7. Extra Features
1) Stereo Mix
This feature enables Rock Pro to mix the guitar input and the sound played through WDM audio
driver on Windows® simultaneously. With this feature, you can easily record your guitar/bass play
and sound played back by Windows® audio driver together (i.e. an mp3 track for covers).
Suppose you are using WDM recording software to record your guitar play with Rock Pro.
You are also playing for instance an mp3 audio file through Windows® audio player.
(1) Stereo Mix Off
If the Stereo Mix is turned off, only Rock Pro’s guitar input (your guitar play) will be recorded on
the track.
(2) Stereo Mix On
Once the stereo mix is turned on, you can record your guitar play and the accompaniment
audio track at the same time. *
* Please note that the stereo mix feature will record the dry tone of your guitar / bass only. ASIO
based amp-simulators or VST Plug-In effects will not be recorded. If you want to take the amp-
simulator’s sound output too, please refer to the FX feature on the next page.

6
2) FX
FX feature enables mixing the sound delivered over ASIO driver and the sound played through
WDM audio driver on Windows® simultaneously. The main difference between ‘Stereo Mix’ and
‘FX’ is in the involvement of ASIO applications. With FX feature, you can get a true “what you hear
is what you get” recording.
Suppose you are using amp-simulator software with VST Plug-in through Rock Pro.
Also, you are about to record with Windows®recording software and played accompaniment
sound or session audio (i.e. MP3 audio) as well.
(1) FX Off
If FX is turned off, even though you are using an amp-simulator with VST Plug-In, only your
dry guitar tone will be recorded without the VST effect.
(2) FX On
Once the FX feature is turned on, Rock Pro allows you to record your wet guitar sound with
the ASIO effects applied. FX feature can also be combined with ‘Stereo Mix’ seen in the
previous chapter, which results a true “What U Hear” capability.
