comply with IEC international rules of safety.
Read this user guide thoroughly before using your Prolaser®
Laser Pointer. Always operate the laser according to the
procedures and warnings in this manual.

Avoid setting up the laser level near
heavy machinery or sources of vibration that may adversely
affect the leveling of the laser.
Note
To get the most out of your Prolaser®896 5-DOT Laser Pointer, please
adhere carefully to the following instructions.
1.OpentheLockingKnob.ThePowerIndicatoronthe
keypad will light red.
2.PresstheON/OFFkeyonthekeypad.TheLaserIndicator
will turn green.
3.Iftheunitisoutoflevelingrange(±4°),theLaserIndicatorandthe
laserbeamswillblink.Adjusttheunituntilblinkingceases.

Care and Maintenance
Preventative Maintenance
• Storeinacleandryplace,between5°F–131°F(-15°C–55°C).
• Beforemovingortransportingtheunit,ensurethatitisturnedoffand
thePendulumLockingKnobislocked.
• Ifthelaserunitiswet,dryoffwithadrycloth.Donotsealthelaserin
the carrying case until completely dry.
• Donotattempttodrythelaserunitwithreorwithanelectricdryer.
• Donotdropthelaserunit,avoidroughtreatment,andavoidconstant
vibration.
• Periodicallycheckthecalibrationofthelaserunit.
• Cleanwithasoftcloth,slightlydampenedwithasoapandwater
solution. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong
detergents.
• Keepthelaseraperturescleanbywipingthemgentlywithasoft
lint-free cloth.
• Removebatteriesfromthelaserunitduringlengthyperiodsof
non-use, and store in carrying case.
• Ensurethatthelaserunitisturnedoffbeforeremovingbatteries.
Repairs
• SeetheWarrantysectionattheendofthismanual.
• DonottaketheProlaser®896 5-DOT Laser Pointer apart or permit
anyunqualiedpersontotakethelaserunitapart.Unauthorized
servicingmaycausebodilyinjury,irreparablydamagethelaserunit,
and invalidate the warranty.

Field Calibration Test
Thelaserunitleavesthefactoryfullycalibrated.Kaprorecommends
that the laser pointer is checked regularly, and after the unit has been
dropped or mishandled.
Checking accuracy – Plumb
1.PresstheON/OFFkeyonthekeypad.
2.Placetheunitonatripodapproximately1mabovetheoorand3m
from the ceiling.
3.MarkthePlumbUpandPlumbDownpointsontheceilingandoor
4.Rotatetheunit180°andalignthePlumbDownpointwiththemark
ontheoor.
5.MarkthePlumbUppointontheceiling.
6.Measurethedistancebetweenthetwomarksontheceiling.Ifthe
distanceislessthanorequalto3mm,thentheunitiscalibrated.
Checking accuracy – Level
1.PresstheON/OFFkeyonthekeypad.
2. Set up the unit between two walls at a distance of about 2.5m from
each wall.
3.Makeapointononeofthewalls(A1).
4.Rotatetheunit180°,andmarkapointontheoppositewall(A2).
5.Movetheunittoadistanceofabout0.5mawayfromtherstwall,
rotatetofacetherstwallandmarkasecondpoint(B1).
6.Rotatetheunit180,andmarkasecondpointontheopposite
wall(B2).
7.Calculate(A1-B1)–(A2-B2).Ifthedifferenceislessthanorequalto
3mm,thentheunitiscalibrated.
