Introduction
The JP-8034 USB is a 2x20 alphanumeric customer VFD display,
Its designed for retail and industrial environments with its outstanding features
include high quality vacuum fluorescent display in blue green color, USB interface,
easy to use and powerful programming features also compatible with
multi-character function (please refer the page 26~31 for the supported international
character set)

*Please make sure the following items are included with your customer display. If any items are
missing, contact your dealer.

Installation
The JP-8034 USB is compatible to USB 1.1 protocol.
Step1.
Connects the USB “B” type connector to the JP-8034.
Step2.
Connects the USB “A” type connector to the PC.

Note:
In addition of another USB “A” type connector is providing power for 8034 only, not for
communicates. It will be useful for some PC or terminal that USB port can not provides power
max to 500mA current. Then the 8034 can take power via two USB ports for more stable working
environment.
Step 3: JP-8034 USB driver Installation for Windows
Note: Others OS driver please follow the installation notes in the product CD
1. When you connects 8034 USB to PC USB port.
The Windows will find new hardware and ask you to search new hardware
automatically, please select [No, not this time] and click [Next] botton.
2. Select Install from a list or specific location.

3. Select the driver in the product CD, please choose the correct diver for your OS
version. (For example: WinXP)
4. OS will install the driver, after complete installation please click [Finish]

Step 4: Check your Simulated COM port
After you had installed 8034 USB driver, then hardware will assign an USB simulated COM for
8034 USB. You have to check the USB assigned COM port from “Device Manager” of windows
operating system before you starting to programming or using 8034 USB.
(The picture shows COM5 as an example), the com port number will depend on your system

Programming Commands
There are four programming modes available for 8034 USB which are Jarltech mode, ESC/POS
mode, UTC standard and UTC pass through mode. In this chapter we will always use Jarltech
mode as an example and command codes. For other modes or multi-character please refer to
appendix II.
The user can design own software to show data on the 8034 USB.
Simply open the COM port (for example: COM5) and set the protocol to “9600,N,8,1”
Then any data send to 8034 will be displayed on the VFD display.
