The Kam Soundforce speaker range is available in passive or active models.
Soundforce 12 and Soundforce 15 passive
The connection to your soundforce passive is via a speakeron socket. Connect a suitable cable from the output of
your amplifier to the input socket on the rear of your Soundforce passive speaker.
Connecting your speakers to your amplifier
•Always ensure that both volume controls on your amplifier are turned to zero and that its mains power is
switched off when making connections.
•Using an appropriate cable (if in doubt refer to the ‘Connection types’ section below) connect the left speaker to
channel A and the right speaker to channel B.
•Please read the rest of this manual before turning on the power or adjusting the volume controls.
Connection types
Speakeron - some amplifiers feature a pair of Speakeron speaker output sockets. Speakeron is a standard
connection type that is only used for connecting speakers to amplifiers. You cannot use Speakeron connections for
any other type of audio signal connection.
The Speakeron connections on your Soundforce speaker are internally wired with a standard +1 / -1 configuration.
This means they are designed to be used with two pin Speakon cables. This wiring configuration matches all
Speakeron equipped Kam speakers.
IMPORTANT! Active speakers
Before connecting active speakers to the mains power supply, ensure that the mains voltage selector (26) is set to
the correct voltage supply for your country! Failure to do so will severly damage the unit.

Connections to Soundforce12A / Soundforce15A
Please note these are active cabinets and require a line level input signal only, NEVER connect directly to an
amplifier, as this will severly damage your speakers and or amplifier.
If in any doubt contact your retailer for advice before connection
The Soundforce range of active speakers can be connected in the following ways:
1. Microphone: you can plug a microphone directly into the rear panel of the speaker, using either the
unbalanced ¼jack socket (15) or the balanced XLR socket (14).
2. Audio source: A CD/Mp3/or line level audio source can be connected directly to the rear panel of the
speaker, using the phono/rca input sockets (12).
3. Mixer: Connecting a mixer to a Soundforce speaker is easy - use either the RCA (12) or XLR (11) input
sockets. Remember if stereo sound is required that a pair or active speakers is required and the left signal
from you audio source will need to go to one speaker and the right signal from your audio source will need to
go to another.

Linking
It is possible to link one active speaker to another.
1. Connect your signal cable to the active speaker using one of the line in sockets (11) or (12).
2. Connect a lead from one of the line out sockets (8) or (9).
3. Connect this lead to the line in socket (11) or (12) of the next active speaker.
Please note you cannot connect a passive speaker to this output.
Tone controls
To adjust the tone, bass, mid and treble use the 5 band graphic equaliser to adjust the sound to your personal
taste (Soundforce 15A only). If you are using a Soundforce 12A use the bass and treble controls.
Clip LED
If the clip light is flashing ocassionally this is ok but if the clip light is illuminated constantly or distortion is heard
from the speaker, reduce the master output volume, adjusting the graphic equaliser will normally allow you to
increase the output level but reduce the clip limiter or distortion
