Connect wiring harness to the vehicle as listed below:
Pin 1 – Not used
Pin 2 – Red/Yellow: 5V output, used if a speed sensor (e.g., Hall Effect sensor requires a 5V source.
Pin 3 – Black: Ground; connect to a clean ground, such as a factory ground bolt.
Pin 4 – Red: Gauge Power; connect to a circuit that switches on with the key switch. If the circuit does
not have a fuse or the existing fuse is higher than 3 amps, use a 3 amp inline fuse.
Pin 5 – G een: Speedometer input (see input list above ; connect to the output of the speed sensor.
CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN WHEN ROUTING THIS WIRE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO THE
INTERIOR. SECURE THE WIRE SUCH THAT IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH MOVING PARTS AND USE A
GROMMET WHEN PASSING THROUGH THE FIREWALL OR ANY SHARP EDGES.
Pin 6 – O ange: Dimmer; connect to the factory dimmer circuit either by tapping into the in-cab fuse
block or by connecting directly to the wire running from the dimmer on the headlight switch.

3 An optional remote button & harness R72013 is available for versions with a fully sealed face (no front
pushbutton , to allow use of the trip odometer and programming features. Mount the pushbutton in a
0.625” hole, then route the harness to the mounting hole for the gauge. Insert the harness connector
with the wires pointing upwards onto the gauge connector on the back as shown below. For the
programming steps below the remote button can be used, or you can carefully short the two pins of
the remote programming connector together using a small screwdriver for each button press.
PROGRAMMING
User can program the speed light activation level, backlight curve, calibration, and Hall Effect
compatible sensor.
PROGRAM 1 – SPEED LIGHT ACTIVATION
• Hold down the front button while turning on power to the speedometer. The display will read
“Prog”. Release the button after the pointer moves to zero, the display will change to”SPDL”.
• The Back Light should flash once per second to indicate programming mode. The Speed Light
flashes quickly once, then is off for a period of time to indicate Program 1.
• Press the front button for 1 to 4 seconds to enter this program.
• The Speed Light activation level is indicated by the pointer position and the LCD.
• To increment the flashing digit, press the button for less than 1 second.
To advance to the next digit, press the button for 1 to 4 seconds (next digit starts flashing.
• Press the button for more than 5 seconds (when the digit stops flashing to save the value. (To
discard the new value without saving, turn power off and start over .
PROGRAM 2 – BACKLIGHT CURVE (matching the gauge’s dimming curve to the vehicle
Vehicle dash lights must be on du ing this p ocedu e to adjust the gauge lights. Fo best esults, this
should be done in a da k envi onment.
• Hold down the front button while turning on power to the speedometer. The display will read
“Prog”. Release the button after the pointer moves to zero, the display will change to”SPDL”.

• The backlight should start flashing at a rate of 8 flashes/second.
• Move the vehicle dimmer to minimum (dash lights barely visible .
• Press and hold the button for more than 5 seconds. (The gauge will now use this dimmer
voltage to represent the point where the backlight transitions from on to off.
PROGRAM 3 – CALIBRATION NUMBER IN PULSES PER MILE (PPM
The PPM is the number of pulses that the sensor detects per mile. An example is a sensor mounted on
the wheel to detect the number of revolutions.
Default factory PPM is 30,000, thus, calibration may not be required.
• Hold down the front button while turning on power to the speedometer. The display will read
“Prog”. Release the button after the pointer moves to zero, the display will change to”SPDL”.
• Press and release the button twice quickly (less than 1 second per press .

CAL.
• Press and hold the button for 1 to 4 seconds to enter this program.
• The speed light will cease flashing indicating successful entry to Program 3 mode. The pointer
and PPM number display the current value.
• The flashing digit indicates the active digit to be changed.
Pressing the button for less than 1 second will increment the active digit.
Pressing the button for 1 to 4 seconds will make the next digit active, it will start flashing.
Pressing the button for greater than 5 seconds (digit stops flashing will save the value.
To discard the new value without saving, turn power off.
PROGRAM 4 – HALL EFFECT SENSOR COMPATIBLE
Hall Effect Sensors often require the Pin 5 Speedometer input signal to have a pull-up to 5V to operate
properly. The gauge can enable or disable the pull-up as needed.
Default factory setting is regular (Hall Effect Sensor pull-up enabled.
• Hold down the front button while turning on power to the speedometer. The display will read
“Prog”. Release the button after the pointer moves to zero, the display will change to”SPDL”.

inP.
• Press and hold the button for 1 to 4 seconds to enter this program.
• The speed light will cease flashing indicating successful entry to input program mode. The
display with be either rEGULAr (no speed light or HALL (speed light on.
• Pressing the button for less than 1 second will toggle between rEGULAr and HALL.
Pressing the button for greater than 5 seconds will save the value.
To discard the new value without saving, turn power off.
