Model ITM137
Platform Lift Interlock
2009+ Chevy & GMC Van
and Cutaway Chassis
A. Product Description
This product is intended for installation in 2009+ Ford E-series van and cutaway chassis
with FMVSS 403/404 compliant, commercial public use platform lifts manufactured by
The Braun Corporation, Ricon Corporation or Maxon Mobility. If another type of lift is
to be used, contact the lift manufacturer to determine its compatibility.
The ITM137 interlock system consists of a control module with integral drivers display
and a chassis wiring harnesses. The system monitors the platform lif door and three
additional doors. If any door is not fully closed the DOOR AJAR light will ash. The lift
will be enabled when the vehicle is in Park, the parking brake is set and the lift door
is opened.
The chassis wiring harness contains two plug-and-play T-cables that connect to the
parking brake switch and shift lock solenoid located under the dash. The harness also
contains a set of 18 inch blunt-cut wires to interface with the platform lift system, the
door switches, and 12 volt power.
B. Interlock System Operation
Step 1 - Turn the Ignition Switch on and start the engine.
Step 2 - Press the service brake and place shifter in Park.
Step 3 - Set the parking brake.
• The Shift Lock will activate
Step 4 - Open lift door.
• The display Door Ajar indicator will ash
• The Lift Enable will activate allowing operation of platform lift.
Step 5 - The platform lift may now be operated (Refer to the platform
lift operating instructions).
• During the Lift Enable sequence, if the parking brake is
released the Lift Enable will be deactivated, preventing lift
operation.
Step 6 - When the lift cycle is completed return the lift to its fully
stowed position.
Step 7 - Close the lift door.
Step 8 - Release parking brake. When released, the shift lock will be
automatically released.
Step 9 - The cycle is now complete and the vehicle can be taken out
of Park and driven.
Notes:

ash, but the shifter will not lock unless the parking break is also set.

C. Troubleshooting Tips
1. Obtain the appropriate service/maintenance manual from the platform lift
manufacturer (e.g. Braun, Ricon or Maxon).
2. Obtain the InPower ITM137 interlock system owners manual, document OM-
179. This can be obtained from vehicle manufacturer that installed the lift and
interlock, or from InPower’s web site, www.lnPowerLLC.com.
3. If you experience a problem with the platform lift system, rst isolate the problem
to the platform lift or the interlock system.
4. If the interlock system operates properly but fails to release the shift lock at
the end of the cycle (i.e. can’t shift out of PARK), the likely cause is incorrect
operation of the lift door switch. These inputs to the interlock can be tested by
using the diagnostic LEDs on the ITM137 Driver’s Display (see Owners manual
OM-179 for details).
