Warranty
The JDAM-9530 is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two
years from the date of shipment, as evidenced by receipts or serial no. on board. JS automation Corp.
will, at its option, repair or replace product that proves to be defective during the warranty period.
This warranty includes parts, labor and shipping costs of returning.
Except as specified herein, JS automation Corp. makes no warranties, express or implied, and
specifically disclaims any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Customer’s
right to recover damages caused by fault or negligence on the part of JS automation Corp. shall be
limited to the amount theretofore paid by the customer. JS automation Corp. will not be liable for
damages resulting from loss of data, profits, use of products, or incidental or consequential damages,
even if advised of the possibility thereof. This limitation of the liability of JS automation Corp. will
apply regardless of the form of action, whether in contract or tort, including negligence. Any action
against JS automation Corp. must be brought within one year after the cause of action accrues.
JS automation Corp. shall not be liable for any delay in performance due to causes beyond its
reasonable control. The warranty provided herein does not cover damages, defects, malfunctions, or
service failures caused by owner’s failure to follow the JS automation Corp. installation, operation,
or maintenance instructions; owner’s modification of the product; owner’s abuse, misuse, or
negligent acts; and power failure or surges, fire, flood, accident, actions of third parties, or other
events outside reasonable control.

1. Introduction
The JDAM-9530 is a stackable USB to RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 converter that provides an
easy way to connect serial devices to personal computer via USB port. The RS-232 interface
supports full-duplex communication and provides CTS and RTS for hardware handshaking. The
RS-485 control is transparent to application softwares written for half-duplex COM port
communications. The JDAM-9530's Opto-isolators provide 3000Vdc of isolation to protect the
host computer from ground loops and destructive voltage spikes on the RS-232/RS-422 and
RS-485 data lines. The JDAM-9530 has built in surge-protection on each data line that protect the
module from destructive voltage spikes. The JDAM-9530 module is USB bus powered and no
external power is needed.

8. Windows 98 USB Driver Installation
Plug the JDAM-9530 into the computer USB port or a USB Hub
Open Control Panel.
Select Add New Hardware Wizard icon.
The ‘Add New Hardware Wizard’appears, Press ‘Next’ button.
In the dialog box that comes up, leave the default choice, (Search for the best
drivers for your device), Press ‘Next’ button.
.In the dialog box that comes up, leave the default choice, (Floppy disk drivers),
Press ‘Next’ button.
In the dialog box that comes up, leave the default choice, (The update driver),
Press ‘Next’ button.
In the dialog box that comes up, Press ‘Next’ button. (Window driver file search
for the device)
Diaglog box appears to tell you that the installation has finished, Press ‘Finish’
button.
Now you have installed JDAM-9530 on your system, you can see a new USB serial
device in 'Control->Device Manager'. The JDAM-9530 acts as a standard COM port
and is transparent to any UART application software
