PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT

GENERAL
INSTALLATION
OPERATION AND PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
The THPW1-C* digit l progr mm ble thermost t consists of the
thermost t tr nsmitter nd the remote m ins oper ted receiver
unit.
It h s 7d ys preset progr ms which c n be t ilored to suit your
lifestyle.
The THPW1-C* tr nsmitter is oper ted by 2x AA size b tteries
nd c n repl ce ny mech nic l st nd rd 2wire thermost t.
Ple se note th t the m ximum resistive lo d is 16A.
These units re p ired during m nuf cture nd the oper ting
ch nnel is given by letter code. When inst lling more th n one
unit in system ensure e ch thermost t p ir h s different letter
code.
SAFET INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions fully before
attempting installation.
IF IN DOUBT, INSTALLATION SHOULD BE MADE B A
QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CURRENT WIRING REGULATIONS.
1. You should pl ce the thermost t s following:
. About 160cm up from the floor.
b.Only on inside w lls (not on n outside w ll).
c. Do not expose to direct sun light.
d.Do not position close to he ter, ventil tion outlet or
close to n outside door.
2. Remove the front cover. Unscrew the screw in the b ttery
comp rtment. Remove the front housing from the b se.
3. Using the b se s templ te, drill two holes in the w ll nd
secure the b se with ppropri te w ll plugs nd screws.
4. Repl ce the front housing onto b se nd repl ce the screw
in b ttery comp rtment.
5. Inst ll 2x AA size b tteries into b ttery comp rtment nd
repl ce front c se.
6. Press the reset button once to enter time set mode.

To view programs:
THPW1-C* thermost t is weekly progr mm ble thermost t,
nd e ch d y c n be progr mmed sep r tely.
E ch hour c n select or temper ture. However weekly
f ctory preset progr m is inst lled.
This preset progr m is set to suit most f milies life style. See
t ble 3.1 for f ctory preset progr m.
Description of each key function:
- To enter into program mode
- To view an Temperatures
- To enter into time and day adjustment mode
Reset - To reset the unit into initial mode
- To turn the unit on or off
- To enter into Vacation mode
- To confirm setting
- To override into CT (COMFORT Temperature) mode (20°C)
- To override into ET (ECONOM Temperature) mode (17°C)
- Temporary temperature override mode or increase
value adjustment
- Temporary temperature override mode or decrease
value adjustment
Press key. The Mond y preset progr m t 0.00 is on displ y.
Press or key the displ y will show the temper ture setting in
e ch hour. E.g. Mond y progr m show 0:00 -5:59 nd 8:00 -
15:59 re set t evening temp.,6:00 -7:59 nd 16:00 -22:59 is
set t CT. Note 23:00 -0:00 is set t ET.
Press key the next d y preset progr m is displ yed. Ag in
Press or key. This will show the temper ture setting t e ch
hour. Repe t bove steps, e ch preset progr m will displ y until
Sund y. Once Sund y progr m h s been reviewed. Press key.
The displ y will return into running mode.
To set clock and day:
After the b tteries (2x AA size) h ve been inst lled into the
thermost t unit, or reset or key is pressed, the thermost t is
in time djustment mode.
The hour is fl shing. Press or key to djust hour.
Press key to confirm setting. The minute is fl shing.
Press or key to djust minute. Press key to confirm
setting. The d y is fl shing. Press or key to djust d y.
Press key to confirm setting. This will
confirm the setting of time nd d y.
The displ y will return into running mode.
E.g. If you h ve set the clock t 8.30 FRIDAY
nd the room temper ture is 25°C.

To change preset program:
The preset progr m m y not be suit ble for some f milies but
the progr m m y be djusted to suit your living life style.
The following instruction will llow you to ch nge the preset
progr m.
Press key to enter into progr m viewing mode.
Press key to select the d y of progr m to m ke ch nge.
Press or key to select the hour to m ke ch nge. Press or
to select the temper ture to m ke ch nge. E.g. To ch nge
S turd y 12:00 -16:59 from CT to 12:00 -16:59 ET.
1. Press key to enter into progr m viewing mode.
2. Press key to select the d y to S turd y progr m.
3. Press key until 12:00 with CT setting.
4. Press key to ch nge CT period to ET period.
5. Repe t step 3&4to ch nge 13:00 -14:00 from CT period to
ET period.
6. Press key to confirm setting. Press key to return into
running mode.
7. You c n review the progr m on
S turd y to check the progr m nd
confirm the setting (Fig 4).

Important
Note: Do not set the beginning and end of the program to 0:00
due to the thermostat needing this time for its reference use.
Therefore you must set the beginning or end time at 23:00 or
01:00.
To view and change or temperature:
The CT nd ET temper ture is preset t below t ble for he ting

Press key to view CT nd ET temper ture mode.
Press to ch nge the viewing of CT setting from ET setting or
press key to ch nge the viewing of ET setting from CT setting.
The temper ture is fl shing t this moment. Press or
key to ch nge CT or ET setting. Press key to confirm the
setting nd return to running mode.
To set temporary manual override temperature:
This function llows you to ch nge the present temper ture
setting to tempor ry temper ture setting from next 1hour up
to 48 hours. Press or to enter the m nu l override
temper ture mode nd temper ture is fl shing.
Press or key to select override temper ture. Press key to
confirm temper ture setting. H will displ y nd fl sh.
Press or key to select hours for overriding time.
The m ximum hours re 48. Press key to confirm setting.
To cancel manual, temporary, vacation or permanent
override:
Press or key to return into running mode. Or press key
to turn off the unit.
To switch the unit ON and OFF:
Press key to turn off from on. Press key to turn on from off.
To reset the unit:
Press the Reset key to reset the unit into initi l clock setting
mode. All previous progr ms will reset to f ctory preset
settings.
User Optional Selection:
On the b ck of the front housing there is DIP SWITCH on the
PCB where the user c n select following option:
To set temporary override program temperature:
This function llows you to tempor rily override the CT
temper ture from the ET temper ture settings, until next CT
setting (or vice vers ).
Progr m temper ture setting until next ET setting.
The unit is running t CT progr m period. Press to ch nge
from CT to ET setting (until the next CT progr m period).
The unit is running t ET progr m hour. Press to ch nge
from ET to CT setting (until next ET progr m hour).
Note: The first hour of override (1H) will only run for m ximum
45 minutes. However from second hour onw rd will run for full
hour timing. e.g. If you select 2hours override the m ximum
time of override will be 1hour nd 45 minutes.
To set vacation or permanent override temperature:
This function llows you to set your v c tion temper ture from
1to 99 d ys or to set perm nent override temper ture forever.
Press key will displ y under “SA SU” nd fl sh. Press or
key to select the number of d y for your v c tion period.

ON = AIR CONDITIONING
OFF = HEATING
Sensor:
This thermost t (THPW1-C*) uses the most dv nce
temper ture sensing element loc ted on the lower right side of
the c st under the grill. If the sensor is touched ccident lly you
must llow few minutes for sensor to come b ck to norm l
temper ture.
The temper ture is me sured every minute.
Note th t if you connect the receiver to 230V AC system,
ple se m ke sure the power is switched off nd th t only
person with good electric l knowledge c rries out the
inst ll tion. This receiver h s volts free cont cts.
If you h ve mech nic l receiver connected with 2wires just
t ke w y the old receiver nd repl ce it with THPW1-C* re-
ceiver. Connect the wires to the termin ls s shown in Fig 5.
Note: The base unit of this product must be mounted within a
suitable enclosure. Base unit is DIN rail mountable.
Receiver should be mounted on w ll close to the boiler nd
within 50m of the THPW1-C* thermost t tr nsmitter.
Receiver should be mounted on 65mm long section of DIN
r il within suit ble enclosure. Red “on” indic tor illumin tes
when the “he t on” indic tor is showing on the THPW1-C*
thermost t tr nsmitter.
230V AC input supply to THPW1-C* receiver should be from
switched spur unit fused t 3Amps.

period will be perm nent override. Press key to confirm the

Press or key to select temper ture. Press key to confirm
the override setting.
