Preparation
1. Do not operate the product when barefoot or wearing open
sandals.
2. Donotwearlooseclothing,longhairopenlyorloosejewellery
like necklaces etc. when operating the machine. They might be
caught by rotating parts and cause serious injuries.

• Storefuelincontainersspecicallydesignedfor
this purpose.
• Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while
refuelling.
• Addfuelbeforestartingtheengine.Neverremove
the fuel tank cap or add petrol while the engine is
running or when the engine is hot.
• Ifpetrolisspilt,donotattempttostarttheengine
butmovetheproductawayfromtheareaof
spillageandavoidcreatinganysourceofignition
untilpetrolvapourshavedissipated.
• Replace all fuel tank and container caps securely.
3. Replace faulty silencers.
4. Beforeusing,alwaysvisuallyinspecttoseethatthedrillingtool,
locking bolt and R-clip are not worn or damaged. Replace worn
ordamageddrillingtoolsandboltsinsetstopreservebalance.

Operation
1. Keep the handles clean and dry at all times; It is particularly
importanttokeepthemfreeofmoisture,pitch,oil,fuelmix,
greaseorresininorderforyoutomaintainarmgripand
properly control your product.
2. Donotoperatetheengineinaconnedspacewheredangerous
carbon monoxide fumes can collect.
3. Usetheproductonlyindaylightoringoodarticiallight.
4. Donotoperatetheproductwhilebeingtired,illorunder
inuenceofalcoholordrugs.
5. Do not lean against the machine during drilling.
6. Always beware of the rotating drilling tool.
7. OnlyusetheproductOUTSIDEandfarawayfromwindows,
doors,andvents.
8. The use of the product not according with the required
dimensions is forbidden.
9. The use of the product not being suitable for the intended or not
beingcertiedisforbidden.
10. Striking a hard object in the earth with the rotary drilling tool
and the resulting slowing or stopping of the auger creates
reactiveforces.Thetransferofrotational(reactive)forcescan
cause the auger gear box and handles to rotate suddenly in a
counterclockwise direction and can result in loss of control or
cause the handle frame to hit the operator or throw him to the
ground,resultinginseriousinjury.
11. The use of this machine may be hazardous. If the drilling tool
comesincontactwithyourbody,itcouldcauseimpact,cutor
entanglement.
12. Use your product only for drilling holes in soil with drilling tools.
13. Caution in slippery conditions - slip hazard - risk of injury. When
working,robustandnon-slipfootwear.Slides/stumble/traps
are a major cause of serious injury.

14. The hand-held earth auger is not allowed to be used on the
slope;Whenusedonaslope,theoperatormayeasilylosehis
balance and fall down.
15. Working on icy or slippery ground is forbidden!
16. Avoidusingtheproductinbadweatherconditionsespecially
when there is a risk of lightning.
17. Do not alter or tamper with any sealed adjustments for the
engine speed control.
18. Do not tamper or disable any product’s safety systems or
features.
19. Ensure and regularly check that all starting interlocks and
operator presence controls are properly functioning.
20. Stop the product according to instructions in this manual before
leavingtheoperator’spositionandparkitinasafelocation.
21. Avoidsettingdownahotunitontodry,ammablematerial,or
touchingthehotmufer.
22. Start the engine carefully according to instructions and with feet
well away from the drilling tool.
23. Keep hands and feet away from the drilling tool at all times and
especially when starting the engine.
24. Incaseofanysituationmentionedbelow,stoptheengineand
disconnectthesparkplugconnector,makesurethatallmoving
partshavecometoacompletestopand:
• beforeclearingblockages,
• beforechecking,cleaningorworkingontheproduct,
• after striking a foreign object. Inspect the product for damage
andmakerepairsbeforerestartingandoperatingtheproduct,
• iftheproductstartstovibrateabnormally(checkimmediately).

25. Duringoperation,thegearbox,muferandthepartsaroundit
reach extremely high temperatures. Keep these hot parts away

26. Neverpickuporcarryaproductwhiletheengineisrunning.
27. Nevertouchtheexhaust,exhaustguardorcoolingnswhenthe
engine is hot.
28. Nevercarelesslytouchhotpartsoftheproduct,youcanburn
yourself.Whiletheproductisinoperationorshortlythereafter,
itspartssuchastheexhaustpipe,engine,gearboxandother
surfaces are extremely hot! Pay attention to the markings on the
product.
29. Makesurethattheairventsofthecombustionengineareclear.
Keeptheairventsfreeofdust,dirtparticles,gasesandfumes.
30. Neverstartorruntheengineindoors.Theexhaustfumesare
dangerous,containingcarbonmonoxide,anodourlessand
deadlygas.Operatethisproductonlyinwellventilatedoutdoor
areas.
Maintenance and storage
1. Follow the maintenance and repair instructions for this product.
Nevercarryoutanymodicationsoftheproduct.Neverchange
the preset rotary speed or the engine and product settings.
Informationaboutmaintenanceandrepairisprovidedinthis
user manual.
2. Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttobesuretheproductisin
safe working condition.
3. Impropermaintenance,usingnon-genuineparts,orremoving/
modifying safety components may lead to malfunction / failure of
the product and injury of operators. Many accidents are caused
by poorly maintained products.
4. Neverstoretheproductwithpetrolinthetankinsideabuilding
wherefumescanreachanopenameorspark.
5. Toreducetherehazard,keeptheengine,silencerandpetrol
storageareafreeofgrass,leaves,orexcessivegreaseto
reducetherehazard.
6. Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure. Clean
and maintain the product before storage.
7. Ifthefueltankhastobedrained,thisshouldbedoneoutdoors.
8. Wearstrongworkgloveswhenremovingandre-assemblingthe
drilling tools.

9. Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Use only the genuine
replacement parts and spare parts.
10. Ensure that only replace the recommended drilling tool with the
correct type.
Fuel handling
1. Beforerefuelling,stoptheengine,disconnectthesparkplug
connectorandlettheproductcool.Fuelandfuelvapoursare
highlyammable.Takecarewhenhandlingfuel.Neversmoke
whenyouarerefuellingtheproduct.Donotrefueltheproduct,if
thereisanopenreinthevicinity!
2. Alwaysusesuitableaidssuchasfunnelsandllernecks.Do
not spill any fuel on the product or its exhaust system. There is a
riskofignition.However,iffuelshouldbespilled,thenyoumust
removeitcarefullyfromallpartsoftheproduct.Anyresidue
whichmaybepresentmustbecompletelyremoved,beforethe
product is operated!
3. Neverrefuelindoors.Exhaustgasesandfuelfumesare
noxious.
4. Neverusetheproductinenvironmentswherethereisariskof
explosion. Fuel fumes can ignite.
5. Neverbreatheinanyfuelfumes,whenyouarerefuelling
theproduct.Neverllthetankinenclosedspaces,suchas
basements or sheds. There is a risk of poisoning and explosion!
6. Avoidskincontactwithpetrol.
7. Donoteatordrink,whileyouarerefuellingtheproduct.Ifyou
haveswallowedpetroloroil,orifpetroloroilhasgotintoyour
eyes,thenseekmedicaladviceimmediately.
8. Closethefueltankcapimmediatelyafterllingthefueltank.
Make sure that it is properly closed.
9. Neverusetheproductwithoutanairlter.
10. Fuelvapourpressuremaybuildupinsidethefueltank
dependingonthefuelused,weatherconditionsandthetank
ventingsystem.Toreducetheriskofburnsandotherpersonal
injuries,removethefuelcapcarefullytoallowanypressurebuild
up to release slowly.
11. Beawareofrerisks,explosionandinhalationrisks.

12. Donotsmokewhileoperatingtheproduct,handlingfuelornear
fuel.
13. Ensure the spark plug lead is secured; a loose lead may cause
electrical arcing that could ignite combustible fumes and cause
areorexplosion.
14. Check regularly for leaks from the fuel cap and fuel lines.
15. Dousecautionwhenhandlingfuel.Toavoidanyaccidental
res,movetheproductatleast3metres(10’)fromthefuelling
point before starting the engine.
16. Tightenthefueltankcapthoroughlyafterrellingthefueltank.
17. Donotoperatetheproductifitisleakingfuel.Donotremovethe
fuel tank cap while the engine is running.
18. Useonlyanapprovedcontainerforthispurpose.
19. Donotstorecansoffuelorrellthefueltankinanyplacewhere
thereisaboiler,stove,woodre,electricalsparks,welding
sparks,orothersourcesofheatorrewhichmightignitethe
fuel.
20. Ifanyfuelspillageoccursduringrefuelling,useadryragtowipe
upspillsandallowremainingfueltoevaporatebeforeturningthe
engine on again.
21. Ifyouhavespiltfuelonyourselforonyourclothes,changeyour
clothes and wash any part of your body that has come in contact
with fuel before turning the engine on again.
22. Iffuelisignited,putouttherewithadrypowderre
extinguisher.
23. Ifthefueltankisdrained,thisshouldbedoneoutdoors.
Causes and operator prevention of kickback
Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the drilling tool touches
anobject,orwhenthewireorundergrowtharetrappedinthecut.
Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control of the
machine which could result in serious personal injury. Do not rely
exclusivelyuponthesafetydevicesbuiltintoyourmachine.Asa
productuser,youshouldtakeseveralstepstokeepyourdrillingjobs
free from accident or injury.

Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating
proceduresorconditionsandcanbeavoidedbytakingproper
precautionsasgivenbelow:
1. In case of kickback (rebound), release the throttle trigger
immediately and hold the product handle with both hands
to avoid losing control of the machine and causing danger.
2. Maintain a rm grip, with thumbs and ngers encircling
the product handles, with both hands on the machine and
position your body and arm to allow you to resist kickback
forces.
Kickbackforcescanbecontrolledbytheoperator,if
proper precautions are taken. Do not let go of the product.
3. Only use replacement drilling tool specied by the
manufacturer.
Incorrect replacement drilling tools may cause
drill breakage and/or kickback.
4. Ensure yourself that there are no loose objects lying
around in the working area.
5. Eliminate high grass, bushes etc. from the immediate
working area.
They might be winded up by the rotating drilling
tool and block it.
6. Take especially care, if the ground contains many stones
or roots.
An unattended stalling of the drilling tool might easily
cause an accident.
Vibration and noise reduction
To reduce the impact of noise and vibration emission, limit the
time of operation, use low-vibration and low-noise operating
modes as well as wear personal protective equipment.
Long-term exposure to noise can result in permanent hearing
impairment. So always use approved hearing protection.
Takethefollowingpointsintoaccounttominimizethevibrationand
noise exposure risks:
1. Duringaworkingday,youshalltakefrequentandadequate
breakstopreventdamagefromvibrationanddamagetothe
ears.

2. Only use the product as intended by its design and these
instructions.
3. Ensure that the product is in good condition and well maintained.
4. Use correct attachments for the product and ensure they are in
good condition.
5. Keep tight grip on the handles/gripping surface.
6. Maintain this product in accordance with these instructions and
keep it well lubricated (where appropriate).
7. Planyourworkscheduletospreadanyhighvibrationtooluse
across a longer period of time.
8. Prolongeduseoftheproductexposestheusertovibrationsthat
cancausearangeofconditionscollectivelyknownashand-arm
vibrationsyndrome(HAVS)e.g.ngersgoingwhite;aswellas
specicdiseasessuchascarpaltunnelsyndrome.Toreduce
thisriskwhenusingtheproduct,alwayswearprotectivegloves
and keep your hands warm.
Emergency
Familiarise yourself with the use of this product by means of
this instruction manual. Memorise the safety directions and
follow them to the letter. This will help to prevent risks and
hazards.
1. Always be alert when using this product, so that you can
recognize and handle risks early. Fastinterventioncan
preventseriousinjuryanddamagetoproperty.
2. Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug connector
if there are malfunctions. Havetheproductcheckedbya
qualiedprofessionalandrepaired,ifnecessary,beforeyou
operate it again.
3. In case of re stop the engine and disconnect the spark
plug connector. Takere-extinguishingmeasuresimmediately
if the product switch is no longer accessible.

Assembly
WARNING! The product must be fully assembled before operation! Do not use

Disconnect the spark plug connector (15) from the spark plug (15a)! Reconnect
it after assembly.
NOTE: Takecareofsmallpartsthatareremovedduringassemblyorwhen
makingadjustments.Keepthemsecuretoavoidloss.
Fitting the drilling tool
NOTE:Twodrillingtoolsareprovidedwithdifferentdrillingdiameter.Ensurethat
the required drilling tool (18/19) is correctly assembled before each use.
Re-assemble it if necessary.
