run at least 2 hours on the higher setting before putting food in the
compartment.
• Prepare food in small portions to enable it to be rapidly and
completely frozen and to make it possible to subsequently thaw

which are airtight.

frozen to avoid temperature rise of the latter.
• Iced products, if consumed immediately after removal from the
freezer compartment, will probably cause frost burns to the skin.

retailer.
• Once defrosted, food will deteriorate rapidly and should not be
re-frozen. Do not exceed the storage period indicated by the food

Defrosting
Why you should defrost your appliance
• Water contained in food or that gets inside the refrigerator when
opening its doors may form a frost layer inside. This can weaken
the refrigeration when the frost is thick. This it accumulates in a
layer thicker than 10 mm, defrost.
Defrosting the fresh food storage compartment
• Defrosting is automatically controlled by switching the temperature
regulator on or off so that there is no need to defrost it by yourself.
Water from defrosting will be drained into a drip tray through a drain
pipe at the back of the refrigerator automatically.
Defrosting in frozen-food storage compartment
• Defrosting the freezer compartment should be done manually.
Before defrosting, remove the food.

fresh food compartment temporarily.

compressor will stop working) and leave the door of the refrigerator
open until ice and frost dissolve thoroughly and accumulate at the
bottom of the freezer compartment. Wipe off the water with soft cloth.

(about 50° C) in the freezer compartment and scrape away the ice
and frost with a defrosting spatula as it melts. After doing so, be
sure to set the knob of the temperature regulator to the original
position.
• It is not advisable to heat the freezer compartment directly with hot
water or using a hair dryer to avoid deformation of the inner case.
• It is also not advisable to scrape off ice and frost or separate food
from containers which have become frozen with the food with a
sharp tools or wooden bars, so as not to damage the inner casing
or the surface of the evaporator.

temperature regulator to the “0” position.
