the bottom of this equipment is a label that ontains, among other information,
the FCC registration number and ringer equivalen e number (REN) for this
equipment. If requested, this information must be provided to the telephone
ompany.
The REN is used to determine the quantity of devi es whi h may be onne ted
to the telephone line. Ex essive RENs on the telephone line may result in the
devi es not ringing in response to an in oming all. In most, but not all areas,
the sum of the RENs should not ex eed five (5.0). To be ertain of the number
of devi es that may be onne ted to the line, as determined by the total RENs,
onta t the telephone ompany to determine the maximum REN for the alling
area.
The X-C 6250 Pro (300) omputer may be onne ted to the telephone network
using the RJ-11 ja k provided.
If this equipment auses harm to the telephone network, the telephone
ompany will notify you in advan e that temporary dis ontinuan e of servi e
may be required. If advan e noti e isnt pra ti al, the telephone ompany will
notify the ustomer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right
to file a omplaint with the FCC if you believe it is ne essary.

The X-C 6250 Pro (300) NT Users Manual provides information about
using the X-C 6250 Pro (300) omputer and some of its peripherals.
If youve never used this computer (or any computer) before, the first
three se tions ontain important information to get you started su ess-
fully. To help you be ome a profi ient user or just to make your daily
tasks easier, try using the tools that reside on your system listed on
page viii.
If youre an experienced computer user already familiar with Windows,

The X-C 6250 Pro (300) mobile omputer is a ruggedized, weather-
sealed omputer system built for the demanding environment of the
mobile worker. Designed for use by large mobile workfor es, this
omputer is one of the most pra ti al work tools for olle ting,
managing, and ommuni ating information in the field.

The labeled omponents are des ribed below.
•9-Pin Serial Port This port an be used for serial ommuni ations,
bar ode input, onne tion to a printer, or other purposes.
•15-Pin Video Port This port an be used to onne t an external
monitor (see Se tion 9 of this manual for more information).
•25-Pin Parallel Port This port an be used to onne t optional
devi es su h as a printer.
•Antenna If you have a radio modem installed in your omputer, the
antenna sends and re eives radio waves for this modem.
•Audio Port A ustom port designed to onne t to an adapter su h as
a tel o or multimedia adapter.
•Battery Door and Latches This door overs the Ni kel Metal-Hydride
(NiMH) battery. If you unlat h the battery door before turning off the
omputer first, the system automati ally powers off the unit to
prote t data on the hard disk.
•Display Display options in lude mono hrome, olor, or tou h
s reen. The s reen an be illuminated in low-light onditions by
turning on the ba klight or MaxBright (FN+F1).
•Dust Covers These overs provide added prote tion for the serial,
parallel, USB/Audio, and video ports when they are not being used.
•Key oard The keyboard is environmentally sealed and designed
with 93 per ent standard key spa ing.
•Microphone The mi rophone allows a user to talk to another person
using the internal modem.
•Mouse Pointer and Buttons The integrated mouse pointer is lo ated
dire tly below the spa ebar on the keyboard. The left and right
mouse buttons are lo ated on either side of the mouse.
•PC Card Door This door overs the PC ard so kets. When this door
is open, shield the unit from all ontaminants su h as liquids, rain,
snow, and dust.
•PC Card Sockets PC ards are inserted into these so kets. To
remove a ard, press the ejector button lo ated to the left of the
ea h so ket.

•Power Port This port is used to onne t the external power supply
to the omputer.
•RJ-11 Connector This port is used by the internal modem to
ommuni ate over standard voi e grade telephone lines.
•Speaker Lo ated on the bottom of the omputer, the speaker
provides sound for the unit. Use the FN+F6 and FN+F7 keys to
adjust speaker volume.
•USB Port The Universal Serial Bus port is a series Type A USB
onne tor (NT 4.0 does not support USB).
ndicator Lights
Lo ated below the display, these lights blink or remain on or off to
indi ate a tivity on the system.
The On/Off light illuminates when you power on the omputer; it blinks
to indi ate a low battery.
The External Power light illuminates when external power is onne ted
to the omputer. It blinks while the external power supply is harging
the battery and remains on when the battery is fully harged.
The Disk Activity light omes on when the hard disk is spinning or
pro essing data.
The Radio On/Off light illuminates when the radio modem is powered
on (if your omputer is equipped with a radio modem).
