142 Safety Door Switches in the Lamphouse
Door switches (black arrow) are mount-
ed behind the inner cover plates. The
xenon lamp does only ignite if these
covers are mounted (switch contact).
143 Temperature Sensor in the
Lamphouse
The temperature sensor (white arrow) measures the temperature in the lamphouse.
If the temperature is excessive, e. g. because a fan fails, the xenon lamp will be
switched off.
144 Air Flow Switch in the Lamphouse
The air ow switch is positioned close
to the radial fan (arrow).
As soon as the lamp is turned on the
fan operates.
If the air ow is interrupted the xenon
lamp will be switched off by the air ow
switch.
If the projector and therefore the lamp
is switched off, the fan should continue

15 Special Hazard Points and Safety Hints
151 General Hints
• This projector is intended for installation in a restricted access projection room.
• The digital projector must be placed on even and solid ooring.
• The installation and all basic adjustments must be carried out by trained service
personnel only.
152 Ventilation
• Slots and openings in the housing are provided for ventilation. To ensure reliable
operation of the projector and to protect it from overheating, never cover or block
these openings.
• Projection room must be well ventilated or cooled in order to avoid build up of heat.
Optionally the air can be ducted outside the projection room or the building in order to
minimize the warming-up of the room.
To do so, the duct system must be capable of actively providing an airow of
10-12 m³/min or 350–420 CFM, measured at the ventilation exhaust of the projector,
or lamphouse, respectively.
• The air lters on projector head have to be regularly cleaned or replaced, to
guarantee enough air ow inside the projector. Interruption of the air ow can cause
overheating. Overheating may lead to the projector shutting down during operation.
153 Optical Performances
To ensure the highest optical performance and resolution, the projector lenses are spe-
cially treated with an anti-reective coating. Therefore, avoid touching the coated lens
surface.
To remove dust on the lens, use a soft dry cloth (Cleaning set from Kinoton).
Do not use a damp cloth, detergent solutions or thinner.

16 Protection against Pirate Copies
Before coded digital lm copies can be projected with the projector, the distributor has
to send a key. This key recognizes the projector certication, which is located on a web
portal. During installation or after changing the interface board the certication le must
be uploaded.
If the electronics box is opened or the light engine is removed the projector indicates a
security error. The result is you are not able to project protected lms. Via a hardware
key and a code the Kinoton service person can re-activate the system.
17 Modication of Projector Construction
No alterations, additions or modications may be made to a projector without written
