TALKING INDOOR/OUTDOOR THERMOMETER
FORMAT: The item is rectangular in shape and has two
digital display screens on the face of the item. Holding
the item with the display screens facing up and pointing
away from you, the talking speaker and small round
talking button are located directly below the display
screens. Holding the two side edges of the item on the
opposite side of display screens, gently slide the cover of
the item towards you to expose the control panel. There
are two rows of buttons on the control panel indicated from
left to right as follows.

ON/OFF Button, Small round Clear Button, Small round
Manual MIN/MAX Button.
On Back-side of Item on end facing away from you, there
is small round hole that is used to hang the unit on wall.
Above the wall mount hole is the battery compartment.
Small raised bumps directly above the wall mount hole are
tiny raised grips to be used to slide off battery
compartment door.
FEATURES

Announcement At Alarm —Allows you to hear the
temperature announcement at the pre-set alarm time.
Hourly Temperature Announcement —allows you
to hear the temperature every hour, except between
9:00 PM and 7:00AM (between 2100 and 700) to
avoid waking you.

High Temperature and Freezing Point Alerts –
Alerts you when the temperature goes above 38°C
(100 °F) or below 0°C (32°F).
Daily High/Low Temperatures —Allows you to find
out the daily high and low temperatures.
Period Max/Min Temperatures —Lets you find out
the high and low temperatures for a specified time
frame.
Volume Control and On/Off —Allows you to either
adjust or turn on and off the volume of the voice
announcements
°C and °F —Lets you choose what temperature scale
you prefer.
INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
Your thermometer is powered by two (AAA) batteries. We
recommend alkaline batteries. Follow these steps to
install the batteries:

1.Slide off the battery compartment door in the direction
of the arrow, located above the raised bumps at the
top rear of the unit.
2.Place two fresh (AAA) batteries in the battery
compartment with the flat/negative (-) end of each
battery towards the spring. If batteries are inserted
correctly the unit will beep 4 times.
3.Replace the battery compartment door.
4.It is recommended that the batteries be removed if the
unit is not going to be used for a long period of time.
Notes:
1.If the thermometer does not work after installing the
batteries, try removing and re-installing them, or use
new batteries.
2.If voice announcements sound weak or the display
dims, replace the batteries.

MOUNTING THE THERMOMETER AND REMOTE
PROBE
Your thermometer is designed to be wall or desk mounted.
The indoor temperature probe is built into the unit. The
out-door temperature probe (remote probe) is connected
to the unit by a cable and should be placed outside the
house.
Installation
1.Select the location where you want to use the
thermometer. If you want to wall-mount it, first drive a
screw into the wall and then hang the thermometer on
it using the hole on the back of the unit.
2.Route and secure the outdoor probe cable from the
thermometer unit through the window to outside the
house.
3.Secure the probe to the outside wall using a screw.

Cautions:
1.Do not place the thermometer or its remote probe in
direct sunlight. Doing so may cause erroneous
readings.
2.Keep the thermometer and the remote probe away
from sources of heat or cold, such as stoves, heating
and air conditioning vents, and radiators.
3.Do not place thermometer in water or anywhere it
might get wet.
Operation
Adjusting the Volume –slide open the lower cover to
expose function control buttons. Press repeatedly
VOLUME to select the volume of announcements and the
chime. The display indicates three choices. “<<<<.” For
high volume, “<<. For low volume, and “no display” for
volume off.
Using Mode Button
By repeatedly pressing MODE, you can have 4 different
display modes on LCD.

1 Beep - Upper display will show Indoor temperature and
Lower display will show the time.
2 Beeps –Upper display will show the Time and Lower
display will show the Outdoor Temperature.
3 Beeps –Upper display will show the Time and Lower
display will show the Alarm Time.
4 Beeps –Upper display will show the Indoor Temperature
and Lower display will show the Outdoor Temperature.
SETTING THE TIME
1. Press MODE repeatedly until 1 Beep is heard and the
time is shown on the lower display.
2. Repeatedly press HR SET to set the current hour. The
display shows PM for a PM hour. If you press and hold
down the HR SET, the hour advances quickly.
3. Repeatedly press MIN SET to set the current minute. If
you press and hold down MIN SET, the minute advances
quickly.
4.Press MODE 4 times to hear 4 Beeps to change to
indoor/outdoor temperature display mode.

ANNOUNCING THE CURRENT IN/OUT
To announce the current indoor/outdoor temperature,
press TALKING. The unit always announces the In/Out
temperature regardless which of the four display modes
you are in.
Turning the Hourly Announcement On or OFF
You can set the thermometer to announce the current
indoor/outdoor temperatures at the beginning of each
hour.
To turn the hourly announcement, slide HR Report to On
(((*))) appears on the display. There will be no
announcement between 9:00 PM and & 7:00 AM
(Between 21:00 and 7:00), so not to disturb your sleep.
Turn off the hourly announcement, slide HR Report switch
to OFF position. To turn on slide the switch to ON
position.

USING THE ALARM FOR TEMPERATURE
ANNOUNCEMENT
You can have the thermometer reports the IN/OUT
temperature at a preset alarm time, for example as a
wake-up announcement in the morning.
Following these steps to set the alarm time.
1. Pres MODE repeatedly until “Beep, Beep, Beep” is
heard and the alarm time shown on the lower
display. The alarm time has a “AL” in between the
hour digits and the minute digits.
2. Repeatedly press HR SET to set the alarm hour.
The display shows PM for a PM hour. If you press
and hold down HR SET, the hour advances quickly.
3. Repeatedly press MIN SET to set the alarm minute.
If you press and hold down MIN SET the minutes
advances quickly.

4. Press MODE once to hear “Beep, Beep, Beep,
Beep” and the unit returns to indoor/outdoor
temperature display mode.
5. Press ALM ON/OFF repeatedly to turn on the alarm
and a bell appears on the display.
6. Make sure the volume is on. There will be no
announcement if the volume is set to 0. At the
preset alarm time, the unit announces IN/OUT
temperatures five times. Then the unit
announcement, press TALKING. If you want to
turn off the announcement completely, press ALM
ON/OFF.
ANNOUNCING DAILY HIGH/LOW TEMPERATURE
This unit records daily lowest and highest temperatures
and the time at which these temperatures occur.
To hear the announcement of the highest and lowest
in/out temperatures of the day, follow these steps.

1. Press Daily MIN/MAX to announce the indoor
highest temperature. The upper display shows the
temperature and the lower display indicates the
time at which the highest temperature occurs.
DAILY MAX appears on both displays.
2. Press again DAILY MIN/MAX to announce the
indoor lowest temperature. DAILY MIN appears on
the display.
3. Press again DAILY MIN/MAX to announce the
highest temperature. DAILY MAX appears on the
display
4. Press again DAILY MIN/MAX to announce the
outdoor lowest temperature. DAILY MIN appears
on the display.
5. Press again DAILY MIN/MAX will return to the
display mode prior to using the Daily Min/Max
function.

6. In the Daily Min/Max mode, if no button is pressed
within 1 minute, the unit will automatically return to
the display mode prior to using the Daily Min/Max
function.
ANNOUNCING MANUAL MIN/MAX TEMPERATURE
This unit records the maximum and minimum
temperatures during a specific time period.
Follow these steps to use this function:
1. Press CLEAR to clear (reset) the memory and the
unit will start to record the minimum and maximum
temperatures from then on.
2. Press MANUAL MIN/MAX to announce the indoor
lowest and highest temperatures between the time
when the memory is cleared and the time when you
press MANUA MIN/MAX.
3. Press again MANUAL MIN/MAX to announce the
outdoor lowest and highest temperatures.

4. Press again DAILY MIN/MAX will return to the
display mode prior to using the Daily Min/Max will
return to the display mode prior to using the Daily
Min/Max function.
In the Manual Min/Max mode, if no button is pressed
within 1 minute, the unit will automatically return to the
display mode prior to using the DAILY MIN/MAX
FUNCTION.
HIGH TEMPERATURE AND FREEZING POINT ALERTS
When the indoor or outdoor temperature is above 38
degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit) or below 0
degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) the unit will alert
you by reporting the current outdoor and indoor
temperatures three times. And unit will alert you by
reporting the current outdoor and indoor temperatures
three times. And a flashing dot appears on the display for
temperatures above38 degrees Celsius (100 degrees
Fahrenheit) or a flashing asterisk for temperatures below 0

degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). These
symbols will continue to show on the display until the
temperature is back to normal.
Selecting Celsius and Fahrenheit
The announcement as well as display can be in Celsius or
Fahrenheit. Use the switch to select your choice of
temperature scale.
Note: English version has voice announcement for both
scales. All other languages have voice announcement for
only the Celsius scale and the “Beep” sound for the
Fahrenheit scale.
