Monofeed
A modular feed system like the EAS 124/126/128 is mainly
used for Monofeed. However, a compact feed system (e.g.
UAS 584) can also be attached.
• Attach the feed system in the middle position on the
mounting plate.
• Use a suitable instrument to line up the antenna for
best reception. Adjust azimuth and elevation alter-
nately until optimum settings are achieved (initial
settings for the location as given in the azimuth/
elevation table).
• Adjust/optimise the polarisation angle for the cross
polarisation isolation on the feed system (see also
the instructions for use of the feed system)
• Tighten all relevant screws
Multifeed
The mounting plate of the ZAS 181C can accept either two
compact feed systems (e.g. UAS 584) or one compact and
one modular feed system (e.g. EAS 126).
The indentations on the mounting plate are arranged in
such a way that the two feed systems can be placed for
reception of satellites with an orbital spacing of approx.
3°, such as Astra 19.2° and Eutelsat 16A.
• Mount feed system 1 for the preferred satellite in the
centre as for Monofeed reception, and line up the
antenna with the satellite.
• Move feed system 1 across to the o-centre Multi-
feed position.
• Adjust the azimuth angle for best reception
• Adjust the scale angle V on the scale faccording to
the enclosed table of V values (watch +/- sign), and
tighten the clamping screw to a torque of 17 Nm.
• Calculate Pole angleNew
Pole angleNew
1) = Pole angleTab
2) - V
and set it on the feed system for Sat 1. Optimise
the angle with your own measuring instrument if
required.
• Adjust the elevation angle to maximum reception.
• Adjust azimuth and elevation to maximum reception
once again.
• Tighten all the nuts and screws on the azimuth and
elevation mountings.
• Feed system 2: Adjust Pole angleNew and mount the
feed system in position 2 on the mounting plate.
• Check reception of Sat 2 and optimise Pole angleNew
of feed system 2 as required. Do not change the
scale angle V or the azimuth/elevation angle while
you are doing this.
