IMPORTANT NOTE: Most buttons perform two or more functions
depending whether pressed momentarily, sustained (one second) or
maintained. The Navigation Button functions as a joystick. (up/down,
left/right and in) These functions can be easily reviewed on the camera by
first pressing the Navigation Button to show the main Menu. Use the
Navigation Button to move to the Settings Icon them select Tutorial.
1. MEMORY: Insert SD memory card into the slot under the rubber cover on the left side of the camera.
2. POWER: Insert a fully charged battery in to the base of the hand grip. The battery life is indicated in the upper
right corner of the LCD display.
3. START: Press and release the Power Button.
The LCD display will turn on and you will see the message “Warming up…” then the default start up
screen.
1. Note that the camera will operate while displaying the “Warming up…” message but if relying on
accurate temperatures is required wait until message no longer shows.
Slide the build in lens cover to the open position.
To turn the camera off, press and hold the Power Button until you see the message “Shutting down…”
displayed on the screen.
4. AUTO ADJUST: (Level and Span) The default start-up mode is the mode that was active when the power was
shut off after the last use. “Auto” or “Manual” will be displayed in the lower right corner of the LCD screen.
To toggle between Auto adjust and Manual adjust press the Auto/Manual button for 1 second.
5. FOCUS: Focus by slowly rotating the manually focusing ring on the infrared camera lens. You may need to
readjust Level and Span after focusing. (Min. Focus distance=10cm, 4in)

6. MANUAL ADJUST: (Level and Span) To toggle between Auto adjust and Manual adjust press the
Auto/Manual button for 1 second until Manual appears in the lower left corner.
In Manual mode adjust Span by moving the Navigation Button; left to decrease and right to increase.
In Manual mode adjust Level by moving the Navigation Button; Up to raise and Down to lower.
NOTE: While in Manual mode you can also perform a one-time Auto Level and Span adjustment by
momentarily pressing the Auto/Manual button
7. PAUSE IMAGE: Pause or Freeze the image by momentarily pulling the front Trigger.
A menu will be displayed with the options available for the paused image.
To return to a live image without selecting a menu item press the Back Button
8. SAVE IMAGE: To save an image first pause the image as above.
If after review you wish to save the image, use the Navigation Button to move down to the Save option
and press the Enter Button (Navigation Button straight in).
NOTE: You can also save an image without pausing it by pulling and holding the Trigger. (This is not a
good practice)
9. RECAL IMAGE: To recall the last image press the Play Button and pick
from the menu.
If you would like a thumbnail view to select an image: Recall the
last image and when it appears press the Play Button again
to view thumbnails.
1. To delete images (while in thumbnail view) press and hold
the Play Button to add a checkbox by each image. Select
each to be deleted with the Navigation Button, then press the Delete Button.
10. PALETTE: From the default start-up screen press the Navigation Button to view the main Menu. Select
Imaging, then Color Palette.
11. EMISSIVITY: From the default start-up screen press the Navigation Button to view the main Menu. Select
Parameters (“Param”) then select and change Emissivity.
12. REFLECTIVE BACKGROUND TEMPERATURE: From the default start-up screen press the Navigation
Button to view the main Menu. Select Parameters (“Param”) then select and change Reflective.
