Directsunlightcandamageaboardifleftexposedfor aperiodoftime. At approximately 74°C (165°F) all EPS
foam begins to out-gas, become unstable and delaminate. Delamination is characterized by a separation
of the board’s core from the protective epoxy skin. Delamination is a damage that is not repairable and
should be avoided at all costs. Keep your board in an area with good air ow and circulation. Leaving your
board in a vehicle during the day (closed or open) elevates the risk for delamination. Even onamilddayat
21°C(mid-to-high70°F),theinsideofacarcanreach77°C(170°F),wellabove theout-gastemperaturethreshold.
While the benets of a non-slip traction pad are obvious, they also increase the risk of overheating and
delamination. While in use, water owing over the deck helps to regulate surface temperature. But when the
deck traction pad is dry, the eects of heat absorption are amplied when exposed to direct sunlight. If you
must expose your board to direct sunlight during transport or temporary storage, it is safest to keep the
white (bottom) facing up.

WARRANTY!
Board bags are intended for transportation protection, not full time storage. Prolonged storage of a wet board in a wet board
bag will have adverse eects on the nish of your board, leading to the possibility of mold, and osmotic blisters. Storing your
board in a board bag is not the same as placing it in the shade. Board bags will collect heat and potentially overheat your
board.
Sun, sand and saltwater will degrade any man-made material over time. Rinse o sand and saltwater deposits from your
paddle board with fresh water and store in a cool, dry environment after each use.
TheEPS Coreof your board ishighlyabsorbentand actsas aspongewhen theprotective watertight epoxyskin iscompromised.
To prevent your board from becoming waterlogged (heaviness and drag as a result of water absorption), regularly inspect the
exterior for dings and cracks. If you spot a crack, patching with epoxy is the preferred method of repair. JIMMY STYKS®boards
use minimal colored paints/decals in areas prone to damage so repairs can be made with minimal aesthetic disruption.

SEC TION 3
The JIMMY STYKS® board vent is conveniently integrated into
the carry handle. Venting regulates the air pressure within the
watertight skin of the paddleboard.
HB208 models come equipped with a“self-breathing”vent
cap (installed) and a spare“standard”vent cap. Refer to the
illustrations below to become familiar with the two types of vent
caps and for proper venting techniques for each.
STANDARD SELF-BREATHING
Regulating the internal air pressure of your
paddleboard is the most important maintenance task
involved with your stand-up paddleboard. Opening
the air vent allows air to escape freely to avoid over-
pressurization. Neglecting the air vent maintenance
may compromise the integrity of the watertight skin
or cause severe delamination. Leaving the air vent
open while in use will allow water and moisture to
enter the foam core resulting in a heavy“water-
logged”paddleboard.
Periodically inspect the o-ring for cracks, tears or

Gore-Tex® recommends replacing the self-
breathing membrane every 12 months. While
JIMMY STYKS®does not sell individual replacement
Gore-Tex® membranes, replacement JS Water Gear
vent caps with pre-installed Gore-Tex® membranes
are available for purchase through our online
accessory store.
JIMMY STYKS®vent handles are designed to interface with
all Coca-Cola Company® and PepsiCo, Inc.® brand 500 mL
(20 oz.) soft drink bottle caps.
NOTE: Bottle cap thread pitch varies by manufacturer. Not
all Coca-Cola® and Pepsi® brand bottle caps may t the
JIMMY STYKS® vent handles.
Using a bottle cap is recommended only as a temporary
solution until a replacement JIMMY STYKS®vent cap is
acquired. For replacement parts contact JIMMY STYKS®at:

LOST VENT CAP SOLUTIONS
A 500 mL (20 oz.) soft drink bottle cap can be used as a
temporary solution for a lost JIMMY STYKS®vent cap.

Regulating the internal air pressure of your
paddleboard is the most important maintenance
task involved with your stand-up paddleboard.
“Self-Breathing”caps feature a Gore-Tex®
membrane that allows air to permeate freely
through the vent while preventing water and other
molecules from entering the paddle board. While
“Self-Breathing”caps minimize damage caused
by pressurization and heat, it is important that
you open the vent completely after use and close
before each use. Leaving the air vent open while
in use will allow water and moisture to enter the
foam core resulting in a heavy “water-logged”
paddleboard.

When securing your paddle board to the roof of a vehicle, always place the board bottom side up.
Placing the board topside up will create wind drag and instability while driving. Placing board nose
forward or tail forward are both acceptable means of transport .

The JS vent cap may cause pressure dings when stacking multiple boards. Completely remove vent cap and
o-ring prior to stacking boards. As a precaution, placing a cushioned barrier between stacked boards will
further protect against dings and cracks.

TERMS OF WARRANTY:
Your JIMMY STYKS®product is guaranteed to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of no more than 365 days from the
date of purchase. If the product does not conform to the warranty, JIMMY STYKS®, at its discretion will issue a new, like new, or similar model
product, excluding any shipping charges. Warranty extends to original purchaser only and is non-transferable. Sales receipt and original
packaging materials are required.
WARRANTY:
JIMMY STYKS®will make every eort to produce boards to the highest quality and standards in the industry. We do quality checks in our
factories in Asia and in our warehouses in North America in an eort to guarantee each board’s quality before shipping. Because of the nature
of surng andpaddle boarding we cannot warranty theperformance ofanyboardorshape forindividual riders andvarying levels ofskills and
abilities. Furthermore, we can not guarantee against damage or breakage and can not protect or warranty against circumstances outside of
our control. In the event of a new board being removed from a box and not in good condition please contact the oce for resolution.You will
be asked for a copy of a sales receipt and photos of the damage in question, as well as original packaging material to verify if damage was due
to shipping. If it is deemed a manufacturing or material aw, we will issue an RMA number.This number along with the damaged product will
need to be returned to the closest warehouse (Vancouver or Huntington Beach) at customer’s expense. Upon physical review, JIMMY STYKS®
will make its nal determination as to the nature of the damage or aw and issue a replacement product (model depends on availability),
or store credit. Shipping will be the responsibility of the customer. We are not responsible for damage or defects once the board has been
used. Damage is dened as impact with any object or material, damage due to dropping, loading, unloading, or transport, alterations or
modications, repairs, natural disasters, res, temperatures below 4.4 oC (40 oF), or above 43 oC (110oF), any further use of a board once a claim
has been reported, transport or storage of a board with a closed air valve, use of a board in the water with a loose or removed air valve, failure
to clean and service air vent valve, storage of a board in extremely hot or humid conditions including a wet or damp board bag.
RETURNS AND EXCHANGES:
JIMMY STYKS®will exchange any new, unused product for company credit providing it is accompanied by original sales receipt and all original
packaging. This will not include any shipping charges or expenses. Product must be in new condition and will be subject to the inspection

Les housses sont conçues pour assurer la protection de la planche pendant le transport et non pour l’entreposer sur de longues
périodes. L’entreposage prolongé d’une planche mouillée dans une housse humide aura des eets négatifs sur le ni de la
planche qui pourront donner lieu à l’apparition de moisissures et de cloques osmotiques. Ranger la planche dans une housse
n’est pas la solution idéale pour la protéger du soleil, car les housses retiennent la chaleur, ce qui peut provoquer la surchaue
de la planche.
Avec le temps, le soleil, le sable et l’eau salée dégradent les matériaux fabriqués par l’homme. Rincer les dépôts de sable et
d’eau salée présents sur la planche avec de l’eau douce et ranger la planche dans un lieu frais et sec après chaque utilisation.
Le centre de la planche, qui est fait de mousse de polystyrène expansé très absorbante, se comporte comme une éponge lorsque
le ni protecteur en époxy étanche est altéré. Pour éviter que la planche ne se gorge d’eau (et devienne lourde et ore une
résistanceauglissement),vérierrégulièrement que l’extérieurestexemptdedépressionsetdessures. Si une ssure estdécelée,
l’application d’époxy est la méthode à privilégier pour corriger la situation. Comme les planches JIMMY STYKS® comportent un
minimum de peinture/d’autocollants colorés dans les zones susceptibles d’être endommagées, les réparations peuvent être
eectuées sans que cela ne dégrade l’esthétique du produit.

L’évent des planches JIMMY STYKS®est intégré dans la poignée
de transport. L’aération régularise la pression de l’air à
l’intérieur de la planche.
Les modèles HB208 sont fournis avec un bouchon d’évent
autorégulateur (installé) et un bouchon d’évent de rechange
« standard ».Voir les illustrations ci-après pour connaître les
deux types de bouchons d’évent et les techniques d’aération
applicables à chacun.

Le mauvais entretien de l’évent peut compromettre
l’intégrité du ni étanche de la planche ou provoquer
un délaminage important. Un évent laissé ouvert
lorsque la planche permettra à l’eau et à l’humidité
d’entrer dans le centre en mousse, qui deviendra alors
gorgé d’eau.
Vérier régulièrement que le joint d’étanchéité est
exempt de ssures, de déchirures ou de tout autre

L’aileron demeurera en bon état s’il est retiré après chaque utilisation. L’endommagement de l’aileron lorsque celui-ci
est xé à la planche peut entraîner de graves dommages au caisson de l’aileron ainsi qu’au revêtement et à l’intérieur en
mousse de la planche. Fixer fermement l’aileron avant d’utiliser la planche.

Ce produit JIMMY STYKS® est garanti contre tout défaut de matériau et de fabrication pour une période d’au plus 365 jours à compter de la
date d’achat. Si le produit n’est pas conforme à la garantie, JIMMY STYKS®fournira, à sa discrétion, un produit neuf, comme neuf ou d’un
modèle similaire, frais d’expédition en sus. La garantie ne s’applique qu’à l’acheteur initial et n’est pas transférable. La facture et l’emballage
d’origine sont requis.
GARANTIE
JIMMY STYKS®consent tous les eorts pour produire des planches de la plus haute qualité conformes aux normes de l’industrie. Nous
procédons à des contrôles de la qualité dans nos usines situées en Asie et dans nos entrepôts d’Amérique du Nord an de garantir la qualité
de chaque planche avant son expédition. De par leur nature, le surf et la pratique de la planche à rame nous empêchent de garantir le
rendement des planches ou des formes pour les diérents utilisateurs et les diérents degrés d’habileté et de capacité. En outre, nous ne
pouvons orir de garantie contre les dommages ou les bris et ne pouvons protéger ou orir de garantie contre toute circonstance hors de
notre contrôle. Si une planche neuve n’est pas en bon état au moment où elle est retirée de sa boîte, veuillez communiquer avec notre bureau.
Nous vous demanderons des photos des dommages en question ainsi que le matériel d’emballage original et un exemplaire de la facture
pour vérier si les dommages sont survenus pendant l’expédition. Si nous considérons qu’il s’agit d’un défaut de fabrication ou de matériau,
nous vous émettrons un numéro d’autorisation de retour de matériel. Le produit endommagé (identié par le numéro d’autorisation de
retour de matériel) devra être retourné à l’entrepôt le plus proche (Vancouver ou Huntington Beach), aux frais du client. Après l’examen
physique du produit, JIMMY STYKS®rendra sa décision dénitive quant à la nature des dommages ou des défauts et fournira un produit de
remplacement (selon la disponibilité du modèle) ou, encore, orira un crédit en magasin. L’expédition est aux frais du client. Nous ne sommes
pas responsables des dommages ou des défauts subis une fois que la planche a été utilisée. Par dommages, on entend entre autres choses un
impact avec un objet ou un matériau, un bris causé par une chute au moment du chargement ou du déchargement ou pendant le transport,
une altération ou une modication, une réparation, une catastrophe naturelle, un incendie, une température inférieure à 4,4 °C (40 °F) ou
supérieure à 43 °C (110 °F), toute autre utilisation d’une planche après qu’une réclamation a été déposée, le transport ou l’entreposage de la
planche avec un évent fermé, l’utilisation de la planche dans l’eau avec un évent mal fermé ou absent, le défaut de nettoyer et d’entretenir
l’évent, l’entreposage de la planche dans des conditions extrêmement chaudes ou humides, y compris dans une housse mouillée ou humide.

JIMMY STYKS®échangera tout produit neuf et non utilisé pour un crédit à condition qu’il soit accompagné de la facture originale et de tous
les emballages d’origine. Les frais ou dépenses d’expédition sont exclus. Le produit doit être à l’état neuf et sera soumis à une inspection.
