1 User and safety instructions
The user and safety instructions section contains basic instructions on how to operate the
inVENTer®iV12-Smart ventilation system safely.
1.1 Safety instructions
Read all the instructions on installation, operation and maintenance of the inVENTer®iV12-Smart
ventilation system provided in this section. Also observe any safety instructions that precede the
operating instructions described.
Before working on the equipment/system, read the safety instructions carefully. Failure to
observe safety instructions may cause personal injury and/or material losses.
The safety instructions in these installation and operating instructions are set out in a standard


iV14 ventilation unit must not be connected directly to the 230 V power supply – it must always
be connected via a controller.

documentation and the controller documentation. Installation, wiring/electrical connection and


persons authorised to install, start up and identify equipment, systems and electrical circuits in
accordance with safety engineering standards.

2 System overview
The inVENTer iV12-Smart ventilation system comprises a wall sleeve in which a thermal
accumulator with fan is installed, an inner cover and a weather protection hood. It is generally


2.2 Function
The inVENTer iV12-Smart ventilation system is designed for the ventilation of living areas and
bedrooms in houses and apartment blocks, hotels and B&Bs, rooms in public facilities and

buildings.

NOTE
Disruption of the thermal insulation composite system.

The ZR8 controller is an electronic unit for controlling up to two inVENTer®iV12-Smart ventilation
units. What sets it apart is its easy installation and simple operating concept.
It allows control of the inVENTer iV12-Smart ventilation system in three modes:
 Heat recovery
 Ventilation
 Pause function (ZR8-Flat only) or
OFF-Mode (ZR8-Standard only)

ZR8-Flat controller is recommended in rooms where the ventilation unit should not be switched
off in order to maintain ventilation to protect against moisture build-up.
Features
 Control of the ventilation unit in three operating modes.
 
 
 LED display subject to the selected operatingmode.
 Synchronisation of multiple controllers.
 Integral thermal circuit breaker.

The ZR8 controller is available in two versions:

The ZR10-D controller is an electronic unit for controlling up to four inVENTer®iV12-Smart
ventilation units. In terms of operation and functionality, it corresponds with the ZR8 controller.
It allows control of the inVENTer®iV12-Smart ventilation system in three modes:
 Heat recovery

 Pause function (ZR10-D-Flat only) or
OFF-Mode (ZR10-D-Standard only)

The MZ-One®controller is an electronic control unit for controlling up to 16
inVENTer®iV12-Smart ventilation units. It comprises a programming unit and up to four
Clust-Air®modules, which can each be connected to up to four inVENTer®iV12-Smart ventilation
units. As a result, it provides separate ventilation for up to four different areas (zones) within a
residential unit.


The running direction of the fan when the controller is started is subject to the alignment of the
plug locking screws.
