Operation
Consideration of Measurement
· The positive and negative polarity should be connected to
“” and “ ” input sockets respectively for electrolysis
capacitors.
· Discharge before capacitor test.
· Don’t apply voltage to any input terminals or else the meter
may be damaged.
· Do not short “ ” and “ ” terminal, it will cause the battery
dissipation rise.
· This C meter is intended for measuring the capacitance
value of capacitor. It is not intended for determining the
“Q” factor for above reactive components. Misleading
readings may be obtained if the measurement of
capacitance of a resistor is attempted.
·When measuring in circuit, that circuit must be switched off
and de-energized before connecting the test leads.
·Instruments used in dusty environmental should be
stripped an cleaned periodically.
·Do not leave the instrument exposed to direct heat from
the sun for long time.

4
·Before removing the battery and fuse compartment cover,
ensure that the instrument is disconnected from any circuit
and power switch is in the off position.
Capacitance ( C) Measuring Procedure
·Estimate the capacitance of the measured capacitor and
set the range rotary switch from “OFF” to a expecting
range.
·Connect BLACK test lead into “ ” socket and RED lead
into “ ” socket.
·Connect the alligator clips to the lead of the capacitor be
measured.
·Confirm display show“0000”firstly, low test range (such as
200 pF、2 nF、20 nF) need to adjust “ADJ” to be zero.
·Connect the measured capacitor and press “TEST/DIS”
button to discharge (observe polarity when connecting
polarity capacitor).
·Release “TEST/DIS” button measuring.
·Read the display, the value is direct reading in the unit (pF,
nF, uF or mF) indicated at the selected range switch. If
display show “1”, it means out-of-range measurement. If
the display indicates one or more leading zeros, shift to the
next lower range scale to improve the resolution of the
measurement.
NOTE:
a) If the capacitance value is unmarked, start with the

5
200pF range and keep increasing until the over-range
indication goes off and a reading is obtained.
b) A shorted capacitor will read over-range at all range. A
capacitor with low voltage leakage will read over-range,
or a much higher value than normal. A open capacitor
will read zero at all ranges (maybe a little reading at
200pF range due to stray capacitance of the meter).
c) When measuring the very low capacitance, it should
be performed using extremely short leads in order to
avoid introducing any stray capacitance.
d) When using the optioned test leads, remember that the
leads maybe introduce a measurable capacitance to
influence the accuracy of measurement. As a tip of
measurement, the test lead capacitance may be
measured by opening the leads and recording it down,
then subtracting it to obtain a more accurate measuring
result.
e) Capacitors, especially electrolytic, it often have a wide
tolerance. Do not be surprised if the measured value is
greater than the value marked on the capacitor, unless it
is a close close tolerance type. However, the value are
seldom drastically lower than the rated value.
f) If changing the range, measured value is changed, it
shows that is a leakage-voltage capacitors. However,
the influence of leakage-resistance will be decreased in
lower range.

Maintenance
This is a accurate test instrument, it not allowed to change
any inner circuit voluntarily.
·Pay more attention to water-proof、dust-proof and
decline-proof.
·It is not suitable to use in Hi-temperature、Hi-humidity、
easy-burning and strong-magnetic field environment.
·To clean the surface with wet cloth and mild cleaner, don’t
use rubbing or alcohol to clean the surface of the
instrument.
·Take out of the battery to prevent the battery electrolyte
leakage if don’t use for long time.
Battery replacement
Replace the battery immediately when LCD indicates
“”symbol:(steps as the following)
·Take out of the screw and remove battery cover.
·Remove 9V battery and replace with another new battery
with same type or equivalent.
·Reinstall the battery cover and fasten the screw.
Fuse replacement
·Remove the protection holster.
·Take out of the screws on the bottom case and remove it.
·Remove the destroyed fuse and replace with another

7
new one with same type or equivalent.
·Reinstall the bottom case and fasten the screws.
