. Try cutting,
raking, and baling a small section of your field as practice, when there is no pressure to
get the hay crop in before a storm, etc. This is important because the machine is new
to you, and it will take some time to become accustomed to how the machine
operates. If your first use is during a live baling session and you run into problems,
there is a risk that the cut hay will be left in the field longer than desirable, and you risk
losing a good hay crop.

The machine comes with a 9V battery that powers the bale chamber full alarm. The
battery is inside a battery box that is enclosed in a grey outer weather-proofing box as
shown in Figure 1. The battery box has a switch that is turned off by default. Before
using the machine, be sure to open the grey box, turn on the switch, and test that the
horn is getting power. You can do this by depressing the sensor switch shown in Figure
2 below.

Spare shear bolts are located on the left side of the machine inside the front door. The
bolt is installed on the front-most sprocket. It will shear if excess strain is placed on the
machine to protect it. It is not normal to shear multiple bolts during normal use.
When raking, create a windrow that is not too large and not too small for the baler.
The optimal windrow will have a width of 28-32 inches and a height of 12-16 inches.
The more uniform the windrows, the smoother the operation will be and the more
consistent the bale weights will be.
