PRESIDOR™ ROOM LINKER COMBINER (PRLC-4)

INTRODUCTION
The PRLC-4 is an intelligent DMX 4 P rt Merger that has been designed as the central DMX merging
“Hub” f r multiple r ms r z nes f Presid r™ Wall Stati ns (PWS). Each r m/z ne f PWS must
c ntain ne Primary Stati n and a maximum f 15 Sec ndary Stati ns when used with a PRLC-4. Each
PRLC-4 has 4 is lated DMX inputs each c ntaining their wn is lated 48VDC p wer supply. Each DMX
input p rt has b th RJ45 and Ph enix Style breakaway terminals f r maximum installati n versatility.
Multiple (1-8) PRLC-4’s can be easily “cascaded” t gether t permit up t 25 r ms/z nes f PWS
c ntr l. PRLC’s are designed f r installati n in standard 19” racks. F r mid-sized multi-r m
installati ns up t 13 r ms, a small 4RU rack is available m del #PRLCR-4U f r h using 1-4 PRLC-4’s.

POWER UP
PRLC-4 p wer supply is 100 – 240 VAC, 1.5A, 50/60 HZ. A standard 3’ c mputer cable is supplied with
each PRLC-4. Each PRLC-4 has an illuminated fused switch f r maximum safety.
The pti nal PRLCR-4U mini 19” wall rack c mes with a duplex receptacle and single gang electrical
backb x installed f r ease f interface.
N tes:
•Where m re than ne PRLC-4 is used, the t p f the PRLC-4 chain is referred t as the MAIN
unit. All ther PRLC-4 units are referred t as SECONDARY units.
•RDU = Rem te Display Unit. Designed f r capacitive t uch “linking” f r ms/z nes as an
alternative t wired c ntact cl sures.
The default state f r all PRLCs n p wer up is MAIN. Any PRLC-4 that receives an Inter-gap
C mmunicati n (IGC) c mmand n its DMXOUT p rt will aut matically bec me a SECONDARY. The
MAIN PRLC will always be the DMX Output f the system. The DMXOUT rate is appr ximately 43
times/sec.

On p wer up, all PRLCs rep rt their c nnecti n status t up-stream PRLCs. The MAIN PRLC then
aut matically assigns R m Numbers t all c nnected PWSs (Presid r Wall Stati ns) and PRLC
numbers t all d wn-stream PRLCs.

2) F r the MAIN nly:
a. If an AUXIN switch is activated and there are r ms linked f r the AUXIN switch, the
screen will display a “*”.
b. If the RDU is c nnected and at least tw r ms linked, the screen will display a “#”.
NOTE: The RDU takes pri rity ver the AUXIN switches when c nnected.

Use the f ll wing navigati n keys t navigate the PRLC screens.
[UP][DOWN] [LEFT][RIGHT] OR [CENTER JSI] keys where the CENTER JSI key perates as a select
butt n.
N te: Pressing and h lding the [CENTER JSI] key f r (5 Sec nds) will reb t the unit!
M mentarily pressing the [CENTER JSI] key fr m the start screen takes y u t the main menu screen:

The LINK screen all ws the user t edit the Link Table f r the PRLC rack. The number f AUXIN
channels in the Link Table is based n the number f PRLCs x 4.

LINK TABLE EDIT SCREEN
1) With the AUXxx menu item selected, use the [^] and [v] keys t select the AUXxx input
number.
2) Select menu item CLEAR t clear all setting f r the selected AUXxx.
3) Select the main MENU item t return t the main MENU.
4) With the AUXxx menu item selected in the t p r w, press the [ENTER] key t access the
bottom row.
5) Use the [<] and [>] navigati n butt ns t scr ll thr ugh the ROOMS f r the selected AUXxx
channel then press the [ENTER] key t t ggle the setting f r the ROOM between selected
(checkmark) and n t selected (blank). N te that if a ROOM has already been linked t
an ther AUXxx channel, a “+” sign will appear ab ve the checkmark.
Use the [^], [<] and [>] keys t navigate back t the main menu item (3).
If y u have made changes t the Link Table when the main menu item is pressed, the user will be
pr mpted as f ll ws:
If “Y”, changes are saved t EEPROM and the new Link Table is sent t all ther PRLCs.
NEW SETUP SCREEN- IMPORTANT!
At this time, aut matic detecti n f additi nal r rem val f PRLCs r PWSs after the initial p wer up
has n t been implemented. If any changes are made t the PRLC rack, the user must activate the
NEW SETUP c mmand in rder t rec nfigure and re-assign the rack.

Select [Y] t reset the PRLCs and assign new r m numbers. N te that this will als clear the LINK
table.

MISCELLANEOUS
A d wn-stream PRLC must nly be plugged int R m P rt P4 f the up-stream PRLC. If a d wn-
stream PRLC is plugged int any p rt ther than P4, the f ll wing screen will be displayed.
