Using optical zoom
Use opti al zoom to get up to 3X loser to your subje t.
1Use the LCD to frame your subje t.
2Press Telephoto (T) to zoom in. Press Wide Angle (W)
to zoom out.
The zoom indicator shows zoom status.
Take the pi ture or video.
■Always use the auto fo us framing marks.
■If you are not using zoom (1X, wide angle), you
an be as lose as 13.8 in. (35 m) to your
subje t.
■As you zoom, you need to move further from your
subje t.

Using the flash
Use the flash when you take pi tures at night, indoors, or outdoors in heavy shadows.

When the lighting onditions require it.

Fill Every time you take a pi ture, regardless of the lighting onditions. Use when
the subje t is in shadow or is “ba klit” (when the light is behind the subje t).
In low light, hold the amera steady or use a tripod.

If Red-eye Pre-flash is turned off:

1Turn the Mode dial to S ene .
2Press to display S ene mode des riptions.
If the mode description turns off before you finish reading it press OK.
Press OK to hoose a S ene mode.

To better understand ea h menu option, use amera Help. Sele t an option you want to
learn more about, then press the Zoom telephoto (T) button.

Taking panoramic pictures
Use panorama to “stit h” up to 3 pi tures into a panorami s ene.
1Turn the Mode dial to SCN.
2Press on the 4-way button to highlight Panorama Left-Right or Panorama
Right-Left (depending on the dire tion you want to pan), then press the OK button.
Take the first pi ture.
After a quickview the LCD displays the liveview and an “overlay” from the first picture.
4Compose the se ond pi ture. Make the overlay from the first pi ture over the same
portion in the new pi ture. (You an press the Delete button to re-take a pi ture.)
5If you are taking only 2 pi tures, press the OK button to stit h them together.
After you take 3 pictures the pictures are automatically stitched together.
The LCD displays a quickview for approximately 5 seconds.

Using sound tags
You an add a unique sound/message (up to 1 minute long) to your pi ture (not to
videos).
Recording a sound tag
1Press the Review button, then to find a pi ture.
2Press the Menu button, then to
highlight Sound Tag. Press the OK button.
Choose Re ord, then press OK.
4Follow the s reen prompts.
The sound tag is applied to your picture.
Playing a sound tag
1Press the Review button, then to find a tagged
pi ture.
2Press to play the sound tag.
Press to adjust the volume.
4Press OK to pause or replay the sound tag during
playba k.

Viewing thumbnails (multi-up)
1Press the Review button.
2Press the Zoom Wide Angle (W) button to hange
from single-pi ture view to multi-up thumbnails.
Press Telephoto (T) to return to single-pi ture view.

Using Kodak Perfect Touch technology
Kodak Perfe t Tou h te hnology helps ensure better, brighter pi tures.
1Press the Review button, then for previous/next pi ture.
2Press the Menu button. Press to find Edit.
Press to highlight Perfe t Tou h te h., then press OK.
The enhancement is previewed in a split screen. Press to view other parts of the
picture.
4Press OK. Follow the s reen prompts to repla e the original pi ture or to save the
enhan ed pi ture as a new one.
NOTE: You annot enhan e previously enhan ed pi tures.

Editing videos
Making a picture from a video
You an hoose a single frame from a video, then make a pi ture suitable for printing.
1Press the Review button, then to find a video.
2Press the Menu button. Press to find Edit.
Press to highlight Make Pi ture, then press
OK.
4Press to sele t a video frame.
5Follow the s reen prompts to save the pi ture.
Trimming a video
You an delete an unwanted portion from the beginning or end of a video.
1Press the Review button, then to find a video.
2Press the Menu button. Press to find Edit.
Press to highlight Trim, then press .
4Follow the s reen prompts. (Use fast-forward and
fast-reverse, if needed.)

Making a video action print
From a video, you an make a 4-, 9-, or 16-up pi ture, suitable for a 4 x 6-in h
(10 x 15 m) print.
1Press the Review button, then to find a video.
2Press the Menu button. Press to highlight
Edit Video, then press OK.
Press to highlight Video A tion Print, then
press OK.
4Choose an option, then press OK.
Auto options: The amera in ludes the first and last frames, then 2, 7, or 14
equally spa ed frames.
Manual options: You hoose the first and last frames; the amera hooses 2, 7, or
14 equally spa ed frames.
Running a slide show
Use Slide Show to display your pi tures/videos on the amera, a television, or any
devi e equipped with a video input (see page 5).
1Press the Review button, then the Menu button.
2Press to highlight Slide Show, then press the OK button.
Press to highlight Begin Show, then press the OK button.
To interrupt the Slide Show, press the OK button.
