How to Assemble the

For best results and maximum stability, secure all wood dowels with wood glue.
Be careful to lay out and identify all parts before gluing.
A-1 Base:
Collect 6 base pieces as follows:
(2) Part A 24" x 11/4" x 31/8"
(1) Part B 181/2" x 21/2" x 3/4"(does not have a large knob hole)
(1) Part C 181/2" x 41/2" x 3/4"
(2) Part D 26" x 11/4" x 11/16"
Lay parts A on the left and right, 3 holes will appear on the inside, 1 hole will
appear at the front of the easel base. Lay part C at the front of the easel. The 4
pre-drilled holes must appear on the top, towards the rear of the easel. Lay part
B at the back of the easel. Insert 8 dowels into holes in parts A. Using a rubber
mallet tap parts A into parts B and C. Using (4) 11/2" screws, secure parts A into
parts B and C. Using 21/2" bolts with black knobs and washers, secure parts D
to 2 holes at the rear of the base, knobs must face inward.
A-2 Main Easel Frame:
Collect 6 main easel frame parts as follows:
(2) Part E 48" x 21/2" x 13/16"
(1) Part F 181/2" x 21/2" x 3/4"(with label and 1 hole)
(1) Part G 18 1/2" x 2 1/2"x
3/4"(with 2 pre-drilled holes facing up)
(1) Part H 54" x 5" x 7/8"(2 piece center mast)
(1) Part I 181/2" x 21/2" x 3/4"(with 2 hinges)
Lay parts E on left and right of center mast frame, 3 holes facing in and slots
facing down, rounded edge at the top of the easel. Place part F between parts E,
with label facing up. Lay part G between parts E at the bottom of the easel
frame, 2 pre-drilled holes facing upward. Place part I at the bottom of the frame
with the hinges facing down. Insert 12 dowels into side frame parts E. Tap parts
F, G, and I into parts E with a rubber mallet. Secure parts E to parts F, G, and I
with (6) 11/2" screws. Secure the center mast part H to parts F and G using
(6) 11/4" screws. Rounded center mast is at the top of the easel.
A-3 Secure Frame to the Base:
Lay the easel frame flat on top of the easel base. Connect hinges with
(4) 1/2" screws to part C. Connect parts D to the side of the easel frame
with (2) 2" bolts with black knobs facing outward, mounted to the slots.
Attach Canvas Tray and Canvas Holder
Insert 21/2" bolt/ knob combination through the front of the bottom canvas tray.
Place spring on the exposed bolt. Cover spring with washer and compress spring.
Slide wood block onto bolt with the nut facing outward and turn knob clockwise
to secure the bolt to the nut. Slide bottom tray over the top of the easel and
secure in place. Slide the top canvas holder into place and secure.
Cover all visible screw holes with plastic caps.
Screw (4) plastic feet onto base. A-3
