Sehr geehrter Kunde,
Der Kauf dieser innovativen JBL ProSilent Luftpumpe ist eine gute Entscheidung. Die Verwendung eines Schalldämpfers
verleiht JBL ProSilent Luftpumpen extreme Laufruhe. JBL ProSilent Luftpumpen hört man fast nicht. Präzise Fertigung und
hochwertige Materialien sorgen für höchste Lebensdauer.
Sicherheitshinweise
Achtung: Zum Schutz vor Verletzungen und elektrischem Schlag sollten grundlegende Sicherheitsvorkehrungen beachtet
werden einschließlich der nachfolgend genannten:
1. Lesen und befolgen Sie alle Sicherheitsratschläge.
2. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die auf dem Typenschild angegebene Betriebsspannung mit der Netzspannung über-
einstimmt.
3. Platzieren Sie die Luftpumpe nicht auf oder über dem Aquarium. Wenn das Gerät ins Wasser gefallen ist, nicht
danach greifen! Erst Netzstecker aller Geräte ziehen, dann das Gerät bergen.
4. Aquarium und Gerät sollten so neben einer Wandsteckdose angeordnet sein, dass kein Wasser auf Steckdose oder
Stecker spritzen kann. Das Netzkabel des Geräts sollte eine„Tropfschlaufe“ bilden, die verhindert, dass am Kabel
entlang laufendes Wasser in die Steckdose gelangt.
5. Sollten Steckdose oder Stecker nass sein, niemals den Stecker ziehen! Zunächst Stromkreis, an dem dieses Gerät
angeschlossen ist, abschalten (Sicherungsschalter) und danach den Stecker ziehen. Steckdose und Stecker auf
vorhandenes Wasser überprüfen.
6. Unter Aufsicht kann dieses Gerät von Kindern über 8 Jahre und von Menschen mit eingeschränkten körperlichen,
sensorischen oder mentalen Fähigkeiten, sowie unerfahrenen Menschen verwendet werden. Dafür sollten sie
eine Einführung in die Funktionsweise des Geräts bekommen haben und sich der Gefahren der Anwendung be-
wusst sein. Das Gerät ist kein Spielzeug. Kinder sollten das Gerät nicht säubern oder warten, es sei denn, sie sind
über 8 Jahre alt und werden beaufsichtigt.

7. Bei Nichtbenutzung, vor dem An- oder Abbau von Teilen oder vor dem Reinigen Gerät immer vom Stromnetz
trennen. Stecker nie am Kabel aus der Steckdose ziehen, sondern immer den Stecker anfassen und herausziehen.
Stecker niemals mit nassen Händen ziehen!
8. Das Gerät darf zu keinem anderen als dem vorgesehenen Zweck benutzt werden. Die Verwendung nicht vom
Hersteller empfohlener Zubehörteile kann zu gefährlichen Situationen führen.
9. Gerät nicht an frostgefährdeten Orten betreiben oder aufbewahren.
10. Gerät niemals am Kabel tragen!
11. Vor Inbetriebnahme auf sichere Installation des Gerätes achten.
12. Gerät darf nur in Räumen benutzt werden. Nur für aquaristische Verwendungszwecke.
13. Das Gerät darf nicht benutzt werden, wenn Kabel, Netzstecker oder das Gehäuse beschädigt sind.
14. Wenn die Anschlussleitung dieses Gerätes beschädigt wird, muss sie durch den Hersteller oder seinen Kunden-
dienst oder eine ähnlich qualizierte Person ersetzt werden, um Gefährdungen zu vermeiden
15. ACHTUNG – Vor der Durchführung von Wartungsarbeiten alle Geräte im Aquarium oder Teich ausschalten oder
Netzstecker ziehen.
16. Vor Arbeiten am Gerät oder im Aquarium alle elektrischen Geräte im Aquarium vom Stromnetz trennen.
17. Um einen elektrischen Stromschlag zu vermeiden, tauchen Sie das Gerät, den Netzstecker oder das Netzkabel
niemals in Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten.

Installation (Abb. B)
1. Platzieren Sie die Luftpumpe nicht auf oder über dem Aquarium und wählen den Standort so, dass sie nicht ins Wasser
fallen kann. Am sichersten ist die Aufhängung der Luftpumpe an einer trockenen Wand in der Nähe des Aquariums.
2. Wir empfehlen dringend die Verwendung des (der) beiliegenden Rückschlagventils(e), JBL ProSilent Safe, um einen
Rückuss von Wasser in das Gerät auszuschließen.
3. Durch ihre Eigenvibration können JBL ProSilent Luftpumpen (wie jede andere Luftpumpe) auf Flächen„wandern“.
Verhindern Sie dies durch Aufstellen auf möglichst rauen, absolut horizontalen Flächen. Zur Sicherheit xieren Sie die
Luftpumpe mit einem Draht oder Band, das Sie durch die Öse am Gehäuseboden führen und mit einem Haken an der
Wand verbinden.
4. Schneiden Sie einen Luftschlauch auf die passende Länge und verbinden Sie das eine Ende mit der Schlauchverschrau-
bung am Luftanschluss der Luftpumpe. Stecken Sie das andere Ende des Luftschlauchs auf den Luftanschluss eines
Ausströmersteins oder eines anderen luftbetriebene Artikels. Platzieren Sie Ausströmerstein bzw. luftbetriebenen
Artikel im Aquarium. Vermeiden Sie überlangen Luftschlauch, da dies die Leistung der Luftpumpe verringern kann.
5. Verbinden Sie die Luftpumpe mit dem Stromnetz und regulieren Sie die Luftmenge nach Bedarf am Luftmengenregler.

Wartung (Abb C)
Äußere Pege: Mögliche Verunreinigungen am Gehäuse mit einem feuchten Tuch entfernen. Gerät nicht ins Wasser tauchen!
Vermeidung von Leistungsabfall:
Kontrollieren Sie regelmäßig den am Boden des Gerätes bendlichen Luftlter (ProSilenta100 - ProSilenta400) auf Ver-
schmutzung und tauschen ihn erforderlichenfalls aus.
Ausströmersteine und andere luftbetriebene Artikel verstopfen mit der Zeit durch Kalkablagerungen etc. Überprüfen Sie
deshalb Ausströmersteine von Zeit zu Zeit und wechseln Sie sie aus, falls nötig. Prüfen Sie andere luftbetriebene Artikel auf
optimalen Durchgang und reinigen Sie sie, falls nötig.
Auswechseln der Membrane: Nachlassende Leistung bei nicht verstopften Ausströmern deutet auf eine defekte Membrane
hin. Dies kann alle 6 - 12 Monate erforderlich sein. Alle Membranen und sonstige Verschleißteile sind als Ersatzteilset im
Handel erhältlich. Wechseln Sie bitte immer das komplette Set aus, um die optimale Leistung des Gerätes zu erhalten:
1. Entfernen Sie die Schrauben an der Unterseite des Gerätes und heben den Gerätedeckel ab.
2. Modelle ProSilent a100, ProSilent a200 (Abb. C2 a-h): Ziehen Sie das komplette Bauteil bestehend aus Membrane,
Anker und Schalldämpfkammer nach oben ab. Setzen Sie in umgekehrter Richtung das neue Bauteil wieder ein.
Achten Sie dabei auf korrekten Sitz der Ringdichtung an der Unterseite des Bauteils. Die Ringdichtung bleibt
meist auf dem frei werdenden kleinen Rohrstutzen am Pumpengehäuse haften. Geben Sie vor dem Einbau des
neuen Bauteils etwas Vaseline auf die Ringdichtung. Das sichert korrekten Sitz beim Einbau der Ringdichtung.
Modelle ProSilent a300, ProSilent a400: Verfahren Sie, wie in Abb C 2 a-h gezeigt. Ziehen Sie beide Membranen
von den Ventilplatten ab, schwenken Sie die Ankerarme nach außen und ziehen Sie die Ankerarme nach oben
aus ihrer Halterung an der Schalldämpfkammer. Lösen Sie die Schraube in der Mitte der einen Ventilplatte und
nehmen Sie beide Ventilplatten ab. Montieren Sie in umgekehrter Reihenfolge die neuen Ventilplatten und Anker-
arme mit Membranen. Achten Sie bei der Montage der Ventilplatten darauf, dass die Zapfen an deren Rückseite
in die entsprechenden Bohrungen der Gummidichtungen und der Schalldämpfkammer fassen. Verwenden Sie
immer alle im Ersatzteilset enthaltenen Teile.
3. Setzen Sie den Gehäusedeckel wieder auf und verschrauben ihn.

Sonstige Hinweise:
Minimierung von Geräuschen: Die JBL ProSilent Luftpumpen wurden nach neuesten Erkenntnissen entwickelt und mit einer
Schalldämpfkammer und einem besonders dicken Gehäuse ausgestattet. Trotzdem können, auch unter optimalen Bedin-
gungen die Arbeitsgeräusche vor allem nachts in ruhigen Räumen hörbar sein.
Jede Luftpumpe erzeugt Vibrations- und Brummgeräusche, die mehr oder weniger deutlich hörbar sind. Durch Gegendruck
werden diese deutlich minimiert. Eine Durchussreduktion an einem der Luftmengenregler verringert den Geräuschpegel
deutlich.
Betreiben Sie deshalb bei den Modellen mit zwei Luftanschlüssen niemals einen Luftanschluss im„Leerlauf“,also
ohne angeschlossenen Schlauch mit Ausströmerstein o.ä.! Dies führt zu vorzeitigem Membranverschleiß und erhöhtem
Geräuschpegel.
Garantie
Dem Endabnehmer dieses JBL-Gerätes leisten wir eine erweiterte Garantie von 4 Jahren ab Kaufdatum.
Die Garantie erstreckt sich auf Montage- und Materialfehler. Verschleißteile, wie Membrane, sowie Schäden durch äußere
Einüsse und unsachgemäße Behandlung sind von der Garantie ausgeschlossen. Die Garantieleistung erfolgt nach unserer
Wahl durch Austausch oder Reparatur der mangelhaften Teile.
Weitere Garantieansprüche bestehen nicht, insbesondere wird, soweit gesetzlich zulässig, keine Haftung für Folgeschäden
übernommen, die durch dieses Gerät entstehen. Im Garantiefall wenden Sie sich unter Vorlage des Kaufbelegs an Ihren
Zoofachhändler oder schicken das Gerät ausreichend frankiert mit gültigem Kaufbeleg an uns ein.

Your purchase of this innovative JBL ProSilent Air Pump is a wise decision. The use of a noise suppressor makes JBL ProSilent
Air Pumps extremely quiet. JBL ProSilent Air Pumps are virtually silent. Precise manufacture and high-grade materials ensure
maximum service life.
Safety Instructions
Please note: Basic safety precautions including the following should be observed to protect from injury and electric shock:
1. Read and follow all safety advice.
2. Make sure that the operating voltage indicated on the name-plate agrees with the mains voltage.
3. Do not place the air pump on or over the aquarium. If the appliance falls into the water, do not try to retrieve it!
Pull the power plug rst and then remove the appliance.
4. The aquarium and the appliance should be positioned next to a wall socket such that no water can splash onto
the socket or the plug. The power cable of the appliance should form a drip loop to prevent water running along
the cable from getting into the socket.
5. Never pull the plug if the socket or plug is wet! First, turn o the circuit that the appliance is connected to by us-
ing the fuse switch, and then pull the plug. Check the socket and the plug for water.
6. The appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 and by persons with a physical, sensory or mental im-
pairment, as well as by inexperienced persons, if they are under supervision. They should have received an intro-
duction to how to use the appliance for this purpose and be aware of the risks of use. The appliance is not a toy.
Children should not clean the appliance or do maintenance or repair work on it unless they are over the age of 8
and are being supervised.
7. Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use, before installing or removing parts or
before cleaning. Never disconnect the plug by pulling on the cable, and instead, always grasp the plug and pull it

Installation (Fig. B)
1. Do not place the air pump on or above the aquarium, and select a location where it cannot fall into the water. It is safest
to hang the air pump on a dry wall near the aquarium.
2. We urgently recommend the use of the enclosed JBL ProSilent Safe non-return valve(s) in order to prevent water from
owing back into the appliance.
3. Like any other air pump, JBL ProSilent Air Pumps may“wander” on surfaces as a result of their own vibration. Prevent
this by mounting on a surface that is rough and absolutely horizontal if possible. The air pump should be secured with
a wire or cable that is threaded through the hole on the bottom of the housing and attached to the wall with a hook as
a precaution.
4. Cut an air hose of a suitable length and connect one end with the hose screw connection on the air connection of the
air pump. Attach the other end of the air hose to the air connection of an air stone or another air-operated article. Place
the air stone or the air-operated article in the aquarium. Avoid an excessively long air hose, since this can decrease the
eciency of the air pump.
5. Connect the air pump to the power supply and use the air volume control to adjust the air volume as needed.

Maintenance (Fig. C)
External care: Remove any dirt on the housing with a moist cloth. Do not immerse the appliance in water!
Avoid a decrease in eciency:
Check the air lter (ProSilenta100 - ProSilenta400) located on the bottom of the device regularly for dirt, and replace if neces-
sary.
Air stones and other air-operated articles become clogged by limescale, etc. in the course of time. Therefore, the air stones
should be checked from time to time and replaced if necessary. Check other air-operated articles for optimum passage and
clean them if necessary.
Diaphragm replacement: Decreasing eciency with no clogging of the air stones is an indication of a defective diaphragm.
The diaphragm may need to be replaced every 6 - 12 months. All diaphragms and other parts subject to wear and tear can
be purchased as a spare parts kit. Please make sure to always replace the entire kit in order to ensure optimum eciency:
1. Remove the screws on the bottom of the appliance and lift the lid of the appliance.
2. Models ProSilent a100, ProSilent a200 (Fig. C2 a-h): Pull the complete unit consisting of the diaphragm, anchor
and noise suppression chamber upwards and out. Reverse the procedure to insert the new unit. Please make sure
the plug washer on the bottom of the component ts properly. The plug washer usually adheres to the small pipe
nozzle / connecting piece on the pump housing that becomes available. Apply some Petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to
the plug washer before installing the new component. This ensures proper t when the component is installed.
Models ProSilent a300, ProSilent a400: Proceed as shown in Fig. C 2 a-h. Pull both diaphragms o of the valve
plate, swivel the anchor arms outwards and pull the anchor arms out of their mounting on the noise suppression
chamber. Loosen the screw in the middle of the valve plate and remove both valve plates. Mount the new valve
plates and anchor arms with the diaphragms in reverse order. When mounting the valve plates, make sure that
the cylinders catch in the corresponding drilled holes of the rubber seals and the noise suppression chamber on
their rear side. Make sure to always use all of the parts contained in the spare parts kit.
3. Replace the housing lid and screw it tight.

Other notes:
How to minimise noise: The JBL ProSilent Air Pumps were developed according to the latest ndings and equipped with a
noise suppression chamber and a particularly thick housing. Nevertheless, the operating noise may even be audible under
optimum conditions, especially at night in a quiet room.
Every air pump generates vibration and buzzing noises, which may be audible to a certain degree. These can be minimised
noticeably by counter-pressure. A reduction of the ow rate at one of the ow rate controls reduces the noise level signi-
cantly.
Therefore, when using the models with two air connections, never operate an air connection in“idle” i.e. without an
attached hose with an air stone or similar! This results in premature wear of the diaphragm and an increased noise level.
Guarantee
We oer the end user of this JBL product an extended guarantee of 4 years from the date of purchase.
The guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship. Wearing parts such as the diaphragm and damage caused by
external inuences and improper handling are exempt from the guarantee. We reserve the right to replace or repair the
defective parts under guarantee at our discretion.
No further guarantee claims will be accepted. In particular, to the extent permissible by law, no liability can be accepted for
consequential damage caused by this appliance. In the event of a guarantee claim, please contact your specialist retailer or
send the product to us with a valid purchase receipt, postage and packaging paid.

Consignes de sécurité
Attention : Pour éviter tout risque de blessures et de chocs électriques, il convient de respecter les prescriptions élémentai-
res de sécurité ainsi que les consignes indiquées ci-dessous.
1. Lire attentivement et respecter tous les conseils de sécurité.
2. Assurez-vous que la tension d’utilisation indiquée sur l’étiquette de marquage du produit correspond eective-
ment à la tension de votre réseau.
3. Ne pas placer la pompe sur ou au-dessus de l’aquarium. Au cas où l’appareil serait tombé dans l’eau, ne pas y
toucher. Débrancher d’abord l’appareil et le sortir ensuite de l’eau.
4. Installer l’aquarium et l’appareil à proximité d’une prise murale de telle sorte qu’il ne puisse y avoir d’éclabous-
sures ni sur la prise de courant murale ni sur la che. Le câble électrique de l’appareil devra former une « boucle
anti-goutte » pour empêcher l‘eau coulant le long du câble de pénétrer à l’intérieur de la prise électrique.
5. Dans le cas où la prise ou bien la che auraient pris l’humidité, ne jamais débrancher la che. Couper d’abord im-
médiatement le circuit électrique auquel cet appareil est raccordé (disjoncteur), et débrancher ensuite seulement
l’appareil. Contrôler la présence d’eau au niveau de la prise murale et de la che.

Installation (Ill. B)
1. Ne placez pas la pompe sur ou au-dessus de l’aquarium. Il convient de choisir l’emplacement de telle sorte qu’elle ne
puisse pas tomber dans l’eau. La solution la plus sure consiste à xer la pompe au mur à proximité de l’aquarium, dans
un endroit sec.
2. Nous vous conseillons fortement d’utiliser le(s) clapet(s) anti-retour JBL ProSilent Safe joint(s), an d’éviter un reux de
l’eau dans l’appareil.
3. En raison de leurs vibrations, les pompes à air JBL ProSilent risquent de se déplacer «toutes seules». Par sécurité,
immobilisez la pompe à l’aide d’une sangle ou d’un câble que vous ferez passer dans l’œillet du fond du boîtier et que
vous xerez au mur à l’aide d’un crochet.
4. Coupez un tuyau souple à la longueur adéquate. Fixez l’une des extrémités de ce tuyau sur le raccord à vis de la prise
d’air de la pompe. Raccordez l’autre extrémité de la pompe à un diuseur ou un autre équipement alimenté en air.
Placez le diuseur ou l’équipement à l’intérieur de l’aquarium. Evitez d’avoir un tuyau trop long, car cela peut diminuer
le rendement de la pompe.
5. Branchez la pompe et ajustez le débit d’air selon le besoin, à l’aide du régulateur de débit d’air.
