Introduction
The KongTV Box is an IPTV Box for Network TV and surveillance. It uses a high-performance H.264 video
compression chipset, requires smaller bandwidth and implements better video quality. P2P server and UPnP
protocol make an easy network connection, you can get rid of complex network configuring and just use it by
plug-n-play. With the application software installed on your computer, 3G mobile phone or Wi-Fi PDA, you
could remotely watch TV programs & record TV programs & monitor home situation on the move.

Dual-rate-stream architecture
Advanced dual-rate-stream architecture allows the box to be connected to WAN and LAN (limited to 1
person separately) at the same time, and this two networks can be set different resolution and bit rate.
Monitoring AV equipments remotely
Have one group of camera and microphone input, and you can monitor the home conditions anytime
when outward.
Supportive communication protocol
Supports communication protocol such as DDNS / DHCP / fixed IP / PPPoE. Static IP, DHCP and Cable
modem all can be used.
Firmware upgradeable
Provides remote firmware update mechanism, and retaining the lasted version and upgrading new
version no longer need to spend money.
Time-Shift
The Time-Shift function makes the Box can make a pause when playing program at any time, and you
can continue to watch later, it’s also easy to skip ads(AP function).
Coding and TV OUT function
Box has coding and TV OUT function, so video files recorded can be watched on TV.

Locating Control and Ports
Take a moment to identify the control and ports shown on the following pages.
Front Panel
USB 2.0 Port:
Connect a USB Flash Drive.
IR Blaster Port:
Connected with a supplied IR blaster cable, via the learning function of remote control,
the KongTV box can emit IR signals to control STB or DVR / DVD remotely.
Remote Sensor:
Point remote control here.
Status Lights:
Show the current status of the KongTV box.

Connect the supplied power adapter.
ETHERNET
Connect a network with an always-on broadband connection.
AV-OUT
Not Usable
LISTEN & TALK & CAMERA
Audio in(connected to speaker), audio out(connected to microphone), camera in (BNC).
AV-IN
Connect to external A/V devices (such as DVD or STB) by the supplied 4 in 1 AV cable.
ANTENNA IN/OUT
Connect the cable TV antenna to the ANTENNAIN jack on the unit, then connect
ANTENNAOUT jack to TV by the supplied RF cable.
RESET
Press it with pen-point for three seconds, the box will reset to the default setting.

About the Status Lights
The KongTV Box has three status lights on the front that indicate what’s happening.

Installation
Hardware Installation

Connect IR Blaster Cable
Connect the supplied IR Blaster Cable to the IR Blaster port of the KongTV Box, and place the other
head on the top of the video source such as DVD to point at its remote sensor. You could peel off the
sticker paper on the IR Blaster Cable head to fasten it with the video device.

Keep the distance between the IR cable’s head and the remote sensor of video source within 5cm.
IR Learning
With the KongTV player installed on your PC, you could do the IR learning by switching to the video
source of the external connected video device. While learning, you must aim your physical remote
control of the video source at the front led cap of the KongTV Box and keep the distance between
them within 5cm.
Connect USB Storage
If you want to set schedule recording, you should plug the USB storage device in the USB port at the
front panel of the KongTV Box.

The external USB device must be FAT32 format.
The Box doesn’t support some USB storage devices.
If the 2.5 inches USB external disk without its own power source can’t be used, please connect
power source to them.

Connect Audio/Video Source
Use the supplied 4 in 1AV cable to connect the AV-IN jack on the unit and connect the other end of it to
the 3RCAto 3RCA cable and S-video cable, then to the corresponding out jack on your video device.
Connect the speaker, microphone and camera to the LISTEN, TALK &CAMERA port of KongTV Box.
Connect Cable or Antenna
Disconnect the Coaxial/RF cable from your TV'sAntenna IN and reconnect it to the Antenna IN of
KongTV Box. Then use the supplied RF cable to connect the Antenna OUT of your KongTV Box to the
RF Antenna IN of TV.
Connect Output
Not Usable
Connect to Your Network
Connect the KongTV Box’s ETHERNET port to the corresponding port on your Modem or Router using
a LAN cable. Use a commercially available LAN or Ethernet cable (CAT5 or better withRJ-45
connector). If the Box is not near a network connection, many retailers have LAN cables in lengths of
50 feet or more.

Many network connection problems during set up can often be fixed byre-setting the router or modem.
After connecting the player to the home network, quickly power off and/or disconnect the power cable
of the home network router or cable modem. Then power on and/or connect the power cable again.
Connect Power Source
(Remember to place the step at last.)
Connect the supplied power adapter to the port labeled DC5.5V, and plug the power adapter into an
electrical outlet.
When plugged in, the PWR light on the front panel comes on.

Software Installation
Before installing the KongTV Box, please make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirement
and is equipped with a CD drive and a HDD with at least 100MB free space.
Follow the following steps to complete the installation:
1. Download : http://www.kongtv.co.kr

2. This is the first screen you will see. Click the Next
button to begin the installation, and then follow the
on-screen instructions.
3. Enter the User Name and Organization, then click
“Next”.

4. Choose the destination folder where KongTV player
will reside and then click “Next” to install. The
defaults location is C\:\Program Files\KongTV Player
\KongTV Player\.
5. Click Finish to exit the installation Wizard.

After finishing the installation, it will come up a 「KongTV Player」icon on the desktop,
double-click it to watch your KongTV player.

Remove Software
1. Click 「Start ► Programs ► KongTV Player ► KongTV Player ► Uninstall KongTV Player」to remove
the software.
2. It will pop up a dialog asked “Are you want to uninstall this product?”, Click「Yes」to uninstall the program.
3. When the program is completed, you have finished removing KongTV player application software.
