At Kambrook, we believe that safe performance is the first priority in any
consumer product, so that you, our valued customer can confidently use
and trust our products. We ask that any electrical appliance that you use
be operated in a sensible fashion with due care and attention placed on
the following important operating instructions.
Important Safeguards For Your Kambrook
FabriGuard One Temperature Iron
• Carefully read all instructions before
operating the iron for the first time and
save for future reference.
• Remove and safely discard any
packaging material and promotional
labels before using the iron for the
first time.
• To eliminate a choking hazard for
young children, remove and safely
discard the protective cover fitted to
the power plug of this iron.
• When unpacking the iron, check to
see you have received all the items
listed in the parts list before discarding
the packaging.
• Always ensure the iron is properly
assembled before use. Follow the
instructions provided in this book.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. High
temperatures are generated during
use, which could cause burns. Always
use the handle and warn others
(especially children) of the possible
dangers of burns from steam, hot
water and hot surfaces, especially
when ironing vertically.
• Do not use outdoors or in bathrooms.
• Always test the iron on a small discreet
piece of fabric to ensure the iron has
reached its optimum temperature.
• Never use the vertical steam shot
while clothes are on the body and
never direct the steam towards
people.
• Do not place the iron near the edge
of a bench, table or ironing board
during operation. Ensure the surface is
level, clean and free from water and
other substances.
• Do not operate the iron on a sink drain
board.
• Auto-off safety protection is designed
as a safety feature only. The iron
should not be left on deliberately
when unattended. If auto-off
safety protection has activated
and no further ironing is required,
we recommend that the iron is
switched off at the power outlet and
unplugged.

5
• Only push and hold the self-clean
button when you want to activate
the self-clean function. Do not push
and hold whilst ironing. Boiling water
and steam will drip through the steam
holes during the cleaning process.
Due caution and attention should be
exercised.
• Do not allow the cord to touch hot
surfaces.
• Do not leave the iron unattended
when in use.
• The iron must be used and rested on a
stable surface.
• When placing the iron on its heel,
ensure that the surface which the heel
is placed is stable.
• If the iron is not being used for an
extended period, disconnect the iron
from the power outlet.
• Do not use the iron if it has been
dropped, if there are visible signs of
damage or if it is leaking.
• Always switch the iron off at the power
outlet and unplug the appliance from
the outlet before filling or emptying
water, leaving the iron unattended,
cleaning and maintenance (unless
otherwise specified in this booklet),
and immediately after use.
• The iron incorporates a thermal
safety fuse to protect the iron from
overheating. However, the iron
should not be left unattended while
it is connected to the power outlet.
Special care should always be taken
when there are children in the home/
vicinity of the iron.
• Store the unit out of reach of children.
• Do not allow the iron to lay flat on the
soleplate when stored, as any residual
water may seep through the steam
holes.
• Always store the iron in an upright
position on its heel.
• Allow the iron to cool completely
before storing in an upright position,
on its heel.
• Do not store the iron with water in the
water tank. Always empty the tank
after use.
• To prevent damage to the iron, do not
use alkaline cleaning agents when
cleaning; use a soft cloth and mild
detergent.
• Regularly inspect the power cord, plug
and actual iron for any damage. If
damage is found or the iron has been
dropped, immediately cease use of the
iron and return the iron to your nearest
authorised Kambrook service centre.
• Keep the iron clean. Follow the
cleaning instructions provided in this
book.

6

Before First Use
Remove any promotional material or
packaging from the iron.
When operating the iron for the first time,
test on an old piece of fabric to ensure
that the soleplate and water tank are
completely clean.
During the first use, some vapour may
emit. This vapour is due to the initial
heating of the materials used in the
iron. This vapour will not harm the
performance of the iron and is safe.
NOTE: As an important part of
our quality control process, your
iron has been individually tested.
As a result, you may notice a
small amount of condensation
or water droplets on the inside of
the water tank. There is no need
for concern.
Filling the Water Tank
The Kambrook FabriGuard One
Temperature Iron should never be
operated without water in the water
tank.
To fill the water tank, ensure that the iron
is disconnected from the power outlet.
Set the steam control switch to no steam
and hold the iron horizontally by the
handle. Open the water tank inlet and
pour in the water, ensuring it is filtering
through the anti-calc filter. Be careful
not to exceed the ‘MAX’ level (380ml)
indicated on the water tank.
Tap water can be used in your Kambrook
FabriGuard One Temperature Iron,
unless it is particularly hard, in which
case it is recommended that distilled or
demineralised water be used.
Using Your Kambrook Iron
CAUTION: Never add
perfume, vinegar or
other chemical liquids
to the water in the water
tank. This could result in
damage to the iron.
One Temperature
The Kambrook FabriGuard One
Temperature Iron is specifically designed
to heat to the perfect temperature for
ironing on all ironable fabric types, from
the toughest denims to the most delicate
synthetics, without having to adjust a
temperature or fabric selection dial.
To begin ironing, ensure there is sufficient
water in the water tank. Plug the power
cord into a 230V or 240V power outlet
and turn on. The red heating light will
then illuminate, indicating that the iron is
heating up.
The iron will take approximately 2 to 5
mins to reach temperature. Ensure the
iron is resting on its heel throughout the
heating process.
When the iron reaches temperature, the
light will turn off indicating it is ready for
use. Simply slide the steam control switch
to the corresponding fabric to be ironed
(see Steam Selection Chart on page
9) and begin ironing. When changing
fabric types, adjust the steam control
switch accordingly.
NOTE: The red heating light will
cycle on and off during ironing -
this is normal.
CAUTION: Never iron
without water in the water
tank, even when dry
ironing.

Steam Control Chart
To Operate the Steam Control
The Steam Control Chart above indicates
the amount of steam recommended
for various fabrics. The amount of steam
used while ironing can be adjusted using
the steam control switch.
Hold the iron by the handle and use your
thumb to slide the switch forward to your
desired steam setting. The iron will be at
the maximum steam output when the
switch is fully forward.
To dry iron, slide the steam control switch
back fully to ‘NO STEAM’
Using the Shot Of Steam
The shot of steam function provides an
extra burst of steam. This is useful when
trying to remove stubborn creases and
when ironing heavier fabrics. The shot of
steam function can be used at all steam
levels (from ‘NO STEAM’ to ‘MAX STEAM’)
as long as the iron has reached the pre-
set temperature.
Holding the iron horizontally and slightly
above the fabric surface, press the shot
of steam button firmly and release.
The steam will penetrate the fabric and
assist in the removal of wrinkles as you
iron over the fabric.
Alternatively, hold the iron vertically
and slightly away from the fabric and
firmly press the shot of steam button. This
function is useful for getting wrinkles out
of hanging garments or curtains when
the fabric can not be ironed.

NO STEAM

10
CAUTION: Never use the
vertical steam shot while
clothes are on the body
and never direct the
steam towards people.
NOTE: For optimal steam burst,
leave an interval of 4 seconds
between the pressing of the shot of
steam button.
The shot of steam can be used at
any steam setting including ‘NO
STEAM’.
Using the Fine Mist Spray
The fine mist spray can be used to
dampen difficult to iron areas and
accidental creases.
Position the iron on the fabric, pointing
the tip towards the desired area. Firmly
press the fine mist spray button and a fine
spray of water will be produced in front
of the iron.
Anti-Drip System
The Kambrook FabriGuard One
Temperature Iron is equipped with
an anti-drip system. The iron will
automatically close the steam valve
when the soleplate temperature is too
low to produce steam. This prevents
water from the water tank escaping
through the soleplate. The steam valve
will open once the soleplate has reached
the correct temperature required to
create steam.
Safety Auto-Off
The Kambrook FabriGuard One
Temperature Iron features 3-way safety
auto-off protection. This feature is
designed to automatically switch the iron
off if it is left unattended (no movement)
for a specified period of time (See Fig.
1,2 & 3).
When the auto-off function is about to
activate, the light at the base of the
handle will flash in warning.

auto-off light will continue to flash. To
re-activate simply move the iron. The
heating light will illuminate and will then
turn off when the iron has reached
temperature and is ready to use again.
After Each Use
Once you have finished ironing, slide the
steam control switch to ‘NO STEAM’ and
place the iron on its heel.
Switch the power off at the power outlet
and disconnect the power cord from the
power outlet.
Open the water tank inlet and (over a
sink or bucket) invert the iron to empty
any remaining water from the tank.
Ensure the iron has cooled down before
storing.
CAUTION: Always switch
iron off at the power
outlet and unplug when
not in use.

12
Care, Cleaning and Storage
The Kambrook FabriGuard One
Temperature Iron has a self-clean
function which is designed to assist with
the removal of scale and impurities.
This function helps to maintain optimum
performance of your iron.
• Fill the water tank up to the MAX level
as indicated on water tank
• Slide the steam control switch to the
‘NO STEAM’ setting (See Fig. 1–page 9)
• Place the iron on its heel on a flat
surface. Insert the plug into the power
outlet and switch the outlet on
• Allow the iron to heat up to
temperature
• Switch the iron off at the power outlet
and remove the plug
• Hold the iron horizontally over a sink
and firmly press and hold the self-
clean button. Steam and boiling water
will emit from the holes in the soleplate
• Hold iron in this position until all water
has dripped out of the water tank
• Once the water tank is empty, insert
the plug into the power outlet and
switch the outlet on
• Allow the iron to heat up and the
soleplate to dry
• Once the heating light has turned
off, test the iron on an old piece of
cloth to remove any residual water
stains that may have formed on the
soleplate
• Switch the iron off at the power outlet
and remove the plug
• Allow the iron to cool completely
before storing
NOTE: Repeat the self-clean
process if the iron still contains a
lot of impurities.
CAUTION: Do not store
the iron with water in the
water tank. Always empty
the tank after use.
Cleaning the Anti-Scale System
The Kambrook FabriGuard One
Temperature Iron has a double anti-scale
system. The purpose of this feature is to
prolong the life of your iron by reducing
the build up of scale and other impurities
in the water tank. The system consists
of a built-in cartridge and a removable
filter. The anti-scale filter is located inside
the water tank inlet and can be easily
removed for cleaning.
To remove the filter, open the water tank
inlet and rotate the tab of the filter in an
anti-clockwise direction from the locked
position to the unlocked position
(See Fig. 5 and 6) and pull the filter from
inlet. The anti-scale cage and filter can
be disassembled and rinsed in water.
Once the anti-scale cage and filter has
been cleaned and reassembled, insert
the filter back into the water inlet in
the unlocked position. Once correctly
inserted, rotate clockwise into the
locked position. Ensure that the filter is
fully inserted and sits below the lip of the
water tank inlet.

Cleaning the Soleplate and
Exterior
Ensure that the iron is disconnected from
the power outlet and has completely
cooled before cleaning.
To remove residue that may have built
up overtime, clean the soleplate with a
damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a
soft dry cloth.
To clean the steam holes, use a damp
cloth to wipe away any built up lint or
starch.
To clean the outer housing of the iron,
use a soft, damp cloth and polish with a
dry cloth.
NOTE: Never use abrasives or
scouring pads to clean the
soleplate of the iron. Doing so will
scratch the surface.
Storage
Empty all water from the water tank
before storage.
Ensure the iron is cool and clean before
storing.
Store the iron on its heel in a cupboard or
on a bench.
