Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox® for your automotive sound system.
With proper installation, your new vehicle-specific enclosed subwoofer system
will deliver years of listening pleasure.
We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox® installed by your authorized
JL Audio dealer. The installation professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools
and experience to disassemble and reassemble your vehicle properly. If you prefer to perform your
own installation, please read this installation guide completely before beginning the process.
If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely vital that
the Stealthbox®be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these
instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems:
1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure
caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision
or sudden deceleration.

POWER RECOMMENDATION
JL Audio recommends high quality ampliers such as the JL Audio XD300/1v2. The diagram below shows the recommended crossover settings for the XD300/1v2. For a detailed description of the amplier settings,
consult the owner’s manual for the amplier. If another amplier is being used, please reference this illustration and use similar settings on that amplier.

CONNECTIONS
Using quality power, signal, and speaker wire is essential in ensuring the performance of your Stealthbox®. JL Audio recommends using a 4 AWG power kit such as the XD-PCS4-1B for your Stealthbox® amplier. Other kits
are available should you be using more than one amplier. Signal wire such as the JL Audio Premium Audio Interconnect Cables should be used to provide signal for both channels of the amplier. JL Audio
recommends using 12AWG speaker wire for subwoofers such as our XC-BCS12-25.

STEP 4
Measure and mark 1” to the right of the first rib. Using a 1/8”
drill bit, drill a pilot hole on the intersection of the two marks.
STEP 8
Measure and mark 1-7/8” to the right of the rib. Using a 1/8”
drill bit, drill a pilot hole on the intersection of the two marks.
STEP 3
On the rear driver’s side of the plastic tray, measure and mark
2” from the bottom.
STEP 7
On the front driver’s side of the plastic tray, measure and
mark 3-5/8” from the bottom.
STEP 2
Lift and remove the floor cover panel. Remove the jack tools
from the plastic tray, then carefully unclip and remove the
tray.
STEP 6
Pictured are the locations of the two pilot holes.
STEP 1
Empty out the cargo area of the vehicle and fold the rear
seats down.
STEP 5
Measure and mark 2” up from the bottom and 1-1/4” to the
right of the second large rib. Using a 1/8” drill bit, drill a pilot
hole on the intersection of the two marks.

Measure and mark 1” to the left of the tape.
STEP 16
Pictured is the front of the plastic tray with the section
removed and the hardware installed.
S T E P 11
Remove the Stealthbox® from the tray.
Pictured is the section of the plastic tray that needs to be cut.
Use the dimensions given in Steps 12-14 to mark the tray
as shown.
STEP 15
Place the Stealthbox® back into position inside the plastic
tray.
Slide a 1/4” Lock Washer and a 1/4” Flat Washer over each of
the 1/4 - 20 x 1” Bolt, and thread an assembly through each
of the holes drilled in the plastic tray and into the inserts in
the enclosure. Pictured is the rear of the plastic tray with the
hardware installed.
STEP 10
Place the Stealthbox® into position in the driver’s side of the
plastic tray, and apply a piece of tape on the front side of the
tray to mark the edge of the enclosure.
STE P 14
Measure and mark 5-1/2” from the driver’s side.
Cut out the section of the plastic tray shown in Step 11.
STEP 9
Pictured is the location of the pilot hole.
Enlarge all three holes to 3/8”.
STE P 13
Measure and mark 3-1/2” from the top of the tray.

Place the Carpet into the vehicle as shown.

You have completed the installation for this model! Enjoy your new Stealthbox®!
STEP 18
Connect speaker cable to the barrier strip on the Stealthbox®,
reinstall the plastic tray, and route the cable as necessary.
Reinstall the floor cover panel.
