CHOOSING AN INSTALLATION LOCATION
If using the optional plug-in microphone, then the recommended placement of the Speaker Bar is on the top right of the Videophone. This
provides maximum distance between the Speaker Bar and plug-in microphone, and faces the speakers towards the Videophone user.
If using the default internal microphone (located at top-centre just to the left of the camera), then the Speaker Bar is best placed either
beneath or beside the base of the Videophone, or clamped onto the lower right edge of the Videophone.
However, due to vision, mobility, or cognitive difficulties, some Videophone users may be prone to knocking the Speaker Bar, or
inadvertently altering the Speaker Bar controls, which can cause sound to be disabled. In these situations, it is best to install the Speaker
Bar out of sight behind the Videophone, and/or to place electrical tape over its controls.
The options for mounting are:
•Mount on the top edge or the right edge of the Videophone, facing forward
•Mount out of sight behind the Videophone, clamped onto the top of the Kickstand, facing rearward
•Mount beneath or beside the Videophone, clamped onto a suitable object, surface, or (if in use) a Videophone mounting bracket.
