How to Use This Manual
This manual provides complete instructions for installing and using the
receiver.
The following symbols will serve as follows.

Safety Instructions
Be sure to read this User’s Manual before starting the operation of the receiver.
The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily
accessible.
Never open the cover. It is dangerous to touch the inside of the receiver due
to possible electric hazard.
Take enough space around the receiver for proper ventilation and do not cover
ventilation hole with items as newspaper, clothes etc..
Lethal voltages are present inside the unit. Always be unplugged the receiver
before connecting or disconnecting anything.
When
the receiver
is unused for a long time, please disconnect it from the main
power.
Never expose the receiver to water, moisture and extreme cold or direct sunlight.
Do not insert or drop small objects into the unit.
Never operate the receiver near any heat source.
It is advisable to unplug the unit from the mains, TV, and the satellite dish when a
thunderstorm is expected.
The receiver shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects
filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the unit.
Do not use a damaged power cord that may cause a fire or an electric shock.
Do not touch a power cord with wet hand. It may cause an electric shock.
The installation of a hard disk is only allowed by skilled person or your local
dealer. Unskilled installation of a hard disk would be loss of warranty.
Always unplug the unit from main outlet before cleaning the unit. Do not use
solvents of any kind to clean the unit, only use a soft-dry cloth.

POWER
Turn the receiver on/standby.

Control channel.

DISPLAY (4-digit, 7-segment)
The 4-digit display program number or some menu status. On standby mode, it
will display local time.
SMART CARD SLOT
Insert the card smoothly putting bottom side of Smart Card in direction of IC
down.

SAT IN
Connect the cable. Power off the receiver first.
SAT OUT
Loops out to other devices. Connect an analogue receiver here. Power off the
receiver to watch analogue program.
ETHERNET
The communication port through HTTP, FTP, NFS, Telnet and Samba to access
your recorded movies or to upload channel lists. This is also used to update the
Operation system and download various Linux applications patch cable.
S-VIDEO
Connect Super Video.

Composite video output for connecting to a TV, AV monitor, etc.

Connect with an appropriate RCA/Cinch cable to your HiFi-Amplifier.
COMPONENT (Y, Pb, Pr)
Digital Video Output for Y, Pb, Pr.
RS-232C
Connect your PC via this connector using a NUL female to female RS232 cable
when you wish to upgrade the system software by serial communication port.
DIGITAL AUDIO
Connect with an appropriate optical cable to your HiFi-Amplifier or DSP. The
AC3 signal is also available at this socket, if the selected channel transmits Dolby
Digital signals.
USB
USB 2.0 external HDD.
TV
Connect TV by RF cable.
MAIN SWITCH
Power on/off the receiver.
POWER CORD (AC IN)
100~240V AC (Auto-selectable), 50~60Hz +/-5%. Make sure to check the power
specification.

2.3 Remote Control Unit MUTE
Turn the sound on and off.
POWER
Turns the receiver on/standby (Power off in viewing mode only). If you press the
button for more than 3 seconds, the Reboot/Sleep Timer menu will appear.
Please refer to “4.4 Menus- (5) Reboot” instruction for further information.
NUMERIC KEY (0-9)
Controls the numerical operation and changes the Channel/Service number directly.
TV
Opens Service List.
RADIO
Opens Radio Service List.
TEXT
Opens Teletext. If the Service List is opened, by pressing the [TEXT] button, the
File Mode menu will open. To return to the Service List, press the [TV] or
[Radio] button.
EPG
Press the [EPG] button once to show the EPG info. Press it twice to enter the
EPG Style menu.
Press the [OK] button to view further information.
MENU
Opens the Main Menu in viewing mode. If the [MENU] button is pressed when
the Service List is opened, the Service Menu will appear.
EXIT
Returns to the previous menu or abort/exit operations.

CHANNEL
Changes channel, moves the
cursor of channels in Service List, and moves
Up/Down on the menu.
VOL
◀/▶
Controls volume level, moves the page Up/Down in Service List, and moves
Left/Right on the menu.
OK
Press the [OK] button to open the Service List in viewing mode. Press [OK] to
confirm a selection/function or to enter a chosen OSD menu.
VOLUME +/-
Controls audio volume level.
BOUQUET +/-
Shows the favorite channels in the bouquets you created. Press (+) to go up or
( - ) to go down the list.
INFO
Press the [INFO] button once to open the INFO-Bar. Press it twice to view the
INFO-Bar details.
TV/SAT
Switchs between terrestrial and satellite channels.
AUDIO
Shows the available audio tracks (Audio Languages).
COLORS BUTTONS
These buttons activate certain menu functions. Usage instructions are shown in
each OSD menu.
They also control the PVR functions in PVR-Mode.

INDEX MARK
Produces a bookmark (chapter) while watching a recorded program.
SEEK FF( )
Jumps the index forward to a bookmark (chapter).
SEEK RW( )
Jumps the index backward to a bookmark (chapter).
PRE( )
Returns to the previous channel/service or move to the beginning of the Service
List or the Play List.
PVR
Available in network PVR function (Ngrab, etc.)
These buttons control the PVR functions in PVR MODE.
•[REWIND] button
Speed rewind option. Every time the button is pressed, the speed increases x8,
x16, x32, x64 accordingly.
•[PLAY] button
Starts playback or restarts play during trick play or pause.
•[F.F] (FAST FORWARD) button
Fast forward option. Every time the button is pressed, the speed is to be x8,
x16, x32, x64 accordingly.
•[PAUSE] button
Pauses screen. Press the button again to restart playback.

Install the receiver in horizontal position.
Do not put any heavy objects such as a TV on the receiver.
Do not install the receiver in vibrating place, direct sunlight, humid place,
extreme temperatures, and under unventilated places.

•[STOP] button
Quits the file in playback or trick play.
•[REC] button
Records selected program.
During the recording, a red dot blinks in the Info-Bar and the "REC" sign lit on the
front of the unit. It indicates the recording is in progress.
NEXT( )
Advances to the next channel/service or move to the end of the Service List or the
Play List.

4.1 Basic Information
4.2 Get started for the first time
You can see the TV System Wizard. Choose your TV system with
[LEFT/RIGHT]Navigation button and press [GREEN] button or [OK] to save.
OSD Language menu will appear automatically. Use the [UP] or
[DOWN]Navigation button to choose your language. Press the [OK] button to
activate. (OSD Language menu is in the Main Menu of (6) Setup (3) System

[Menu Information]
Selectable lines are generally activated (highlighted).
Non-activated lines cannot be selected.
Most menus show summarized information at the bottom.
[Basic Button Control]
When you have reached the required subject menu, press the [OK] button to enter
to your selected menu.
Use the [UP/DOWN] navigation buttons to change TV program
In most menus, you can select menu items with Navigation buttons.
When you want to return to the previous menu without saving the change, press
the [EXIT] button.
Satellite Tuner
If it is the first time using a receiver, you should set parameters for system
configuration.
Perform setup procedure below, when you have finished the procedure, you can start
watching TV or listening radio.
Turn onour TV and receiver.

Satellite Configuration is next. Navigate to the upper dropdown list and choose
your appropriate satellite configuration and press the [OK] button. Choose your
satellites the dish is adjusted to, and press the [GREEN] or [OK] button on save
to save configuration. This Configuration might differ from yours. (Satellite
Configuration menu is in the Main Menu of (6) Setup (2) Service Searching
(1) Satellite Configuration).
Transponder Scan is next. The Automatic Transponder Scan is recommended.
The Automatic Transponder Scan scans satellite one by one. Select the first
satellite to scan and press the [OK] button.

Time Zone Setup will appear next. Press the [OK] button to open the dropdown
list. Use [UP] or [DOWN] Navigation buttons to search for your Time Zone.
Press the [OK] button to select.
DiSEqC… will appear next. Choose the DiSEqC you have installed.

Only Free for FTA(Free to Air) and no circpolariz is for all available services.
Press the [OK] button to proceed to the next satellite scan or finish scan.
(Transponder Scan is in the Main Menu of (6) Setup (2) Service Searching
(5) Automatic Transponder Scan).
Now you can enjoy TV or Radio programs.

Cable Tuner
If it is the first time using a receiver, you should set parameters for system
configuration. Perform setup procedure below. When you have finished the
procedure, you can start watching TV or listening radio.
Turn on your TV and receiver.
You can see the TV System Wizard. Choose your TV system with

Time Zone Setup will appear next. Press the [OK] button to open the dropdown
list. Use [UP] or [DOWN] Navigation buttons to search for your Time Zone.
Press the [OK] button to select.
Transponder Scan.

The Automatic Transponder Scan is recommended. The Automatic
Transponder scans channels automatically.
Press the [OK] button to start scan.
Now you can enjoy TV or Radio programs.

Subservices
If green dot in the Info-Bar appears, program provides subservices.
Press the [GREEN] button to enter the menu multiple services. Use the Navigation-
Buttons [UP] and [DOWN] to choose a service.
Enable quick zap:
Press the [GREEN] button to enable the quick zap mode. You can now choose a multiple
service using the Navigation buttons [LEFT] or [RIGHT] without entering this menu.
Press the [GREEN] button to bring up this menu and press the [GREEN] button again to
deactivate the quick zap mode.
Add to bouquet:
Press the [YELLOW] button to add the selected service to a Bouquet of your choice.

Info-Bar
The Info-Bar appears and disappears by pressing the [OK] button once in watching
mode. The Info-Bar shows all necessary information about the selected Service.
EPG (Electronic Program Guide)
Press the EPG button once to display EPG info which you last saw the last and press it
twice to display EPG style menu. Press the [OK] button to view details.

TV mode
Returns from PVR mode to TV mode.
Radio mode
Returns from PVR mode to Radio mode.
Audio Track
If yellow dot in the Info-Bar appears, program is transmitting multiple Audio-Tracks.
Use the [LEFT] or [RIGHT] Navigation button to choose the different Audio modes,
Left-Mono, Stereo, Right-Mono.
Use the [UP] or [DOWN] Navigation button to choose another Audio language.
In the main menu you can set system configuration and scan TV & radio channels.
Press the [MENU] button.

Information
You can see Stream info and your receiver information.
File mode
When you enter File mode, last chosen movie(recorded file) will be played.
Press [UP] or [DOWN] Navigation button to see the list.
Root ([RED] button) : All folders such as programs and movies.
Movies ([GREEN] button) : Recorded programs
Playlist ([YELLOW] button) : Selected programs and movies, jump beginning
/ end with </>button.
Bouquets ([BLUE] button) : Bouquets with redorded programs on Service
menu.
If you press [MENU] button on this menu, Service Menu will appear. Please
refer to 4.4 Menus - (6)Setup – Service Organizing for more details.

Service Organizing
❖Create new bouquet
The Bouquets are used to save your favorite services from the Service List in one
simple bouquet.
You can either add a TV, Radio or a File Bouquet.
You can see details about the chosen service in Streaminfo menu. Use [RIGHT]
button to open next page of Streaminfo and [LEFT] button to go back.
Also you can check manufacturer’s model no. and other information such as
processor, hard disk and current software version in About...menu.
Reboot
reboot : Restarts the system.
restart enigma
goto standby : same as stand by mode as [POWER] button.
set sleeptimer
Maximum duration of 240 minutes. Press the [GREEN] button to set sleep timer.

Add services on the bouquet.
Choose the channels you want under the satellite then press [OK] to save on your
bouquet.
Now choose your desired services by navigating to them and pressing the [OK]
button to select. All selected services appear red. To unselect a service, just press
the [OK] button on it again.
To finish selection press the [EXIT] button.
The System will guide you back to the Service Organizing.
Select among TV, Radio or File to create a bouquet in that.
Enter a name of your choice with the [NUMERIC KEYS] on your Remote-
Control.
Press the [YELLOW] button for lower or uppercase letters.
Press the [BLUE] button for numeric or letters to come first.
Press the [VOL +] button to insert a letter or space.
Press the [VOL -] button to remove a letter or space.
Press the [OK] button to save. The system will guide you back to Service
Organizing. You can check created bouquet in Bouquets file under Edit
bouquets menu.
❖Add services to Bouquet
Select Bouquet Type and then menu shows the System default Bouquets, and
the bouquet you have created.

The same functions can be applied inside a Bouquet. Press the [EXIT] button
to exit.
❖Satellite Installation & TP Edit

Explained in previous menu, “4.2 Get started for the first time”.
❖Satfind
Choose from the lower dropdown lists your preferred satellite and transponder.
Adjust the dish towards the desired satellite until you have a high level of Signal
strength AGC and on the Signal quality SNR indicator. The BER should always
indicate a value of zero if the Satellite is locked and synced.
SNR: Signal to Noise Ratio. This Indicator shows the Quality of the Signal.
AGC: Automatic Gain Control. This Indicator shows the Strength of the Signal.
BER: Bit Error Rate. This Indicator shows the Errors Rate of the Signal.
❖Edit Bouquets
Rename the selected Bouquet Type by pressing the [YELLOW] button.
Choose a Bouquet Type you wish to edit a Bouquet from and press the [OK] button.
If you go into Bouquet, you can edit.
Press the [RED] button to delete a selected Bouquet.
Press the [GREEN] button to highlight a Bouquet and direct it to another
place in the list. Press the [GREEN] button again to release.
Press the [YELLOW] button to rename a selected Bouquet.
Press the [BLUE] button to set a marker between two Bouquets. A marker is
used to place visual remarks. You can create as many markers as you want.

After saving the configuration, go to Motor Setup from the Service Searching.
Refer to the Motors Manual for correct values degrees/second. If unsure, set a
check in front of “Use Motor Input Power” and enter the maximum current the
Motor is using for turning to the Dish.
Visit the Website http://www.heavens-above.com to learn your geographical
location. Enter the values for Longitude and Latitude and press [GREEN] button
to save.
With DiSEqC motor, you need proceed to Automatic Multisat Scan.
❖Motor Setup
Before proceeding with the Motor Setup choose “many satellites via
DiSEqC Motor” in Satellite Configuration if you are setting up a Motor for
the first time.
All available satellites will be listed. Press the [GREEN] button to save your
configuration.
