2 Overview
This chapter mainly introduces the product features, appearance, operation panel, work principle,
work modes, etc.
2.1 Product Intro
BCS-B-H series (1000K-1500K) PCS is researched and developed by Kehua Company, it is used in
the link of energy storage. The basic feature is bidirection (rectification, inversion), and it equips a
series of special performance and can be used in grid-tied and off-grid system. It can regulate and
control the electricity resource effectively and balance the difference of used electricity in different
seasons and day and night, and also, it guarantees the safety of grid. It is the important premise of
renewable energy sources and the effective means of realizing the interaction management of grid.
The PCS is the necessary link for achieving smart grid. The energy storage system is made up of
energy storage batteries, PCS and distribution system, boost transformer and load, as shown in
Figure2-1.

2.1.2 Features
Battery management
Bidirectional current transformation, charge and discharge the storage battery.
Can be charged in constant current or equalized charge mode or floating charge mode.
Can be discharged in constant power or constant current mode.
Perfect physics parameter
At most, 40 sets of the PCS can be used in parallel system. If the max. power of the PCS is
1500K, for 40 sets of the PCS, the max. power can be 60MW. It decreases the expansion cost and
achieves the best benefit for user.
The communication rate can be 2*100M, which achieves inter-switch of independent operation
and parallel operation between two circuits. It enhances the system operation rate and satisfies
the user needs for high efficiency and high speed.
The DC input voltage range is very wide, which is the leading level in partners. It is suitable for
use in various grid conditions.

Easy operation and close to user
Adopts 7 inch touch screen to make the daily management and maintenance easily. The touch
screen shows real-time operation parameter and status of the system.
The PCS provides various communication ways to satisfy the needs of high speed
communication. The scheduling communication adopts RS485 and Ethernet, BMS
communication adopts RS485and CAN.
The system supports the electric communication protocol of 104 and 61850 (optional) and is
suitable for various sites.
Precise operation and maintenance, reliable design
Single PCS can realize the switch between VF mode and PQ mode free. It makes the operation
and maintenance more conveniently.
Adopts DSP digitization technology, each energy storage container battery can balance the
capacity of themselves, which make the battery capacity of each container the same.
When the system part fault, it will exit to protect itself real time, which won’t affect the running
of micro-grid and guarantee the user benefit.
Provides multi protection function, such as islanding effect, low voltage ride through, etc., to
guarantee the device safety.
Can be used in highland. The used altitude can be 4000m at most. When the altitude exceeds
2000m, it needs to decrease rated power to use.
Green and high efficient, energy conservation
It can be scheduled by grid and the active power, reactive power can be adjusted independently,
the power factor can be adjusted at will.
It is suitable for multi-type battery and the battery charging & discharging rate can be adjusted
among several settings to achieve max. profit.
