at a safe place, as it will be required
when making a claim under warranty.
We trust that you will enjoy the use of
your KID CAR.
Always check before taking the KID
CAR out for a ride
• Has the drawbar been correctly
placed, is the locking pin in place and
is the spring clip secured?
• Do the wheels fit properly in the axle
holes, have the locking pins been
placed and the spring clips secured?
• Has the coupling been placed in the
interlocking device and has the seat
belt been fitted?
• Have the buttons to secure the rear
(rolling)cage been set in the locking
position?
• Are your children wearing the five-
point seat belts?
• Are the brakes of your bicycle in good
working order?
• Has the running wheel been tucked
away in the holder?
• Has the parking brake been
released?
After taking your new KID CAR from
the box, check that you have received a
complete set:

1. Assembling the base pack
First take the base frame with floor, the
wheels and the parts box simultaneously
from the box.
Put the base frame with floor on the
ground. Protect the floor and frame parts
against damage. You may wish to cover
the ground surface with a rug or a sheet
of plastic first.
Put the parts box and the wheels aside.
Sit behind the base frame with the floor,
and hold the horizontal tube of the rear
brace in one hand.
Move the horizontal tube to the back
(A).
Pull the horizontal tube in the recess at
the top of the floor (B).
Turn the two buttons in the locking
position (C) once the horizontal tube
of the rear brace is in the recess. The
button pins will lock automatically.

1.2 Assembly of the back
Assembly of the back of the Cocoon
The back of the KID CAR Cocoon is to be
tightened using four adjustable straps.
Stretch the back across the cross tube
as shown in the illustration and connect
the corresponding buckles. Tighten the
seat by pulling the straps down. When
folding the Cocoon away, unlock the
buckles and follow the above directions
in reverse order.
Assembly of the back of the Comfort
The Comfort has a fixed back, kept
in place by guide plates and butterfly
knobs. First turn the butterfly knobs
from the adjustment plates. Tilt the back
backwards until the guide plates make
contact with the adjustment plates.
Turn the butterfly knobs back into the
adjustment plates.
Do not completely remove the butterfly
knobs when adjusting the back. Just
loosen the butterfly knobs until the back
can be changed to a different position,
and retighten the knobs.
The butterfly knobs must be completely
removed before folding the Comfort
away. This will allow you to fold the
back forward. To make sure you will not
lose any parts, we suggest you put the
butterfly knobs back into the adjustment
plates before you continue to fold the
KID CAR Comfort away. Follow the
remaining steps in reverse order.
1.3 Installing the wheels
Slide the axle shafts of the wheels into
the axle holders. Push the locking pins
in the appropriate holes and secure the
interlocking device;
Finally, put the hub caps onto the wheel
hubs. The hub caps are in the parts box.
On the inside of the hub caps are three
little studs. Place these studs in the
corresponding holes of the wheel hubs.
Turn the cap clockwise for the cap to
tighten itself.
1.4 Stroller wheel
To attach the stroller wheel, slide the pin
from the bottom into the holder. Secure
the pin using the locking pin that fits in
the hole of the pin.
Before using the KID CAR as a bike
trailer, the stroller wheel must be
stowed away in the appropriate space
on the right-hand side of the floor edge.
Slide the pin through the tube with the
swivelling wheel pointing up. This will
keep the stroller wheel in place by the
floor edge. Push the locking pin through
the hole of the locking pin to secure the
stroller wheel.
1.5 The front cover
The front cover is kept in place by an
adjustable strap that holds the cover
tight between the two roller cage
parts. Unroll the front cover and move
the back section forward to make the
adjustable strap visible. Spread the front
cover across the roller cages as in the
illustration.
Guide the end of the adjustable strap,
from the top down, through the plastic
rings of the roller cage on either side.
Make sure that the cover is reasonably
centred. Pull the left and right-hand side
tight and secure with Velcro.
3
1.6 Installing the frontcover
Pull the cover around the far end of the
tubes at the top of the roller cages.
Pull the cover around the front of the
plastic floor. Pull the elastic cord around
the studs on the plastic floor.
Pull the back of the cover tight in the
same manner. In this case, use the stud
on the back of the floor.
1,7 Pushbar
The pushbar connects to the protruding
tube parts of the roller cages. The
pushbar has two settings: curving up
for tall users and curving down for short
users. Push the two ends of the pushbar
in the released tube ends. The pushbar
is secured with the grey tube locking pins

The
parking
brake
Stand behind the KID CAR and use a toe
cap to push the brake lever down into the
parking position or move it up to go for a
ride.
2.3 Storing the drawbar when going for
a walk
Look for a hook on the flag holder at
the back of the KID CAR. Lower the
drawbar in the opening of the pushbar
(the coupling facing up), and attach the
end of the tube to the hook. The top of
the drawbar rests against the right side
of the pushbar. Secure the drawbar by
winding the safety ribbon around the
tube of the pushbar.
1,8 Rear light
The KID CAR Comfort and Cocoon
come standard with a battery rear light.
The rear light has not been fitted by the
manufacturer to prevent any damage
during transport. Remove the lock
nuts and tighten the bolts using a no. 8
spanner. Make sure that the rear is firmly
secured but do not overstress the bolts.
2.4 Rolling up the frontcover
The KID CAR Cocoon and Comfort
are having a 2-in-1 front- and mosquito
cover. Zip fasteners are used to open
and close the front cover. Use the
ribbon at the centre to roll the front- and
mosquito cover up and hold it in place. To
leave the rear window open, unzip and
fold the window inwards. Close the zips
up to the folding line. In that way you will
be able to control the amount of fresh air
coming in.
Unzip to the obstruction and roll the
front window from the bottom up. The
ribbon that holds the window in place
will appear. Push the ribbon over the
rolled-up window and through the ring at
the back of the ribbon. Use the Velcro to
secure. To do so, the rear window must
also be rolled up or folded inwards. 4
2 Daily use of the KID CAR
2.1 Seat belts:
The KID CAR Cocoon and Comfort have
been fitted with a special safety harness.
Start adjusting the five-point seat belt on
the child’s tummy. The shoulder belts are
adjusted up and down. For optimal safety
the belts should be level with the top of
the child’s shoulders. The shoulder
cross belt is always used in combination
with the lap belt.
With one child sitting in the middle, the
two centre seat belts are to be used.
In that case the two outside belts are
not being used. The central part of the
seat belt set is moved to the centre.
Remember to tightly secure the belts
around the child’s shoulders and lap.
The belts prevent the children from
spontaneously stepping out of the cart or
moving forward during a sudden stop.
3. Bike set assembly
3.1 Tow bar
The box of the tow bar contains the
following items:
1. Tow bar with remounted stainless
steel ball
2. Cog A, B, C,D
3. Plastic ring (Use only with quick-
release axle)
4. Axle ring (use only with cog C and
D)
5.3 Connecting the tongue
Remove the locking pin (B) before
connecting the tongue (A). Move the
tongue through both tongue holders (C).
Push the tongue through until the end
aligns the black line on the frame. The
curve of the tongue must be on the left-
hand side.
2.6 Detachable side windows
The KID CAR Comfort has been fitted
with 2-in-1 rain and mosquito mesh
side windows. Zip fasteners are used to
open and close the windows, allowing
even more fresh air for the children. The
unique design has made the windows
interchangeable, so there is no need to
mark the left or right side window.
Tip! You may also wish to unzip the
window half open and fold the front
inward, allowing fresh air but without
any draught around the children’s
heads.
5
2.5 Complete front cover
It is also possible to fully roll up the front
cover. Roll the cover from the bottom
up. Make sure that the ribbon is not also
rolled up, but is laying loose instead.
Run the ribbon from the back over the
front cover and through the ring that is
now showing below the cover. Pull the
ribbon tight and secure with the Velcro.
The cover may have to be pushed a
little further to the back to be adequately
secured.
Always assemble the tow bar on the left
side of the bicycle on the rear axle. Install
the tow bar according the instruction
supplied with the tow bar.
(A) (C)
(C)
(B)
With the tongue positioned in both
holders, push the locking pin through
the rear tongue holder and tongue.
Attention: Make sure that the locking
pin runs through the bottom and top
of the tongue holder.
Removing the tongue
After removing the tongue, replace the
locking in the tongue holder.
3.3 Tongue with rapid-action coupling
The patented rapid-action coupling
with the tongue gives an immediate
connection of the KID CAR to the bicycle.
The ball ensures that the KID CAR and
the bicycle can move independently from
one another.
Connect the coupling to the ball on the
tow bar by pulling the ring of the locking
mechanism (1) up, and simultaneously
turning the lower part of the coupling
clockwise (2).
The coupling will now fit around the ball.
Turn the lower part of the coupling back
(2). The locking pin will fall in the locking
mechanism by itself.
Pull the safety belt through the frame of
the bicycle and strap the belt with the
buckle on the tongue.
Attention! Always secure the tongue
with the safety belt.
3.4 Safety flag:
The safety flag makes riding a bike
safer for you and your children. The
flag flies above the traffic. The swinging
movements of the flag signal your
presence with the KID CAR to other road
users. Therefore, always use the safety
flag when you go for a bike ride with the
KID CAR.
Fold the spring clip of the locking pin
up ward so the tongue is locked. Check
whether the tongue is secured by moving
the tongue forward and backward while
blocking the KID CAR.

Warranty and liability
The KID CAR Company provides a 2-
year warranty on defects in manufacture
from the date of purchase.
1. The KID CAR has been made to
transport young children. No claim
under warranty can be made if
the damage has been caused by
negligence, such as exceeding the
maximum load, taking corners at high
speed, riding in sea water or storing
in wet or moist areas.
2. The KID CAR Company BV provides
warranty with regard to the fabric
span, seat, front cover, mosquito
cover and sunshade in the event of
clearly demonstrable manufacture
and/or material defects. The warranty
does not apply to any weather action,
such as from the sun, moist and sea
water.
3. Only your dealer will consider any
claims under warranty. Contact your
dealerfor any such claims, and he will
process your request accordingly.
4. Parts considered for claims under
warranty must be packed in a manner
that rules out any further damage
during transport.
5. Warranty does not apply to wear
and tear of parts, e.g. wear of inner
tubes and tyres, fading fabric parts,
deterioration as a result of weather
influences such as sun, rain and
wind.
6. The KID CAR Company BV explicitly
rejects any liability arising from
the possession, the use or putting
into operation. The buyer shall be
fully responsible for the control,
use and compliance with the safety
precautions. The KID CAR Company
BV shall assume no liability for
damage to third parties insofar such
damage is not in violation of civil
liability rules.
7. Any disputes shall be exclusively
governed by Netherlands law.
8. The above conditions of warranty
shall take precedence above any
other conditions in terms of warranty
and liability the buyer may produce.
For more information or any questions
you may have, please contact your
dealer.

4. Riding with the KID CAR
Preparation
First attach the KID CAR to the bicycle
before allowing the children to get in.
Before every ride, always check that all
connections and fasteners are securely
tight and locked. Remember to also fit
the extra safely belt while connecting the
coupling to the bicycle.
Riding
Riding with the KID CAR trailer is
different from just riding a bike. At the
beginning you may find the length, width
and the weight of the cart rather unusual.
Practise without child passengers first.
Make left and right turns and see how
the KID CAR behaves when riding along
kerbstones and other obstacles. When
riding along a tram rail, remember that
the KID CAR follows a different track.
Always approach barriers or judder bars
at a right angle.
Getting in
Hold the bicycle tight while the children
are getting in. Make sure that the bicycle
firmly stands against a wall or lamp post.
Once the children are seated, you may
let the bicycle go and fasten the seat
belts.
Never leave the children on their own
Never leave the children in the KID CAR
without supervision.Always park the KID
CAR in a way it cannot accidentally roll
away. Better still: always engage the
parking brake when the bike is not in
use.
Safety helmets
Always tell the child to wear an approved
safety helmet. Research has shown that
85% of head injuries could have been
prevented if only the cyclists had been
wearing approved safety helmets.
Front cover
Your KID CAR is included with a front
cover. These covers are protecting the
children against insects and any road
grit during the ride. Flying insects and
road grit may cause injuries or do other
harm to your children. For that reason we
advise to always go for a ride with the
front cover cover closed.
Load
The KID CAR can carry children up to
6 years old. The maximum load, i.e.
the children plus any baggage, is 60kg.
Avoid point concentrated load on the
floor. Remember that dropping a 50 kg
object from a height of 20 cm has an
impact of 200 kg on the floor. Do not
allow the children to jump onto the
floor of the KID CAR.
Being seen and lighting
Your KID CAR has optimal exposure with
reflective strips around the fabric span
and the tyres. The safety flag swinging
back and forth make other road users
aware of your presence, and at the back
a reflector is mounted. When riding in
the dark, you must use the rear light ,for
better security.
Preventing theft
Purchase a sturdy padlock with a solid,
long chain. Check for any fixed objects,
such as trees or bicycle stands. Pull the
chain through the tongue holders of the
KID CAR and through the frame of the
bicycle. In that way everything is locked
and secured at once. Do not leave any
valuables unattended in the KID CAR!
5. Maintenance and inspection
Checking
Check the KID CAR regularly and have
it serviced annually by your dealer. Keep
the tyres at the right pressure and tighten
the air valve caps. Regularly check that
all (bolted) connections remain secure.
The moving parts of the KID CAR require
no maintenance. Use a silicone-based
lubricant for the ball bearings, if so
required.
Cleaning
For cleaning the KID CAR, use water
only (plus a detergent under certain
conditions). Use no solvents in any
event. The cloth of the fabric span and
the front cover has a water-repellent
coating that is not suitable for treatment
with chemical solvents. Do not use a
high-pressurespraying pistol for cleaning
purposes!
Storage
The KID CAR is 78 cm wide and will
basically pass through every door. For
many years of enjoyment from your KID
CAR we suggest you do not leave the car
permanentlyoutsideovernight.Thefabric
spanis made of water-repellentmaterials
but is not resistant to permanent moist
exposure. This may cause mould and/or
damp stains. Allow any damp fabric to
dry out in a dry area.
