Old equipment disposal
This tanning device consists of
components that cannot be thrown into
the household garbage!
Dispose of your old equipment in an environmentally
friendly manner after the end of its useful life. Metals
and plastics can be recycled. Electrical and elect-
ronic components must be disposed of as e-waste.
Fluorescent lamps must be dropped o at authorized
collection points for pollutants.
This helps to avoid damaging eects to the environ-
ment and human health caused by improper disposal.
This makes a valuable contribution to recycling and
other forms of utilization of old electrical and electro-
nic equipment.
You can obtain information about environmentally
friendly disposal from your local government or the
municipal administrations.

Commissioning
Initial commissioning is carried out by the manu-
facturer or by trained and authorised specialist per-
sonnel. The tanning device is handed over ready for
operation.
As the studio operator, you are responsible for
observing the electrical regulations applicable at the
installation site.
If the tanning device has not been used for a longer
period of time, it must be inspected by trained and
authorised specialist personnel before being put into
operation again.
BEFORE INITIAL SWITCHING ON
• Attach the supplied warning sign or a sign with the
following wording permanently to the wall near the
tanning device.
Warning
UV radiation can cause eye and skin damage as
well as skin ageing and possibly skin cancer. Ask
the operating personnel for more information.
Wear protective goggles.
Certain medications or cosmetics may increase
sensitivity to UV radiation. If in doubt, consult a
doctor.
• Set the default settings in the service menu.
• Ensure the correct installation position of the uo-
rescent tubes. The tube marking must be visible,
otherwise no tanning eect can be achieved.
• Store these instructions so that they are always at
hand.
Operating modes
STANDBY MODE
The tanning device is in standby mode; this means it
is connected to the mains but is not being used. The
tubes and radiators are switched o. From standby
mode, the device switches to tanning mode and ser-
vice mode.
TANNING MODE
The tubes and radiators are switched on and tanning
is taking place. During tanning mode, the settings for
the current tanning can be changed via the control
panel.
SERVICE MODE
In service mode, the tanning device is congured for
tanning mode, various values can be queried, set-
tings can be made and test functions can be carried

Tanning instructions
As a rule, normally tanning skin will have achieved an
even tan after three to ve tanning sessions. These
tanning sessions should be done every other day. To
maintain the tan once it has been achieved, one to
two tanning sessions per week are usually sucient.
Notes for the user
Observe the following notes on tanning.
GENERAL
• Only persons as described in the chapter “Intended
use” may use the tanning device.
• Never exceed your personal minimum erythema
dose (MED). Adhere to the information in the tan-
ning tables and the tanning times specied therein.
• If reddening of the skin (erythema) occurs approx.
16-24 hours after tanning, suspend further tanning
for the time being. After one week, tanning can be
resumed at the beginning of the tanning table.
• If unexpected eects (e.g. itching) occur within 48
hours after the rst tanning session, consult a doc-
tor before further tanning sessions.
• Once a nal tan has been achieved, further tanning
can only be achieved by greatly exceeding the per-
missible tanning times. This should be avoided at
all costs.
• UV radiation from the sun or from UV devices can
cause irreversible skin or eye damage. The biologi-
cal eect depends on the quality and quantity of the
radiation as well as the individual’s skin sensitivity.
• In cases of severe individual sensitivity or allergic
reactions to UV radiation, a doctor should be con-
sulted before tanning begins.
• The skin may show sunburn after excessive radia-
tion. Excessive repeated UV radiation with sunlight
or UV devices can lead to premature ageing of the
skin and an increased risk of skin cancer.
• The unprotected eye can become inamed on the
surface and in certain cases, e.g. after cataract sur-
gery, excessive radiation can damage the retina.
Cataracts can form after many repeated radiations.
• Consult a doctor if persistent swellings or sores
form on the skin or pigmented moles change.
• Certain medical conditions or side eects of medi-
cations may be aggravated by ultraviolet radiation.
FOR EVERY TANNING SESSION
• Always wear the protective goggles provided.
Contact lenses or sunglasses are not a substitute
for the goggles!
• Remove cosmetics before radiation and do not use
any sunscreen or products that accelerate tanning.
The skin should be thoroughly cleansed and dry for
tanning.
• Allow at least 48 hours between tanning sessions.
• After tanning, do not sunbathe outside on the same
day.
• Protect sensitive skin areas such as scars, tattoos
and genitals from radiation.
