THE NATURE OF HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
The use of portable automotive lifting and support devices is subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means,
but only by the exercise of intelligence, care, and common sense. It is therefore essential to have owners and personnel involved in the
use and operation of the equipment who are careful, competent, trained, and qualied in the safe operation of the equipment and its
proper use. Examples of hazards are dropping, tipping or slipping of loads caused primarily by improperly secured loads, overloading,
off-centered loads, use on other than hard level surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose for which it was not designed.
METHODS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
 • Read,study,understand,andfollowallinstructionsbeforeoperatingthisdevice.
 • WeareyeprotectionthatmeetsANSIZ87.1andOSHAstandards(usersandbystanders).
 • Inspecttheenginestandbeforeeachuse.Donotuseifdamaged,altered,modied,inpoorcondition,orhaslooseormissing
hardware or components. Take corrective action before using the engine stand.
 • Adequatelysupportthevehiclebeforestartingrepairs.
 • Refertoenginemanufacturer’sservicemanualforproperliftingpoints,mountingpointsandboltsizes.Mountingboltsshouldbe
torqued at appropriate amount to maintain load.
 • Donotusestandtodollyortransportengine.
 • Do not crawl under engine or place any part of your body under the engine at any time.
 • Donotexceedratedcapacity.
 • Useonlyonahardlevelsurfacecapableofsupportingtheload.
 • AlwaysusehighstrengthSAEgrade8boltsformountingenginetomountingheadngers.
 • Makesurewidestsetofmountingheadngers(ifsupplied)arenearestthegroundwhenmountingtheenginetothestand.
 • Makesureallmountinghardwareissecurelytightenedandmountingplaterotatingmechanismislockedbeforerotatinganengine.
 • Assuretheloadiscentered,balancedandsecuredtothemountingheadandngers.Theengine’sweightshouldbebalancedwithin
  oneinchofthemountinghead’srotationalaxis.
 • Releaserotationallockingdeviceslowlyandcarefully.Off-centerloadmaymaketheloadandhandlerotateineitherdirectionwhen
the rotational locking device is released.
 • Neverloosenmountingheadboltsorenginemountingboltsunlessengineissupportedbyacraneorhoist.
 • Onlyattachmentsand/oradaptorssuppliedbyK-ToolInternationalshallbeused.
 • ThisproductmaycontainoneormorechemicalsknowntotheStateofCaliforniatocausecancerandbirthdefectsorother

2. Securethebackleg(#2)totheangleironportionofthemainpost(#1)andsecurethemtogetherwiththe2-3/4"longbolts(#7),
 atwashers(#14),lockwashers(#16)andnuts(#15).
3. Securethefrontleg(#17)totheangleironportionofthemiddlebeam(#18)withthe2-3/4"longbolts(#7),atwashers(#14),
 lockwashers(#16)andnuts(#15).
4. Slidethe3-1/2"diameterrearwheels(#20)ontotheaxleshaftsofthebackleg(#2)andsecurethemtotheaxleswiththeat
 washers(#22)andspringclips(#23).
5. Insertthetwo3"casterassemblies(#12)intothebottomofthefrontleg(#17)andsecurethemtothelegbyreachinginsidethe
 legopenings(#17)withthelockwashers(#11)andnuts(#10)andtighteningthemonthethreadedcasterstems.
6. Installthetubesectionoftheheadmountingplate(#4)intothetubeatthetopofthemainpost(#1)andsecurethemtogetherby
 insertingthelockpin(#5)intheholesthatlineupbetweenthetwotubes.
7. Pushoneofthehandlegrips(#21)onthehandle(#13)andinsertthehandlethroughthecrossholeattheendofthehead
 mountingplate(#4).Nowpushontheremaininghandlegrip(#21)ontheotherendofthehandle(#13).
8. Attachthefourngers(#6)totheheadmountingplate(#4)withthe1-5/8"longbolts(#8),atwashers(#9),lockwashers(#11)and
 nuts(#10).
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
   ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedfortheOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONSsectionofthismanualtoalertyoutopotential
personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.
1. Consultthevehicleorenginemanufacturerforservicemanualsand/ortechnicalbulletinsthatprovideinformationonsuggested
engine mounting tips, proper size and type mounting bolts and the engine's center of balance. The engine's center of balance will
have to be aligned with the rotational axis of the engine stand's mounting head.
2. Drainoilandcoolantandremoveclutchbellhousingandywheelfromenginebeforemounting.Attachanengineliftingbaror
 slingtotheengineandsecurethebarorslingtoashopcraneorhoist.Slowlylifttheenginefromitscompartment,makingsure
 noothervehiclecomponents,wiresorhosesobstructthefreemovementoftheengine.Raisetheenginehighenoughsoits
center of balance is close to the rotational axis of the stands's mounting head.
3. Makesurethefourmountingheadngersarelooselyconnectedtothemountingheadplate.Securethefourmountinghead
 ngerstothebellhousingendoftheenginewiththeappropriateboltsandwashers.Repositionthemountinghead,ngersand
engine so the engine's center of balance is within one inch of the mounting head's rotational axis. Tighten all bolts to a sufcient
torque requirement that prevents any slippage.
4. Slowlylowerthecraneorhoistsotheenginestandsupportsthefullweightoftheengine.Tocheckenginebalanceandsecure
setup of the engine to the stand, slowly rotate the engine by turning the handle. If balance or setup are not stable, rotate the
engine to its original position, raise the crane or hoist so the weight of the engine is removed from the stand, and make the correct
 adjustments.Afteradjustmentsaremade,tightenallbolts.Thisadjustmentproceduremayhavetobeduplicatedseveraltimes
 untilcorrect.Afterthesetupisbalancedandsecure,theliftingbarorslingcanberemovedfromcraneorhoist.
5. Toremovetheenginefromthestand,connecttheliftingbarorslingtothecraneorhoistandraisetheenginehighenoughto
 taketheweightoffthestand.Carefullyremovetheboltsthatconnectthefourmountingngerstotheengine.Beawaretherewill
be a slight movement of the stand as total engine weight is transferred to the crane or hoist.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedforthePREVENTATIVEMAINTENANCEsectionofthismanualtoalertyouto
potential personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.
1. Alwaysstoretheenginestandinawellprotectedareawhereitwillnotbeexposedtoinclementweather,corrosivevapors,
abrasive dust, or any other harmful elements. The stand must be cleaned of water, snow, sand, grit, oil, grease or other
foreign matter before using.
2. Lubricate the wheels, casters, wheel axles, and rotating tube with a general purpose grease.

3. Everyenginestandownerisresponsibleforkeepingthestandlabelscleanandreadable.Useamildsoapsolutiontowash
 externalsurfacesofthestand.ContactK-ToolInternationalforareplacementlabelifyourstand'slabelisnotreadable.
4. Inspectthestandbeforeuse.Donotusethestandifanycomponentiscracked,brokenorbent.Donotusethestandifithas
loose or missing hardware or components, or is modied in any way. Take corrective action before using the stand again.
K-Tool International warrants that all jacks and service-related equipment will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a
period of 2 years following the original date of purchase. This warranty is extended to the original retail purchaser only. If any jack or
service-relateditemprovestobedefectiveduringthisperiod,itwillbereplacedorrepaired,atK-ToolInternational’soption,without
charge. This warranty does not apply to damage from accident, overload, misuse or abuse, nor does it apply to any equipment which
has been altered or used with special attachments other than those recommended. This warranty does not cover repairs made by
anyonewhoisnotaK-ToolInternationalProfessionalLiftingEquipmentAuthorizedRepairCenter.
AllHDandXDjacksorservice-relatedequipmentwillbereplacedorrepairedatK-ToolInternational’soptionduringthe2yearwarranty
period.
Duringthe2yearwarrantyperiod,allallegeddefectiveproductsmustbeshipped,freightprepaid,alongwithproofofdate-of-purchase,
to your nearest K-Tool International Professional Lifting Equipment Authorized Warranty Center. Be certain to include your name,
address and phone number along with proof-of-purchase information, and a brief description of the alleged defect. The product will be
returned to the customer, freight prepaid.

NATURAlEZA DE lAS SITUACIONES DE RIESGO
El uso de dispositivos de bomba de pie neumática/ hidráulica se halla sujeto a ciertos riesgos que no se pueden prever por medios
mecánicos,sinoporlainformación,ladiligenciayelsentidocomún.Porlotanto,esesencialSinosesiguenlasinstrucciones,se
podrían ocasionar peligros, tales como la ruptura del uido hidráulico presurizado de las mangueras o acoplamientos, así ocasionando
la pérdida de carga, la bajada no controlada o la caída de la carga. Las inclinaciones o resbalones de la carga son ocasionados
mayormente por el ensamble inadecuado y la sobrecarga y se pueden dar las cargas no centradas si no se siguen las instrucciones.

 • Lea, estudie, comprenda y siga todas las instrucciones antes del uso.

lesiones o peligros de muerte.
1. Consulteelfabricantedelvehículoodelmotorporlosmanualesdeservicioy/olosboletinestécnicoslosquebrindaninformación
 sobrelosconsejossugeridosdemontajedemotor,eltamañoadecuadoyeltipodepernosdemontajeyelcentrodeequilibriodel
motor. El centro de equilibro del motor tendrá que estar alineado con el eje rotacional de la culata de montaje de la base del motor.
2. Vacíeelaceiteyrefrigeranteyextraigaelcárterdelembragueandyelvolantedelmotorantesdelmontaje.Sujetelabarrade
levantamiento del motor o eslinga al motor y sujete la barra o eslinga a una grúa de taller o montacargas. Levante lentamente el
motor de su compartimiento, asegurándose que ningún otro componente, alambre ni manguera obstruya el movimiento libre del
motor. Levante el motor lo suciente para que su centro de equilibrio esté cerca del eje rotacional de la culata de montaje de la base.
3. Asegúresequeloscuatrodedalesdelaculatademontajeesténconectadosojamentealaplacadelaculatademontaje.Sujete
 loscuatrodedalesdelaculatademontajealextremodelcárterdelmotorconlospernosyarandelasadecuados.Recoloquela
culata de montaje, los dedales y el motor con el n de que el centro de equilibrio esté dentro de una pulgada del eje rotacional de la
 culatademontaje.Aprietetodoslospernosalrequisitodetorsiónsucienteparaprevenircualquierdeslizamiento.
4. Bajelagrúaomontacargaslentamenteparaquelabasedelmotorsoporteelpesocompletodelmotor.Paravericarelequilibrio
 delmotorysujetarelmontajedelmotoralabase,gireelmotorlentamentealgirarlamanivela.Sielequilibriooelmontajenoesté
estable, gire el motor a su posición original, levante la grúa o montacargas para que el peso del motor esté alejado de la base y
 realicelosajustescorrectos.Despuésderealizarlosajustes,aprietetodoslospernos.Quizásseanecesarioduplicareste
 procedimientodeajustevariasveceshastaqueestécorrecto.Despuésdequeelmontajeestéestableyseguro,labarrade
levantamiento o eslinga puede extraerse de la grúa o montacargas.
5. Paraextraerelmotordelabase,conectelabarradelevantamientooeslingaalagrúaomontacargasylevanteelmotorlo
sucientemente alto para aliviar el peso de la base. Extraiga los pernos cuidadosamente, los que conectan los cuatro dedales de
montaje al motor. Esté consciente que habrá un movimiento ligero de la base ya que el peso integral del motor será transferido a la
grúa o montacargas.
